Correlation between sperm count and frequency of wet dreams
I haven’t found any studies relating to the number of sperm in semen to frequency of wet dreams. Is there any correlation?
No one can set us free from this wasteland but ourselves.

I’ve read through a lot of research articles on the topic, and from what I remember, either there was not a study done on that correlation, or there was no correlation. However, I do recall seeing several studies showing a correlation between testosterone levels and WD frequency.

Re: Correlation between sperm count and frequency of wet dreams
I haven't read or looked into it, but I would doubt that actual sperm count would have any correlation to wet dreams. Sperm accounts for a very small percentage of the final volume of semen. As focus said, maybe testosterone. Anything that would contribute to the glands like the prostate and seminal vesicles filling with fluid. I'd be willing to bet that added pressure also contributes to the body signaling it needs to release, leading to a higher chance it happens in your sleep.

Sperm is stored separately from the other fluids though, and it all only mixes together at the start of ejaculation. So semen volume isn't just one thing in one place. There could be many different fullness thresholds in play. As far as I understand it, you could have a buildup of sperm, seminal vesicle fluid, and prostate fluid each in their own separate areas, and nobody knows which one is responsible for filling to a critical point (or if fullness even is really the main factor). At least that's my layman's understanding from various things I've read.
User dipke3 seemed convinced that sperm storage was the crucial factor. His theory is still in the WDF archive.

It's clear that some guys can AB for weeks without a WD, and then even get 2 WDs in one night. The correlation with 'fullness' is quite low.

Yeah, there are guys who have wet dreams despite still masturbating and guys who can abstain for a year and never get them, it's all over the place. There don't seem to be any absolutes when it comes to any single factor.
My general thought is that it's worth checking as many boxes as possible, what ever is within reach.
Personally, I've done a big re-think on what I've been doing wrong with regards to my testosterone. On previous ab-streaks, I wasn't exercising, I occasionally smoked weed, smoked cigarettes heavily, and was under a lot of stress... awful lifestyle factors, and in hindsight not at all surprised that my ab-streaks were dry. If you're doing something you know is screwing up your sperm-count and/or testosterone, it might be worth not doing that and seeing if anything changes.
