I don't think edging encourages WDs, and in fact it discourages them. The simple fact seems to be that full time frequent WDers don't edge. Probably different brain paths.

I've read both perspectives. The only WD I had in the last few years was during a time I was edging, so I think peoples' experiences vary. I will be back to sex on Sunday or Monday so I figured after days of boring dreams I'd experiment, not much to lose really.
