For those frequent wet dreamers out there do you get any signs that you are due or about to have a wet dream that night or the next few nights?

It appears that some stimulating view or circumstance during the day can trigger a WD that night. If you think about it, that 'path' to a WD would happen best when MB isn't an option or habit. They get aroused and excited by something during the day, fall asleep normally, or maybe with some horny thoughts but no thought of MB, then have a full WD that night.

Guys who never MB'd, or got themselves out of the MB habit, would be the ones most likely to get a WD from seeing or thinking something sexually stimulating during the day, simply because MB doesn't exist for them.

You could think of MB as a 'short circuit'. Get away from the short circuit to get full WDs. Most guys will tell you that WDs also feel much better than MB.

For myself I think its when I have a few vivid sexual dreams where I’ve either had an orgasm in the dream or gotten to the edge and then the dream changes to a non sexual one and I wake up the next morning soft and dry. I usually experience a wet dream the following day or two after. I usually get to this stage around 2-4 weeks after abstaining.

Who knows? It's going to be different for everyone. It looks like in general the fewer years a guy has MB'd, the easier it is for them to get WDs. So the more years a guy has been MBing, the harder it seems to be to get WDs. This may be an example of the fact that young brains are more flexible than older ones.

It may be that an older guy who doesn't MB and has regular WDs would have trouble learning to MB. If he forced it, he may not see any point in continuing with MB because it doesn't feel as good as his WDs.

Same! I'd usually get a couple "dry dreams" before I got a "wet" one. Like your mind is priming itself again for one. Also sometimes some semen might leak out when going #2. (TMI, but true, and others here have experienced that as well!)
