Yeah it would be interesting for more people to try it as well. The original thread had many reports from people saying it worked for them. So even if the underlying theory isn't right, the prescribed steps seem to do something, and it doesn't seem like a coincidence. Maybe the steps are working by some other means.

I don't doubt that the steps work, in fact, Dipke's process makes complete logical sense. I just feel like it's kind of cheating, and a little disingenuous to the AB/WD mindset. If we want regular WDs, then I think it's really important to think about what our bodies are getting used to. If they normalise edging and 'filling up' over a 7 day period, and then releasing, then we kind of restrict ourselves to that strategy.

I would be really interested to see if anyone trying Dipke's method has been able to achieve a WD frequency greater than once a week, or once every 10 days (I can't remember exactly how long his process takes).

Yes, it wouldn't be ideal to restrict ourselves to that, frankly punishing, 4 days of "constant arousal" every time. But I wonder if forcing it a few times might awaken that pathway to WDs. It's a pity we don't have a larger community, where these things can play out in statistically-significant ways. If I could actually perform the Dipke technique, I might stay abstaining afterwards to see if it might repeat naturally.
The only alternative suggestion seems to be abstaining for months, which is also punishing in its own way. And even thinking that is the wrong mindset by some standards, which I get, and I can see the validity of.
I'd be fascinated to learn whether there's a difference between natural WDs, forced WDs, and intentionally lucid sex-dreams, but unfortunately I think we might never know.

This is a very good point, and I guess you've also identified one of the big issues, which is that we really don't have enough people at the moment to test out all these theories, and to gather more data. If we did, we might start to see some trends emerge, it just really doesn't seem like we'll have the ability to test this out unless we have a lot more people to do so. I agree, either way you look at it, AB can be really taxxing, as well as the 4 days of arousal suggested by Dipke's method. However, if we can train our bodies to have WDs frequently, and get them used to the benefits, it could help to mitigate some of health drawbacks of AB such as increased risk of prostate infection.....

I think I read that somewhere, pls don't tear me apart for it!

You're right that there's simply not a lot of research. But from what we can see, it appears that frequent WDers don't edge. Non-MBers seem perfectly capable of going to bed eager for a WD while having zero thoughts or interest in MB.

I think it's all learned behavior. For example, most MBers use the 'manual method', but some use pillow humping or something similar. Both groups might have trouble maximizing their intensity using the other's technique.

It also looks like WDs are the natural outlet, since guys who don't employ any other outlets virtually always start getting WDs when they reach puberty.

So what many guys say who AB for WDs seems reasonable: Shut off the brain paths to MB related outlets, and try to visualize having WDs. It often works, but may take some time.

It is certainly conceivable to transition from MBer to full time WDer. And part of that may include developing a disinterest in MB as an outlet.
