well its day 3.

I find myself being frustrated by school. especially electric and physics. They are simply like trying to learn chinese. (no offense to the chinese.)

Its causing me extreme stress. It has made me see those people who are chronic university students and wonder how they can do it. They can spend hours and days and years in School and they enjoy it. I find school to be both an enjoyment, and a thorn in my side. I truly enjoy learning new things, and improving my skills, but the thorn in my side is the subject that I truly hate, Math. or anything that resembles math. The electric course Im taking has math calculations in it and I simply cannot understand the process how to figure it out. and Physics, egads... a horrible subject, no wonder I refused to take it back when I was in High School.

Physics are required for my courses I am taking.

I've gone and done it, I took my physics quiz and I don't think I did very well.

Anyway, Its day 4. What a fascinating day, the temperature today went up to 45 f, which is very balmy where I live. So nice today, I actually walked outside in shirt sleeves.

It actually cheers me up, I pretty much need it after that physic quiz.

Day 6. This could be a cause of celebration, but alas, not so. I find myself tempted now. So I'm in a bad situation, here in front of a computer, with easy access porn and I'm tempted.

Day 7. Im still tempted at this point, but Im glad I got through last night all right. It left me exhausted as I did not sleep very well. Right now Im just catching up with homework. Studying on Driveshaft. interesting. Who woulda thunk that a drive shaft could be so complicated.

anyway. I need your support to help me beat my 7 day streak and try to get my body used to doing what It naturally does.

I made it to day 8. Today was a very nice day. Enjoyed watching Librarian on tv. Cool show. Right now Im busy trying to complete my homework. Still feel tempted to mb. Hate getting random boners and those pesky thoughts that says go ahead with mb.

Oh well. C'est La vie.

Was too tired to handle having a boner. Knew that this hard on would continue through the night, so I just gave up. Tsk tsk.

I've began to read your journal and i'd first like to say something: you're doing great! No i can see your face: what the hell is this guy saying? Let me explain.

As many others that are here in the forum and that also follow up your journal, many of us are christians (as i am) and try to do God's will, which, most often that we do enjoy, it's not easy at all, but we try. Many times we fail, but many times we do good too. I also live with a thorn in the flesh, like Apostle (Saint) Paul said he had. Like you, i'm addicted to porn and mb since early on age. I had many wd between my 12 and 15th anniversary, but after that, porn and mb kicked in my life. I imagine something similar may have happened to you. So giving up on the habit is certainly not easy, specially cause it's been so long since we do it. But the most important is already done, you manage to recognise your mistake and you're taking action to correct it, to do it better, and isn't that what God asks of us? To be better? So we try again and probably, actually, the most likely is that we will fail again! And again and again. And we will feel guilty and bad... I feel exactly that. Then i pray to God and remember that he loves me, and i'll do my best to do better next time, cause each day is a next time and also, remember: each single day you don't mb, that's a great victory, don't let yourself thing otherwise, cause it's a victory between the sinful flesh and the righteous spirit. Remember you're not alone, we are here for you. And unfortunately, today you're back yo day 1, well, you'll do better now.
I'm on the beginning of day 2, wanna be AB buddies? That will make me very glad men!

Also, congratulation, you've already achieved a lot, and you must be happy for it, God is.

Finally i have a question: What are you really studying? And what made you go to college after the 20's (don't get me wrong please)? I'm at college too

I am currently studying to become an automotive technician. and to clarify, im in my late 30s.
Yeah, each day that I abstain, is a victory, but would be nice to see it last longer.

School is awesome. What made me decide to go back to school? well Life dealt me a hard blow so I took some time off from school to do some inner seeking to find out what is my ambitions and goals. To my surprise, 17 years went by and I finally realized that my dreams will never be met if I continue the way I live. So I decided to make a career change. So far I haven't regretted my decision. I think Its the best one I ever made.

I would appreciate every help I can get on my journey in this WDF.

Today i'm the one not fine. I just rejoined the forum and i was hopping i'd be more motivated, and just busted it today
I know i know... but it's hard, sometimes self control is like non-existant. But hell, here we are and here we will continue. Btw, you didn't say if you wanted to be AB buddies, i'm back to square 0, but a buddy helping me out would be awesome.
I must say, something i hold most dear in this forum, and i hope it continues to develop is the ability to make friends, to connect with "real" people that face the same challenges as me (and i'm referring to life in general, not only mb an porn or WD)...

I get so happy when people decide to look to their lives, and when something is not right change it. My day so far is good, had a good day today,, a bit boring. Already done with the transmission so I have to wait until the instructor can say I can go ahead and assemble it.

Day 3.

So far So good. I just thought of a system that I could use to help me over come my addiction. I used that system to help me stop my craving for sweets. Everytime I see candy, I kept saying to myself no. don't buy it. It too me a while to finally stop buying sweets. I am curious if it will work with my addiction. So here goes my new trial. I will tell myself no every time I am tempted. Wish me luck.

by the way, I finally got my car back, Its been in the shop being repaired due to engine malfunction. To my surprise, the source of my engine malfunction was a shattered piston. Now I can enjoy going somewhere quicker.



No dreams so far. basically because I was not feeling 100 percent, so now I am feeling much better. Hated getting cramps in my leg in the last 3 nights. Its a sign that I haven't exercised lately.

Hey Dreamtraveller, I was reading a bit of your log. I thought maybe I'd chime in a bit and, well, offer you encouragement - on a personal not I don't have an opinion on masturbation as to whether or not it's a "good" or "bad" thing, just something people do or don't do. I applaud your efforts to stop, if that's really your intent, and commend you on trying.

I've gone my whole life without it, and I don't intend to start anytime soon. But I am a little bit concerned over the use of the word "addiction" when discussing masturbation - yeah it's got certain characteristics that fall in line with addiction, but it's missing a very key element...

Let's set some groundwork for "addiction":



There's a very critical element to masturbation that's missing from the addiction definition: harm. Masturbation isn't "harming" you. The religious members of the board have really got it in their heads that they should feel bad about masturbating - whether the act itself is considered morally wrong or the whole sexual fantasy element is wrong.

The problem with this mindset is that someone else has made a decision on how you are or are not allowed to use your body. And they've guilt tripped you into accepting what they say as, no pun intended, gospel. What's really going on is you've got hundreds of thousands of years of evolution, years of successive ancestors who survived because reproduction was important. There's a reason that orgasms feel good - that's not a mistake, it's a reward mechanism for your body to tell you that you've done something productive (reproductive?).

The problem I have with that mindset though of getting yourself caught up in the morality of masturbation is that you're now demoralizing yourself, beating yourself up, when you fail to masturbate - you're turning something that should feel good into something that feels good - then makes you depressed. It's a vicious cycle you're putting on yourself.

The cycle of masturbation, as I've seen it here, goes something like this:

1. Abstain for a few days to a week.
2. Feel good that your peers here have applauded you.
3. Stress over lasting longer.
4. Collapse due to the excessive stress and masturbate to relieve the tension.
5. Immediately feel guilty that you've broken your word/abstinence.
6. Commit to not masturbating again.

Then repeat that loop over and over.

The idea that you can break the cycle by completely ignoring your sexual nature is... Well, absurd. But it seems like a lot of guys get hung up on that. You're ignoring an important part of who you are, and you're putting yourself in a bad spot because you're beating yourself up over failing.

Being sexually excited isn't morally ambiguous, it's part of the human condition - respect it as you do yourself. And expect it. It's going to happen. But, don't get hung up on it. Those sexual urges come and go like the changing of the seasons, you'll have your good days and your bad days.

When I get horny, and yes it really does happen, haha, I allow myself to get aroused, I think about it, allow myself to go that road, and then I let it go. Before long I forget that I was even horny and my day follows through without a hitch. I don't need to feel guilty about having sexual feelings or desires, I simply allow myself to feel them and go on.

I didn't bring up porn yet. My thoughts on porn are this: If you went out to find porn, then you might as well jerk off, because you've already committed to it. You've already decided that you want to further increase your sexual tension just to relieve it again.


This is all contingent if you want to really quit or not. I know some of the guys here have a host of reasons why they want to stop - some just like the challenge, some just want to experience their first wet dream, some feel guilty about masturbating, some are convinced it's harming them in some way.

Being horny shouldn't feel like a bad thing, if it does, there's something really wrong with your mindset, and that's why you're continuing this cycle of failing. It's a perpetuation of your own desire to quit mixed with something that should feel good, into something that further stresses you out and makes you more likely to fail each time. Let the cycle go.

Thank you for your comments. I am aware of the term addiction being more focused on hard drugs like Heroin, crack and such like. However, I choose to use the term addiction for my struggle because basically, I can't go without mb for longer, and Now I've found that I would turn to porn for excitement. I've had a long struggle with feeling good about myself and often turned to mb just to make myself feel good. Based on that type of behaviour, that would be comparable to being addicted to drugs like cocaine or other such. People who are addicted to Cocaine do admit that they try to stop, only to find that they cannot go longer without it, and use it, then they feel good.

Mb has an effect on the human brain, it releases positive euphoria, which I've found to be addictive. Im glad that I am at that age when my libido cannot handle mb daily. but I recall in my youth, I would do mb daily,sometimes twice daily just to feel good.

So I still applaud you for your strength and character. I choose to try to reduce my bad habit of turning to Mb for feeling good, when I should be doing something else to feel good.

day 4.

Today was a nice day, warm weather, finally able to drive my car. Picked up the faulty part that caused my engine to break down. It was a shattered piston. Went to the gym, didn't feel like exercising too hard, so it was a short one. oh well. I guess my mind is too preoccupied with school and my car, and other things.

As for my dreams, I haven't had one lately. Did get a strange dream a couple days ago, but nothing resulted from it.
It is tough being inactive during winter, not my favourite season. I very much prefer summer because of more activities I can do.

Day 5.

Today we got a broken record. the last time it was this warm it was plus 13 c back in 2007. today we got plus 17 c. extremely warm for this time of the year. its very pleasant and cheers me up. But now I got to study hard for the test tomorrow. so wish me luck..

Day 5, had a nice day today, warm, sunny, passed my exam.

As for my struggle, Its not as strong, but I have to be cautious. Its time like today that could lead me to fall off. Especially this week. I have two tests this week, one for electronic, one for physics, those two will, i guarantee, cause me stress, and I know that stress are triggers for me because its usually afterwards that i needed some "pick me up" to feel good. Bad eh?

Oh well, Will keep you posted.

First, congrats on your 5 days of AB, it's never easy, and stress is a major factor to mb, since the relieve of the pipes can be of help in stressing times.

Day 8.

Had a very stressful afternoon. Just finished my physics test and did really badly on it. Couldn't remember formula needed to answer a whole bunch of questions. Why did they invent physics? Did they invent that to torture people like me? I can imagine a professor with a whip and a sadistic wit demanding poor students in the class to write countless numbers, symbols and letters, and if the student make an error, poor student will suffer a severe lashing.

Oh dear, Im being melodramatic eh?

anyway, I still have one more test tomorrow. Electronics, another one of my hated subject.

I am the type of person who like perfect and orderly pattern to math. if they are following exactly the formula in correct order. it feels good when I know that I did it right. But in Physics, there is no rule, there are way too many formulas to use just for one problem.



oh well.

as for my ab, its still on, I don't have any desire so far, I guess I am too stressed and focused on my studies, that I have no time to do things that might cause me to Mb. So far, no dreams, still have a happy member every time I wake up. I usually ignore the member down there and just go do my business and eat, get ready for school. (business, meaning go take a leak)

I'm so sorry your exam wasn't good, mine also wasn't ... Can you repeat the exam? I hope you can? Yah, physics is not easy subject, and newton's mechanics like to get pranky... And, besides that, teacher sometimes like to difficult life at students, unfortunately. But you'll do it, and i'm also sure that your next exam will be better. Just relax before each exam, try to abstract yourself, pray and try to calm down. Then at the exam use all the strength you have to make the exam the best you can.

Day 9.

Well my day went well today. Completed my electronic test, and now I am deliriously happy because I think I did very well on it. I just need to keep on my toes and keep studying, Hopefully I am able to get good grades on it. As for my physics test, am I able to retake it, well, If I retook it, I will still do badly on it because I dont't understand the logic, the structure, the rules, and the why behind the test.

Hope my tutor will help me understand physics better, and maybe I can improve my grades on Physics.

Life is good so far, the weather is beautiful which helps my mood plenty. My ab so far, is good, but the weekend is coming up, gotta stay on guard against it. Weekend tend to be the time where I let my guard down and mb.

Just heard that My school is offering an study abroad program for my automotive program, and its in Australia, Its my lifelong dream to visit Australia, so I might apply for this. It would be a good opportunity for me to learn about different cars other than the usual Canadian version of cars, for example, land Rover, Vauxhalls, etc. We don't have Vauxhalls, and Citroen, and other like that. Also All the cars in Australia is right hand drive, which will be a different experience for me to learn.

I understand your point regarding weekends, what does happen to me is that the most free time i have, the more willing to mb i am. SO an advice i may give you is, get yourself as busy as possible, go for a run if you like sports, or do something that you know will keep you far from mb. Also, if you reach for your dick in a mb way, remember that you've gone 9 days without doing it, why now?

I have followed with interest your blog and can relate to your triumphs and challenges with mb. I am Christian also however I'll be the first to say I let the Lord down alot.

I don't have the answer for your challenges or mine however the one thing that comes to mind is "One Day at a Time". Live in the day you are in .

I don't seem to be able to put a whole lot of AB time together however I pick myself up, dust myself off and keep going.

I would only classify your MB as an addiction if you put it ahead of everything else however from reading your blog, I can see you are actively engaged in advancing yourself educationally and trying to be a balanced guy in your off time.

When I was young, I could MB three times a day. As I've matured, I don't have that ability to ejaculate 3 times in one day.

I'd relax and avoind being so critical of yourself. You seem like a very good guy . If you ever need to vent privately, feel free to drop me a line.

Dave, I consider my struggle with mb an addiction because I would keep doing it but in order to mb, I would turn to porn to excite me. and I found that mentally, I would keep repeating by thinking about it over and over again.

But dave, you are right, I am actively trying to stop, keeping myself busy, changing my career, and in the overall scheme of things, bettering my life.

I was tempted yesterday during school, but luckily I already made up my mind to tell myself no every time I find myself tempted. So I did not allow it to drag me down that path.

I am glad with what has happened in my life so far. Cold day today, but its still nice because I went to the gym, and it was nice to go outside and see that there is a thick blanket of snow on the ground, making things look white and clean.

Day 12.

I found myself being more happy when I abstain, and avoid looking at porn. its been 12 days, and it feels good not to think about looking at porn, and feels good just going with the flow, go to school, attend gym, doing studies, enjoying the weather, when its nice and warm. Today it is cold outside, but like I said previously, white and clean. So life is good.

Can't wait till summer, so I can enjoy being in the mountains hiking, enjoying God's creation.
School still give me challenges, but its part of life. Like they say, if life give you lemons, make lemonade.

So thank you for all your support, Still need a helping hand sometimes.

Day 13.

Its a cold, cold day outside, I just have to grin and bear it. Anyway, my day went well, but in my automotive shop class, I had to reassemble a drum brake assembly over and over and over again because my instructor wanted me to be able to assemble it in 90 seconds. Insanely fast, but now my fingers are sore because I actually used my finger to put in two parts of the assembly instead of using a tool. I managed to get to 1 min and 28 seconds but my instructor said that he has to watch and time me. Grrrr!!!!

As for my ab, Still going well, I was tempted briefly this morning when I saw a movie that involved some sexual intercourse, but I reminded myself not to fall into it. right now, Im exhausted because of hard work doing this brake assembly, and trying to concentrate in electronic class. Good news!. My electric test last week, I got A minus. I am so happy about the results.

Im relaxed and happy with life. It could be better but I know that for a short time, I will have to go through hard time, ie: school, being unemployed, but then in the end, I will find a better job.
