I just wanted to see if there was any pattern in the circumstances surrounding people's WDs. Based on my research, I believe there are several factors that could influence whether or not you will have a wet dream. Please answer the questions honestly and to the best of your ability. Also, post if you think there may be other factors that influence whether or not you will have a WD, and I will create a new survey with those included. 1: Sleepware: What do you sleep in? Nude, Underwear (Please specify what type, ex: Boxers, Briefs etc.), Pants with no underwear, other (please specify): 2: MB: Do you or don't you? 3: How long ago was your last ejaculation? (mm/dd/yyyy) 4: Do you MB until just before an orgasm before you go to bed? 5: List everything you eat or drink from two hours before you go to bed, as well as how much. 6: Do you have any other sort of stimulation before you go to bed? ex: fantasies, pornography, etc. (Please Specify) *Remember to let me know of anything else that might influence whether or not you'll have a WD.

I'm sorry if I didn't make it clear enough, but these are the conditions existing when you HAVE had a WD.
For Example: Say I had a wet dream yesterday: 07/08/2013
1: Boxers 2: No MB 3: 06/30/2013 4: Yes 5: Several glasses of water 6: Fantasies about having sex
*Keep in mind this is fictional information

I typed and copied and pasted the articles before u made the second post so ill add the answers to your questions after what i had alreay wrote.
1: Sleepware: What do you sleep in? Nude, Underwear (Please specify what type, ex: Boxers, Briefs etc.), Pants with no underwear, other (please specify): I wear regular open fly Boxers from Hanes or Fruit of the loom and thats it, cant wear a shirt even if its -10 below outside. if its hot i wear nothing at all or just boxers but usually wake up without them if its hot. i have had WDs in boxers, fully naked and a couple times during naps fully clothed, dont seem to matter with me. MY last WD i was wearing Hanes Boxers.
2: MB: Do you or don't you? Yeah lots unless im AB. i was getting WDs even when jerking off regularly but they were not very often, when i AB the last big AB i did i was averaging 1 a week. My last WD i had jerked off twice the night before. but it had been 12-14 since i had previously jerked off.
3: How long ago was your last ejaculation? (mm/dd/yyyy) 7 days ago
4: Do you MB until just before an orgasm before you go to bed? No never. im my opinion if u do that you prob wont get a WD. the reason i say that is the entire point of AB is to get your mind horny when u sleepin. if you jerk off and stop before release then i think your mind says nope u already got horny no release today. it amazes me how many people i chat with here that make it 20, 30, 40 or more days with ease and im like how can u go that long and not feel horny at times and they reply oh i edge every night but i dont cum cuz if i dont ill go crazy. well DuH!!! no wonder ur not having WDs. Stop touching yourself and let your self get horny enough to get your mind workin on sex. Dont go to sleep thinking about differential calculus either. clear your mind and let it do what it wants to. My last WD, No never b4 bed if im trying for a WD.
5: List everything you eat or drink from two hours before you go to bed, as well as how much. usually a 16oz bottle or 2 of water or sometimes a pepsi. various munchies, depends on when i last ate but could be anything from a salad to ice cream, i often grab a small chunk of cheese, mozzarella or cheddar sometimes ill have a bowl of cereal frosted flakes or honey nut cheerios it just depends nothing specific all the time. My last WD i think i had a bottle of water and a couple sticks of string cheese.
6: Do you have any other sort of stimulation before you go to bed? ex: fantasies, pornography, etc. (Please Specify) no, if i look at porn i will more than likely jerk off. i have frequently thought about sex with my gf just as im drifting off to sleep. gotta be carefull with that though cuz if i get a raging boner while im still fully awake then i will remain fully awake. My last WD i recall thinking i would not have a WD soon cuz i had just jerked off. nothing else.

misc thoughts------------------------- i think having a very comfortable bed is very important and also a comfortable temperature. i like very soft beds and 72*f / 21*c temps
you need to sleep uninterruped, no alarms, no moms, no friends etc. Dreams happen in REM sleep which from the research i have read is longest and most active a couple hours before u would normally wake up naturally. people that tell me they had a WD a half hour after they went to sleep i think are popping a boner and humping the bed and calling it a WD. they also seem to never remember the dream when it occurs early which makes sense cuz they prob didnt have a dream just a boner.
This is just my opinion so u can listen or not i dont really care, but u asked so im giving u my honest opinion of what i think helps and hurts your chances for a WD.
end misc thoughts-------------------------
ill post a couple articles that i have read so u can see for yourself that im not making it up.
This is from wikipedia under REM SLEEP... Rapid eye movement sleep (REM sleep) is a normal stage of sleep characterized by the rapid and random movement of the eyes. Rapid eye movement sleep is classified into two categories: tonic and phasic.[1] It was identified and defined by Nathaniel Kleitman and his student Eugene Aserinsky in 1953. Criteria for REM sleep includes rapid eye movement, low muscle tone and a rapid, low-voltage EEG; these features are easily discernible in a polysomnogram,[2] the sleep study typically done for patients with suspected sleep disorders.[3]
REM sleep in adult humans typically occupies 20–25% of total sleep, about 90–120 minutes of a night's sleep. REM sleep is considered the lightest stage of sleep, and normally occurs close to morning.[4] During a normal night of sleep, humans usually experience about four or five periods of REM sleep; they are quite short at the beginning of the night and longer toward the end. Many animals and some people tend to wake, or experience a period of very light sleep, for a short time immediately after a bout of REM. The relative amount of REM sleep varies considerably with age. A newborn baby spends more than 80% of total sleep time in REM.[5] During REM, the activity of the brain's neurons is quite similar to that during waking hours; for this reason, the REM-sleep stage may be called paradoxical sleep.[6]
REM sleep is physiologically different from the other phases of sleep, which are collectively referred to as non-REM sleep (NREM sleep). Subjects' vividly recalled dreams mostly occur during REM sleep.
This is from WebMD...
When you sleep, your body rests and restores its energy levels. However, sleep is an active state that affects both your physical and mental well-being. A good night's sleep is often the best way to help you cope with stress, solve problems, or recover from illness.
What Happens During Sleep? Sleep is prompted by natural cycles of activity in the brain and consists of two basic states: rapid eye movement (REM) sleep and non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep, which consists of Stages 1 through 4.
During sleep, the body cycles between non-REM and REM sleep. Typically, people begin the sleep cycle with a period of non-REM sleep followed by a very short period of REM sleep. Dreams generally occur in the REM stage of sleep.
What Is Non-REM Sleep? The period of NREM sleep is made up of stages 1-4. Each stage can last from 5 to 15 minutes. A completed cycle of sleep consists of a progression from stages 1-4 before REM sleep is attained, then the cycle starts over again.
Stage 1: Polysomnography (sleep readings) shows a reduction in activity between wakefulness and stage 1 sleep. The eyes are closed during Stage 1 sleep. One can be awakened without difficulty, however, if aroused from this stage of sleep, a person may feel as if he or she has not slept. Stage 1 may last for five to 10 minutes. Many may notice the feeling of falling during this stage of sleep, which may cause a sudden muscle contraction (called hypnic myoclonia).
Stage 2: This is a period of light sleep during which polysomnographic readings show intermittent peaks and valleys, or positive and negative waves. These waves indicate spontaneous periods of muscle tone mixed with periods of muscle relaxation. The heart rate slows and the body temperature decreases. At this point, the body prepares to enter deep sleep.
Stages 3 and 4: These are deep sleep stages, with stage 4 being more intense than Stage 3. These stages are known as slow-wave, or delta, sleep. If aroused from sleep during these stages, a person may feel disoriented for a few minutes. During the deep stages of NREM sleep, the body repairs and regenerates tissues, builds bone and muscle, and appears to strengthen the immune system. As you get older, you sleep more lightly and get less deep sleep. Aging is also associated with shorter time spans of sleep, although studies show the amount of sleep needed doesn't appear to diminish with age.
What Is REM Sleep? Usually, REM sleep occurs 90 minutes after sleep onset. The first period of REM typically lasts 10 minutes, with each recurring REM stage lengthening, and the final one may last up to an hour. Polysomnograms show brainwave patterns in REM to be similar to that recorded during wakefulness. In people without sleep disorders, heart rate and respiration speed up and become erratic during REM sleep. During this stage the eyes move rapidly in different directions.
Intense dreaming occurs during REM sleep as a result of heightened brain activity, but paralysis occurs simultaneously in the major voluntary muscle groups. REM is a mixture of encephalic (brain) states of excitement and muscular immobility. For this reason, it is sometimes called paradoxical sleep.
The percentage of REM sleep is highest during infancy and early childhood. During adolescence and young adulthood, the percentage of REM sleep declines. Infants can spend up to 50% of their sleep in the REM stage of sleep, whereas adults spend only about 20% in REM.

Interesting ideas. I like them, and I will have to look into them. I would post about myself, but I don't remember the circumstances of my one and only WD, and I'm waiting to get another. Tips would be great! However, I can post about my normal routine.
1: Sleepware: Normally, I wear jockey or hanes briefs to bed. I wear a t-shirt and sometimes pants or shorts as well.
2: MB: I do not MB, at least not regularly. I do MB sometimes though.
3: Last Ejaculation: As of now, 07/10/2013, my last ejaculation was this morning. (MB)
4: MB to just before an orgasm before bed: Again, not regularly. I did a couple of times to see if it would help me get a WD. It didn't.
5: Eat and Drink? How much?: I drink a lot, several glasses of water or milk. Sometimes a bowl of ice cream.
6: Stimulation (Porn/Fantasies): Usually not porn, but I do have fantasies about sex, anal, oral, and MB. Usually I just let my mind wander.
