I have some questions that I'm sure are pretty common here. To start off, I have been trying to cut back on masturbation and to have a wet dream, but it's been really tough (the longest I've gone so far without ejaculating was about 15 days).

1.) Any tips for getting to sleep? I find that if it's been like 4 or more days since my last ejaculation, I just have so much pent-up sexual tension that I can't get to sleep at all. This is really the main inhibitor for me, because it gets so bad that I'm just groggy all day and have trouble functioning at work.

2.) How to you keep from getting, basically, sex-obsessed when abstaining from masturbation? Normally when I ejaculate every few days I hardly ever even think about sex, it's a non-issue. But when I abstain for like a week, essentially every waking thought has something to do with sex. Even if I limit my contact with anything sexual, I still have a lot of trouble keeping my mind off of it. Not to mention there will always be attractive women around, and when I haven't had a release in a while I can't help but fantasize and get distracted when I see them (I don't even want to, but it's like my mind forces me to).

On the first, a lot suggest exercise is helpful in tiring you out and making sleep easier.

On the second, redirecting that energy elsewhere, or changing what you let it do to you is a good start.

I have the same problem with keeping my mind off sexual thing after a certain amount of time. Every attractive girl I see just sends my mind racing and I get just raging hard ons that take along time to go away. I think its just something to be mentally strong about and maybe after a certain amount of time it will slow down. But idk I haven't got there lol

It comes and goes with me, but I never really forget that I am abstaining. I have the most trouble when there just isn't anything to do to use up energy. I don't have as much trouble falling asleep as I do getting back to sleep if I wake up.

It seems to get a bit easier after three weeks, but I've only ever done that once so I dunno if its typical.

When you get certain thoughts, just do something else instead, like read a book or anything like that. It'll distract you and it'll become habit.
