Latin is just like any other language, and I don't think it makes anyone ungodly when they speak it. :/

Who on Earth ever implied that speaking in Latin would make someone an athiest? On the contrary... it was the language of choice for Catholic masses for years.

Well, I've been singing "O Fortuna" and nothing has changed. It doesn't sound right to me.

Don't be afraid, it's just a language. And I kinda like Latin, sounds so formal and it's so easy to read.

I'd agree with the guys above and say it would probably make someone assume the exact opposite. Provided, there are 2 major veins of Latin, Classical Latin (how we at least believe the Romans spoke), and Church Latin. They are largely the same, the major difference is in how they are spoken, things such as Church Latin always uses a soft "c" sound, whereas classical latin would have had a hard "c" sound more like "k". For example Cicero, phonetically speaking, would be "cicero" or "kikero" respectively. There might also be some differences in sentence construction but I never cared enough about church latin to learn.

The church is actually trying to semi revert to latin now, they want things to be closer to what they were before they were translated out of Latin, so everything has recently been retranslated. It's actually quite annoying because many people who had been going for years no longer know what's happening.

Regardless, to answer the original question, no there is really nothing atheist about latin. I'm thinking thought might come from the fact everything in science is named in latin, however, this is more likely due to the language's versatility, it was convention when it began and no one wants to change that, and it allows things to be universal. Beyond that it is simply another language. It has some modern uses but they mostly are simply convention in nature, you could say them in any other language but Latin has a universal quality to it.

No dude, it doesn't... if that were the case, then English, Spanish, Italian, and several other languages would immediately make those speakers atheists due to their languages having heavy roots/ties to Latin.
