I'll start:

1. I think it's very interesting that people have the luxury to do it. Wish I could do it often.

Whenever I feel like it, I take off my boxers, position myself to sleep, close my eyes, and wait for sleep to come on its own. Normally I sleep within half an hour after settling on the bed. But when in the nude, I just lie there, and wait, and wait... Two hours pass before I start catching winks, and even then it's low-quality sleep. A few times have I gone the entire night without clothes, and actually slept, but very lightly. Oddly enough, I sleep alone, I lock the door, shut the curtains, and I know that nothing or no-one will come barging in. However, even with the extra security, my subconscious still deems nudity as vulnerability, and thus I can't go to sleep much.

This has also been my bane when AB'ing, as sleeplessness and nudity lend themselves to MB'ing. So for the time being, I've quit, and doze refreshingly in boxers.

I'll be the first nude sleeper to answer you questions.

I think it is an excellent thing.

2. Have you tried it?
Yes.

During my teens.

Initially, I couldn't sleep well - horrible - but when I committed to it, I soon found that I sleep best nude.

5. if you do it regularly, how often?
Every night unless it's very cold or not conducive.

Lastly. anything else you want to add.
Initially I found nude sleeping a turn on and couldn't fall asleep without mb'ing first and even then I just couldn't sleep nude. But, then I began taking my clothes off in my sleep ("sleep stripping") and mb'ing in my sleep which really ruined my sleep. So, I decided to listen to my body and start sleeping nude again. Now I style myself a nude sleeper who occasionally sleeps clothed due to circumstances.

Absolutely normal.

Have been sleeping totally nude for 50 years, with only time in hospital or shareing a single room with others when I am forced by decency to wear boxers.

I actually feel uncomfortable when sleeping in boxers or shorts, and I simply cannot sleep with a shirt or t-shirt or any sort of top on.
I cannot recall why I started sleeping nude. I probably just felt better. Also I am not sure if it was a turn on or not. It didnt make any difference to my MB habits, as back in the day, I MB'd at least every night.

Great, i feel really good either way. im a real deep sleeper once im asleep.

i will say that even when i sleep with something on its boxers only with open fly so my "gear" is usually exposed either way haha. i remember when i first did it i had constant boners for a week but now they are no differerent i also wore briefs back then and switched to boxers at about the same time i also sleep strip often as well. if i come home exhausted and fall asleep on bed will all my clothes on i usually wake up naked and even with just boxers on i will often wake up with them hangin on my ankle or on the floor.

I have no problems with anyone doing it, but I guess it's not for me.

Yes, a few times. Usually I'd get really stimulated because of friction with the bedsheets. Then either I'd ejaculate by rubbing a bit more, or I'd do my very best to control myself and fall asleep after a while. Then after a few hours I'd wake up again, very aroused. The next step again depends on my self-control...

By the way, sometimes I have slept naked because I unconsciously undressed during sleep (there's another topic for that). When waking up, I sometimes kept it like that, and sometimes re-dressed.

3. When was the first time you tried it?
Can't remember. I think many years ago. I used to do it because it aroused me (and now I avoid it for the exact same reason).

Bad. It's hard to fall asleep, and when I do, I wake up in the middle of the night.

I don't do it regularly, because it almost always leads to MB for me. The tip of my foreskin is so sensitive that a little bit of rubbing can lead to ejaculation. I call that MB.

Personally, I enjoy sleeping naked, even when with someone else it's my preference.
However, if its a hot night I'd rather have underwear on to stop that stick-to-my-legs feeling. And wear undies often if MB is a temptation.

I first got into nude sleeping at age 11

Now I'm very comfortable with it.

Usually get a great nights rest and enjoy that I can wake up, and put something on without having to "change". Will be sleeping nude tonight

I've started sleeping nude again, and surprise surprise: I'm not aroused by plain nudity anymore. Which means I can rest relaxed and comfortable without the need or urge to MB. Since I share the room, I do have a pair of boxers nearby, for emergencies or when needed. Definitely a habit worth pursuing.

At this point I find it challenging to sleep with clothes on, especially a shirt, but if I must then I must.

One day, while blissfully sleeping naked, an emergency occurred and I had to get out of the bed quickly. Agh, I had to put my underwear back on while my roommate was watching (who hates the idea of my sleeping naked). I did it under the covers, so there was no exposure, but the motion was obvious that I was pulling something up to my waist. It hasn't crept up in conversation, but I dare not push my luck with the topic. Has anyone gone through this scenario?

He has no more right to tell you what to wear to sleep than you have to tell him what to wear to sleep. Here are some possible 'talking points':

-If he tells you that he 'hates' that you sleep naked, tell him that you hate the fact that he DOESN'T sleep naked, since it is the most natural and comfortable way to sleep.

-Ask him why he thinks he has the right to tell anyone what to wear to sleep. Ask him if he'd like to have a law passed that prohibits everyone from sleeping naked.

-You could also take a different approach, and tell him that you hate the fact that he showers naked, and that you prefer that he covers up in the shower. Ask him why he thinks it is OK to shower naked and NOT OK to sleep naked.

-You might also change the subject and tell him that you don't like him masturbating. That will probably make him stop harassing you about sleeping naked.

You do indeed have the winning side of the argument.

His opposition might be jealousy. Maybe deep inside he'd like to be sleeping naked too. Just keep sleeping naked but don't keep making a big deal of it once you establish your right to do so. Maybe he will start sleeping naked too.

Texanguy has given you great advice here. And since he doesn't like to see you naked, he should train himself to avert his eyes from your naked body when you get out of bed to dress. Sleeping naked is not a sin nor is it any violation of human rights. He might be uncomfortable with nudity and that is his issue which he has to sort out himself. Just as long as you don't force your nudity on him like standing naked while talking to him and stuff it should be okay. You getting out of bed to put on clothes/a towel to cross the hall to take a shower (while he turns his head away) is no big deal. You are both guys anyway. You have what he has and he has what you have. No big deal.

How do you guys handle getting dressed in the morning? And does he shower with clothes on?

Sorry for the rant, but it just frustrates me how uptight us guys have become about being naked around each other. Even in Victorian times Western society wasn't so constrained as now.

You're right. I will try these arguments. I will continue to do my own thing, but hopefully he'll either join in the practice, accept it, or just ignore it.

So today I brought the subject of nude sleeping to my roommate. His reasons against nudity in general were that it is wrong, disgusting (fluids and other stuff), and unhygienic. I made the point that I shower thoroughly before heading to bed. He added that it is immoral to to be "publicly indisposed". I mentioned that babies are born in the nude, and that one of the major subjects of art is the nude form. This went on for hour and a half, after which he said that he would tolerate my nudity as long as I don't flaunt it, or make a show of it. idk if this is a step forward or backward from full acceptance, but I'm ok.

It's a step forward, BigJake. I'm glad you guys could talk this thing through.

Congratulation on starting and winning the argument! I think abstaining from MB has not only given you the ability to get a good night's sleep naked, it has given you the confidence to argue and win your right to do so.

Now I think you can use that hard won permission to sleep naked to help keep you abstaining from MB. After all, your roommate would think it would be strange if you stopped sleeping naked after your strong arguments in favor of it, so you can't go back to 'MB letdowns' and risk losing the confidence, interest, or ability to get a good night's sleep naked. Instead, you can use your situation to help keep you from MBing and move on to WDs as your outlet.

How did your roommate come to know that you sleep naked? Was it only because of the 'emergency' that night, or was it more obvious? Either way, with the new acceptance of it on his part, you don't need to keep it as hidden. You can wear just a towel (or less) after taking a shower on the way to bed, for example.

What does your roommate wear to sleep? His strong opposition to your sleeping naked at first might mean that he has a hidden desire to do likewise. Giving you permission to sleep naked, plus your example of actually doing so, may eventually result in his following your example.

My roomate comes from a very religious Catholic upbringing. He told me that as a kid, he would wear full-bodied pajamas until 8 years old. He the switched to button-up nightshirts and pajama pants. I, on the other hand, have always slept comfortably: an undershirt and boxers, or just plain boxers. As I grew up, I became a nudist, always looking for ways to do regular house activities in the nude. In my house, it was tolerated, because I had a locking door. But since I've started this college, it has been a hassle doing it. Texanguy: one of the reasons I'm a practicing nudist is to separate non-sexual nudity from sexual activities. This is done to control sexual urges.(plus it's fun and relaxing to be nude. It brings about a heightened awareness and concentration not found while clothed.)

I'm starting to believe that my roommate is either jealous of my freedom or closeted gay, because to any other person, this issue is of no consequence. But for him, it's become the front and center of few and far in between conversations.

I think there can an erotic component to non-sexual nudity that is enhanced and controlled by AB, hence the warnings you gave at the top of this topic.

But on the other hand, it can be argued that it is MB and its negative effects that create embarrassment and negative feelings about our bodies. I think it is difficult for an obsessive MBer to relate to "it's fun and relaxing to be nude. It brings about a heightened awareness and concentration not found while clothed." If AB allows us to properly enjoy our natural bodies, it is arguably superior to MB.

I think your roommate's strong arguments opposing you sleeping naked suggest that he may be aroused by nudity and covers up his interest as part of a post-MB letdown. Being aroused by nudity doesn't necessarily mean he's gay, but it might mean that he can become more accepting of relaxed nudity over time, so you might 'push the envelope' over time.

Does he ever see you naked now, or are you always careful to stay covered up when not in bed? It seems to me that you at least might be able to study wearing just a towel after showering and before going to bed.

-Definitively yes .

-I tried it a couple of times growing up but it wasn't until probably five years ago or so that I did it regularly. From my teen years on I always just slept in underwear so it wasn't the hardest transition in the world.

I sleep much better naked or just in underwear than with anything on, again unless I'm too warm. I end up getting knotted up in a shirt if i'm wearing it. Even with underwear on it has to be tighter underwear or I get that same wrapped around feeling sometimes.

Once I started a few years ago I do it almost every night. For my WD exercise I'm going to go back to wearing briefs or something just in case there is spillage. Many times when I end up starting the night in shorts I end up waking up naked anyway. I apparently sometime in the middle of the night decide I don't want them on anymore.

I'm on the last leg of the semester, so I'm studying pretty much all the time and can't answer as fast as I should on this forum. But, whilst I'm a nudist, I'm also aware that other people haven't (yet) been enlightened to the non-sexual joys of nudity, so I don't strut around the room with my birthday suit. However, I'm still sleeping in the nude, regardless of what his beliefs or opinions are.

I find it very comfortable, and I like the mental state being nude (by myself in my own room) puts me in. I also find that I dream of myself in the nude, which makes for interesting dreams, when I have dreams.

Even though I was very comfortable, I found I could not sleep at all. I was awake the whole night with a huge erection.

I haven't tried it since, but would like to sleep nude more often.

The one thing that keeps me from doing so, is that I am so stimulated when I sleep nude. I have a huge erection all night and I am afraid I'll get a WD. Sleeping nude makes WDs harder to clean up. Any solutions or suggestions would be welcome, I would like to sleep nude more often.
