You sounded pretty negative for some reason in your recent post... thinking about giving up AB etc. I joined this forum earlier after having one of the only WD experiences of my life after being too busy to think about sex for a while. It was a pleasant surprise and I wanted to meet and read about others who valued the same experience. I stumbled upon your log when I noticed there were so many posts, and I have been reading it for hours and your narratives are really compelling and your life is too interesting to just keep to yourself.

Your log is really quite incredible and you seem like a very genuine person and a great writer. I hope that, whatever you decide to do next regarding your AB or your life in general, that you do not stop posting and disappear like so many great forum personalities do once their life starts to change.

thx burroughs. i dont know whats up i just cant think of anything to write. cant tell u how many times ive written something and just deleted it b4 posting it. ive been down but i havent said anything about it cuz i think it just drives people away with my constant talk about it. i guess im not doing to good a job in keeping myself in a good mood though cuz everyone is questioning me about it lately. theres not really much going on with me. i still havent had a WD in some time but have been having a good number of dreams. had 2 more weird ones too. been frustrated that my WDs have basically gone away. i thought maybe it was because me and my gf were spending so much time together after she got back from japan but shes been busy with school and we havent been together much the last few weeks. my sleep schedule has been terrible and that and school schedule is prob the reason why im not having WDs, but theres not much i can do about it. i could go to sleep a bit earlier but i dont think i would have any WDs even if i slept an extra 2 hours and im not going to sleep any earlier than that so ill do what ive been doing and just deal with it. anyways im tired now so im gonna go to sleep. l8trz zach

if i'm in chat and you feel like letting off some steam then feel free to over a private convo as i don't mind reading peoples ramblings/rants and attempting to figure a way round it. not enough sleep will be the problem as it usually messes up dream recall, infact i think i will be having a nap soon as i feel quiet tired after staying up late last night. try and get 8 hours or more sleep and i think you will be back with the dreams, also not enough sleep makes me irritable/moody too

i was reading posts here on WDF about lucid dreaming.

Definition of lucid dream: A lucid dream, in simplest terms, is a dream in which one is aware that one is dreaming.

i didnt realize that lucid dreaming was that uncommon and i was curious as to how many of you have lucid dreams vs those that have not.

to me its very natural and i can remember having lucid dreams as far back as approx 4 years old. i have basically 2 types of dreams, at least this is how i categorize them, i have regular dreams and wet/nightmare dreams and ill explain the differences in my dreams.

Note: this is my opinion based on my experience only and i have no factual or scientific basis. this is just my 17 year old mind saying what i think. i have 2 types of dreams.

Regular dreams
This for me is my everyday dream that i get on a daily basis and can be lucid as well.

Wet/Nightmare Dreams
This is exactly what it says, either a wet dream (not necessarily to completion) or a nightmare however they are not lucid.

i think all dreams start out as a regular dream and can transition to the other type, meaning a regular dream can transition to a Wet dream or nightmare but not back from wet dream or nightmare to regular dream. i have regular dreams often im pretty sure i have several per night but its hard to say cuz i dont remember much about them when i wake up, i just know i had dreams. i could be several dreams thru the night or one dream with many different subjects but my feeling is they are seperate dreams most of the time and i base this on the fact that i have woke up during the night knowing i had a dream and friends/family who have seem me sleep and they say they can tell when im dreaming. i also have a lot of lucid dreams and i thought everyone had lucid dreams. i thought it was a normal thing but i guess not. i would say on average i have at least 2 or 3 lucid dream every week and this has been the case since i was very young. when i was about 3 or 4 years old i had a lot of dreams about dinosaurs chasing me and trying to eat me. i used to stay up very late cuz i was afraid to sleep. one day my mom came in prob around 2 am asking why i was still awake. i told her about the dreams and she said "its just a dream and the next time that mean dinosaur chases you i want you to turn and face him and tell him to go away" the next time i had the dream i did what my mom told me and it went away and i was fully aware i was dreaming and found i could change this in the dream. things like opening and closing doors and windows as i chose, changing the color of things, and flying. i have had reoccurring flying dream for a long time and i can control total flight, where i go how high how fast. this is actually a fun dream and upon waking up have been told i was laughing in my sleep.

now i have had my regular dreams transition to a wet dreams and nightmares. specifically my dinosaur and flying dreams both of which i have had since i was very young. for me when i transition from a regular/lucid dream to a wet dream there is no control whatsoever. the lucid dream ends and the dream has now become reality. reality in a sense that the dream is so real i can no longer distinguish it as a dream and things happen as in real life with no control. the dream ends ONLY when someone or something (alarm clock) wakes me up or dream concludes usually violently or with some major event which is so, i cant think of the word, like emotional or eventful in that i suddenly become aware and instantly wake up.

say im snowboarding down a hill and i round a corner and there is a building in my way, in a regular lucid type dream i would make myself stop or fly over the top, in a nightmare i would crash into the buliding and wake up the moment i hit the building realizing instantly is was a dream. it sometimes happens so fast im not sure if i wake up and then realize its a dream or i suddenly realize its a dream and wake up. most of the time i wake up first. either way i wake up usually very violent sometimes reacting to what what happening in the dream the moment i woke up. i gave my cousin a black eye once upon waking up and have hit david a couple times too.

i will briefly explain a couple dream examples that i have had recently.

im not sure when the transition occurs but i had a regular lucid dream about me and my gf. we were doing usual stuff we went to school then she wanted to go to the mall after and we are walking around and i remember walking around and i was aware it was a dream and i went to places i liked. we hold hands went to the food court and got some munchies. we walk by the womens lingerie store and i made a comment that she would look good in that and i give her a kiss and i pop a boner and my gf is like "zaaaaaaach not here" so i instantly transport us to a setting we like which is a little place by the lake we go to often and we are making out like crazy. this is where it gets real cloudy cuz this is approx the point where the dream transitions from regular/lucid to wet dream but im not exactly sure where. up to this point im fully aware then suddenly at some point im not and when i wake up i remember the last part and kinda put them together but the exact point im not sure of. this particular dream was like most of my sex dreams where my only goal was to get my dick inside my gf and cum. this may shock some of my friends here but this is the wet dream part and i cannot control what happens. just like in real life i try to have sex but how and when it occurs in the dream can vary and i have no control at all over it. its like real where what happens happens and i do what i would normally do in reality reacting to what happens in the dream but i cannot make myself do extraordinary things like in my reg/lucid dream. everything seems real including sensations such as taste, smell, touch etc. I can see the blue skys, i can feel the water, i can smell the eucalyptus trees, i can feel the air blowing against my skin, i can taste my gf when we kiss, its just so incredibly real. in the dream we have sex on a smooth flat rock that is in the water at the lake and it seems like it always takes a long time to cum, which i know will not be the case when it happens, but in the dream it does take awhile, prob cuz its a dream and it takes awhile for my mind to get me worked up enough but eventually it happens and that is the trigger event for me to wake up. the very moment i reach the point of no return in my dream i wake up and at that moment i cum. during this time im very disoriented cuz just a moment b4 i was on top of my gf having sex at the lake and now im seeing the ceiling of my bedroom.
then i have a short period of disappointment cuz i suddenly realize it was just a dream and i didnt just lose my virginity but it passes quickly. My heart rate is usually very high and im breathing hard and sometimes sweaty sometimes not so much. very much like when i jerk off.

another example of a transition dream is my falling nightmare which usually starts with me flying to a paintball tournament somewhere and having the game of my life cuz i can control everything and we re flying home i recall watching movies and chatting with friends and this is the grey area of the transition but eventually the plane breaks in half right at my feet and i fall. the fall takes forever and as im falling i am fighting in my mind whether to look at the ground and see the impact which will kill me or should i close my eyes a let it happen and die a seemingly peacefull death cuz it will happen so quick i wont know it when i impact the ground. i always choose to close my eyes and the fall takes really long time so long that i end up opening my eyes to see how far the ground is cuz it seems like i should have hit already. the moment i open my eyes i get a quick look at what appears to be my school parking lot and i hit, i hear a large crack as my skull hits the ground and that is the trigger that wakes me up. i have woken up so violently that i threw myself out of the bed and cracked my head on the dresser. one time i severely pulled a muscle reacting to the hit and one time i punched my cousin in the face so hard they thought i broke his nose. i have had this dream several times over the years and things that happen prior to the fall are always different and i make different things happen but the fall part is always the same. i hear and extremely loud noises as the plane breaks in half. i can smell smoke for a brief period and i feel the air blasting me in the face as im falling to the ground and at impact i see red which i assume is my blood as i hit. i told my parents about this dream and my dad said the red may actually be me looking through my closed eyelids as i suddenly wake up. i hate this dream. when i wake up, as in the wet dream i am very disoriented especially since i often end up on the floor, but instead of feelings of disappointment i am happy i didnt die and it was just a dream. my heart rate is prob twice normal and im covered in sweat and usually breathing very hard.

so for me Wet Dreams and Nightmares i put in the same category because they are seemingly real, i cannot control the dream, i can only control what i do and i cant change what i do once i do it and like in reality sometimes things happen before i do react. i am not aware im having a dream at all and things happen just like real and the same way they would occur for real. almost always have increased heart rate and breathng though nightmares are definately worst amd sweating is very common. they are never lucid and if at any point during the dream i become aware that it is a dream i wake up instantly. so for me i can go from lucid dream state to wet dream or nightmare but i dont think its possible to enter a lucid state from a wet dream or nightmare

regular lucid dreams can seem real most of the time but i can control every aspect of the dream most but not all of the time im aware its a dream. i have a lot of sensations and can control sounds, smells, colors etc. but they are not as vivid as with wet dreams and nightmares and details dont seem to be as pronounced as in wet dreams and nightmares. rarely wake up with any physical changes, except maybe a boner.

well that is my thoughts on lucid dreaming, let me know what u think.

oh one other thing ive found is that if a fall asleep during the day and only during the day, if you catch me just after i fall asleep im in a weird semi deep sleep state and if you talk to me ill talk back. i have had 10 min conversation with people while totally asleep and woke up not knowing anything about it.

oh one other thing i found with me is all my wet dreams or nightmares only occur if im real tired and take a nap during the day or during the last 2 hours of a 8 to 9 hour sleep period. any time i have had a wet dream prior to the last 2 hours it was because i sleep jerked and not an actual wet dream though there is usually a dream associated with it but not the deep sleep dream state i need to be in to generate a full on wet dream.

anyway thats it for now, let me know what u think.

Interesting observation....

I have often had "falling" dreams when I was younger, but I would never hit the ground, and the sensation of falling wouldn't last long, it would feel like just a short fall, but I would always "fall into my bed", and there has only been one instance that I can remember when I ended up on the floor after falling in my dream. It just happened to be a bunk-bed, too. So in the dream, I fell, landed in my bed (woke up with a sudden start), and then fell off the bed and landed on the floor. That was the weirdest falling dream, because I actually fell twice. Once in the dream, and then once in real life.

I also find it interesting that you experince hitting the ground in your dream, because I didn't know it was even possible. Everyone I have ever heard tell about falling dreams, is that they wake up the split instant before they hit the ground. I have often heard people say that if you die in your dream, you die in real life, but I guess you debunked that one...
