An interesting topic came up in chat today - circumsized versus uncircumsized, and what preferences different people have. I've often wonderred this myself, and decided to see what people have to say on the topic. How many guys that are cut wish they were uncut, and vica versa?

Well there are a few guys in the world that have gone from uncut to cut after maturity. ... If we are lucky someone might add there first hand experience to fill us cut guys in and lets us know how much difference it makes.

Just go onto a foreskin restoration forum like http://www.restoring-foreskin.org (if u are at least 18), and you can read many guys' stories of how things have changed over time, look at progress pics to see how things change over time, etc. it is a slow process that requires commitment--you don't just start tugging and the. Bingo! Have a foreskin. It can take years to get full erect coverage, if a guy wants that much. But most guys notice positive changes in restored sensitivity to their gland and better/more pleasurable shaft skin motility after only a couple of months.

Very interesting results, and I think parents should look at results like this before deciding to circumcise their infant sons. The results so far of this survey indicate that most guys here are circumcised (64%), but there is a major difference in satisfaction within the two groups. Only 10% of uncut guys would rather be circumcised, versus 50% of circumcised guys would rather be uncut. That's very telling right there that uncut guys tend to be more satisfied with their state, or looking at it another way, there is a much higher chance a guy that is circumcised will wish he was not circumcised.

Cut and really wish I wasn't. I just think it's so wrong. I was circumcised at birth and my parents said that they didn't have a choice. Btw, my Father is uncut. It was just what was done to all boys at the time I was born. I am going through the lengthy process of restoration but i will never get back what I lost. As I heard from the others, foreskin makes the glans more sensitive. If I were uncut, probably I would MB much more than ever, to reach that feeling. And AB could be harder to me. My willpower is not that strong.

That seems like a strange reason to justify being cut is ok though. That would be like giving a gambling addict a lower paying job so he doesn't have as much money to use for gambling. It doesn't feel as good for him because he can only bet smaller amounts instead of feeling the rush of a huge pot or having tons of money in play at the craps table. But it does nothing to address the fact he's addicted.

Given the choice, I'd rather have the higher paying job and I'd rather have foreskin. But I can respect the fact you are happy being cut.

Well, in fact, here in the U.S., one of the reasons why circ became so commonplace was in the late 1800s ppl were strongly anti-masturbation and they said that if a guy was cut he would be less likely to MB bec it wouldn't feel as good.

Well, stastically, i don't think there's any proof that circ, though it reduces some pleasure, reduces the typical guy's frequency of MB. From all the years I've been here, and we have tons of both cut and uncut guys from arnd the world, i have never noticed any trend of intact guys MBing more. In fact, some of our best abstainers have been intact. Although having a fren and more sensitive glans would make MB feel better, an intact guy also has the advantage of having his head covered most of the time, so there is less potential stimulation during the day I would guess.

Also consider that you won't be single and trying to not masturbate all your life! When you get married, don't you want sex to feel as good as it's supposed to?

There is another option for lads worried about "hygiene" but unwilling to go for the cut.

You can get the Tyson's glands cauterized. Those are the little white dots that live under the helmet and foreskin. Some lads seem to have a lot more of these musk-glands than others and get very self-conscious about them.

Only met one lad who had it done. Can't say I'd have noticed much difference. Looking it up online, I see they warn you that it leads to some drying out and toughening of the glans but you would - probably - retain most of your nerve-endings.

For the record, I'm a tight-skinned lad that's attracted to circumcision as a choice. If a lad makes the sacrifice to reduce his sensitivity, it is fascinating to me and I always love talking to lads who can compare before and after sensations. Lads cut as kids cut without their consent are much less interesting.
It is just human nature to adjust to circumstances (nearly a pun there!) and lads tend mainly to say they are content with the way they are. I have a lot of sympathy for lads who were robbed of any choice in the matter.

I have met a couple of lads who did not get the cosmetic effect they wanted from being cut: the really tight and desirable "porn-cut" is hard to get right, I gather and some dicks just seem to be stubborn. One lad I knew was in and out of the clinic for months to get "tidied-up" which is the sort of scene that really puts me off going for it. I guess quite a lot of demand is driven by porn because a high proportion of players in the business seem to have that tight look with the excised frenulum. I have actually known one lad who was unaware he was cut in childhood, because it left him with most of his skin but the scar tissue was obvious.

I know it grosses some lads out even to consider it but leaving the skin forwards and trusting to the natural secretions is not such an anti-social option as we are led to believe. My guess is that up to half the lads I have met do exactly that. It's annoying when people describe the natural odours as cheesy or disgusting - I've only rarely encountered anything like a dairy product there. Probably it just reflects the diet because I do know that fish has an effect.

Anyhow, it is often so intense and sweet that I think musk is a much better word than the awful "smegma" - notoriously the most-searched word on the Internet after Porn! Gay lads are often a bit squeamish about this aspect of sex. I'd say straight lads discuss the attractions of the female equivalent more freely!

Haha, good comparison. But isn't gambling addiction a bad habit? And that sounds like a good way to stop that addiction, reducing the joy. Also, the money that earned from gambling won't bring happiness, in my beliefs.

You're right, but it's about my will. I know my nature. And I said "probably", didn't say "certainly". But we can't know what would happen without experiencing it, we can only guess.

I too am cut and frankly I would rather be uncut. I wish that was a choice left for me and not made for me. If I ever have children, son I hope, I refuse to get him cut, unless it is medically necessary, which I feel I am intelligent enough to know if it came down to that need or not.

I wish I had the choice in being cut or uncut. I am not cut too tight, someone even asked me if I was uncut before, and I told them no. Which is a good thing, but over time I feel it is tightning up, much more now than years ago. I think being the way nature designed us is how we are meant to be. I understand some things are medically needed if that arises, but no need to go cutting skin off of males penises when they are a baby and have no choice in the matter. Basically I got raped of my own freewill and choice when I was first brought into this world. What a shame.

But it is done and I will just go on staying cut. I see no point in trying to do a resoration because it will not ever be the same. So I will just live how I am and do my best to ensure that my child never gets circumsized. May it be a male or female.

Welcome to forum. Interesing perspective on cut. I wish I was uncut because I think I might be missing out on some nerves and feeling down there. I had never really considered if cut 'looks' better. Maybe a topic for a future survey.

I am cut but i prefer to be uncut. Before I reach 12 yrs old I have a foreskin that glides along my shaft and my shiny glans that is moist and more sensitive like the feeling of the part below the eyelid. You'll have youre glans dried out and have less sensitivity on since its dry already. Also, the gliding motion and sensitivity of the foreskin obviously would be removed. I personally advise for you not to undergo such procedure. It is way better to look natural down there for me.
