Last evening I was watching a silly movie on HBO (my flatmate had left the TV tuned to HBO and I had turned it on, with the sound off, while talking on the telephone with a friend from my 12-Step program); I noticed there was a lot of eye candy on the screen, but I didn't really know what was going on in the movie because I had the sound turned off. I was just enjoying seeing the pretty girls in sexy outfits. It occurred to me that I was watching HBO and that meant the film would be aired unedited, and within a few minutes of that occurring to me, there was a scene in which a female takes off her dress while alone with a guy in a hotel room. She wasn't wearing a bra. So I saw her boobs for about a half a second, and immediately turned off the TV. I told my friend that I was talking to what had happened. I was really not sure if I had lost my sexual sobriety and would have to reset my sobriety clock. So I didn't want to post here until I had talked to my sponsor in the program about it. He has recently attained one year of sexual sobriety through rigorous adherence to the 12-Step program. Previous to that, he had 8 or 9 months of sobriety. He told me not to worry about it; it is almost impossible to avoid inadvertently seeing nudity now and then, unless you never watch TV or movies. He told me I did the right thing and unless I was engaging in an activity that I was powerless over (i.e. looking at internet porn) there was no reason that I should consider my sobriety lost. That was reassuring. But a part of me still felt guilty for having the TV on and tuned to HBO in the first place, like I should have changed channels as soon as I realized it was on HBO. I didn't seek out images of nudity, and wasn't expecting them, yet I knew it wasn't outside of the realm of possibility. Since I turned off the TV immediately (within 1 second), I am considering it not to be a slip. But it was definitely a slippery situation as I was really tempted to go back and watch the whole movie on HBO On Demand just so I could see that scene again. Part of me (my addict?) wanted to say fuck it, I have lost my sexual sobriety already, so I might as well fast forward to the nude scene and watch it again, or watch some other movie that has nudity in it. I browsed through all of the movies available on HBO On Demand, and during the first couple of minutes of each one it says what the rating is and why (brief nudity, sexually suggestive dialogue, sexual situations, nudity, strong language, etc.). I browsed for awhile to see what movies that are available On Demand have any nudity in them, such as Titanic (Kate Winslet is completely naked while Leonardo DiCaprio is drawing her picture, and that is only rated PG-13!) I thought about watching Titanic or any of the others that had nudity (e.g. Get Him To The Greek). I watched the first 10 minutes or so of "Hall Pass," the movie that I had first inadvertently turned on (with the sound off) and then I went to bed. I told my sponsor that, at least for the first 3 to 6 months of my sexual sobriety, I would not go to any films at the cinema that I knew had any nudity, but if I saw some inadvertently, I would not consider it a slip; after that period of time, I would reassess whether I really need to make a point of avoiding all nudity in cinema.

Monday I was a couple of minutes late coming back from lunch, so I had to reset Clock #4.


While trying to fall asleep last night, I was dreaming, while half awake, about looking at a magazine with nude photography, and it showed all the various categories of breast size and shape. There was also a baseball player at bat with a transparent crotch section of his pants, which was weird.

Well done on resisting Ronald. I agree, I think if you inadvertantly see something, that should not break your run. As for me, I also saw a film last night, and it had nudity in it. But I was enjoying the film, so kept on watching it, and then later it had even more full frontal nudity and then some sex scenes. I knew I should stop watching, but I kept on watching. So it's fair to say, I've had a couple of slips in the last couple of weeks.

WD #4 of 2012 this morning at about 4 a.m. That's four in only 54 days! That is a record for me. I am on track for 27 WD's in 2012. Unfortunately, all I remember is the ejaculation.

I was late coming back from lunch so I will reset my day counter for number of days showing up ON TIME for all work shifts, meetings, etc. (GRRRRR!). Only about a minute, but I shooting for perfection in not being late for anything anymore.

I am surprisingly horny considering it's been less than 48 hours since my last orgasm (during a WD)...the day after, or maybe days 2 & 3 after is always a dangerous time for maintaining AB.

I accidentally saw, for a split second, a still image from a video capture on the first thread of the new section of WDF, "Adults Only." I really don't know why I even clicked on the thread, but I was definitely not trying to see any photos or video of nudity, clicked back within about a quarter of a second, before my eyes even focused enough to figure out exactly what was in the foto. I don't want to have to reset my sexual sobriety because I did not intend to see that; on the other hand, I don't know why I was even in that section, just curious to see if I would be able to access it, I guess. I thought there might be videos with nudity, but I thought if there were, there would be a link to click to open the file, not a video capture. Personally I think that this new section is just stupid and unnecessary.

I know that this is going to disappoint many of you, but I have decided not to participate in Chat Room anymore. I'm sorry...I have enjoyed chatting with many of you, but I don't think it is a productive use of time or particularly helpful to my recovery. If I need to chat, I am happy to say that I have other sources of support and strength.

Tomorrow will be day one of my sexual sobriety. I will refrain from posting here on WDF until I have got 14 days of sexual sobriety.
AB is still going at 56 Days.

Hi RR. Well done on your sexual sobriety. Again, I think you're too harsh on yourself, as I do not think what you did would constitute a break in your sexual sobriety. However, we each need to make our own decisions as to what is acceptable and what is not. I thank you for helping me throughout February. I also tend to agree with your comments regarding the new section. Will look forward to your next post, when you are up to 70 days of AB. Keep on going.

First post in a couple of weeks:

For the foreseeable future, I'm going to post only only once every week or two, plus when I have a WD. Maybe only on Saturdays, perhaps. Also, I'm going to spend less time reading others' logs...sorry! Yesterday, I met several awesome females, some of whom I approached, some of whom approached me...I don't think of myself as a mack daddy, but the sexual energy I sometimes emit is powerful, and I don't think I had it when I was MB regularly, at least not to the same extent. It's the "T-buzz." It's not purely sexual, it's also just being more sociable. I am disappointed that Zach is not going to update the NO MB Challenge Chart anymore, I hope he will reconsider, but I understand.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! It is worth it, even if it takes a very long time to have a WD, or if you never have one, purely for the improved outlook on life, dating, self-image, etc.

A few more thoughts to share: the last few days of February were extremely hard to get through, I was so tempted to give in, not so much to MB, but to looking at porn. The cravings were so powerful. I knew that I would not MB even if I did look, but I came very close to looking several times. I have a filter installed on my notebook computer, but not my iPod. Feb. 26 is my new sobriety date. If you have a serious problem with porn, you may write to me privately to ask me about my 12-step program.

I'm not quite sure whether or not to continue this log...I'm not sure being on this web site is the healthiest thing for me. Until I figure this out, I will only post on Sundays.

It's been 24 days now since my last WD, I think I'm overdue. I have had a couple of orgasms in my sleep, though, but not with PC muscle contractions. Sometimes while asleep, I orgasm and have PC contractions but no ejaculation ( a dry dream), sometimes I have an orgasm with no muscle contractions at all. I think sometimes when I awake feeling really refreshed, it's because I had a very long, low-level orgasm while asleep, not necessarily one I remember.

Mate, totally get you. Porn started rulling my life and got to the point where i needed it to get off and would wake up to watch it and be late catching the train because of it. I have lowered it to once a week and hopefully i can quit it all together along with MB. Good luck on your goal, i hope you achieve it man!

I have decided to only post on Sundays. And drastically cut back on how much time I spend reading others' posts on WDF.

I am still waiting on WD #5 of 2012. I have been waiting on it for 31 days now! Aaaaargh! Damn!

I have avoided MB so far in 2012. (Day 85 of NO MB.) I wish ZC would change his mind about updating the NO MB chart, but I understand. In regards to sexual sobriety (not looking at porn and similar online content), not so good. Today is Day 1. Also, Day 1 of showing up ON TIME for all work shifts and meetings. Attended 12-step program meeting today.
