Practising religious devotions associated with your denomination is a good way to distract you from masturbation and bring you closer to God. An Anglican like myself will be reading the bible and practicing devotional activities. godd Christians come in all sorts of denominations and practices. But there are core beliefs we all share.

My view is that masturbation by itself is not evil. But, many of the thoughts associated with it, the use of porn etc. are evil. So, for most of us, masturbation is something we should reject. For me, masturbation takes me in a sinful direction and thus is sinful and wrong.

When I was a teenager, my Mom caught me masturbating. She told me "masturbation is sinful and wrong". She had my Dad remove the lock from my bedroom door.

When she caught me masturbating again, she called her sister who was an RN. My aunt took me under her wing and told me that although she was religious she was not fanatical like my Mom and she did not believe it was sinful and wrong to masturbate, but that my mom did. She taught me that it is possible to self climax without touching one's genitals and without being nude. She told my Mom that I had to perform certain "exercises" at least once a week, ideally twice a week, and that I should be dressed in just my underwear during the exercises. My aunt bought me some underwear - very snug blue briefs with white piping and a very snug blue with white piping ribbed athletic shirt undershirt - a dozen pairs of each. My aunt explained to my Mom that I might have a discharge and this was normal and quite OK and the underwear would take care of the discharge. My aunt also explained that I might get an erection, but if Mom wished, this could be prevented by giving me some tablets that had an antihistamine and a decongestant in them.

My Mom was OK with the exercises which she called "sessions". I was to have a session every Saturday morning, starting before breakfast and continuing after breakfast. I was also to have a session every Tuesday evening before bedtime. For the Saturday morning session, I was to eat my breakfast in just my underwear. I was to drink two large mugs of strong coffee [my aunt explained to me that this would help me to achieve a strong climax and keep me from getting sleepy if Mom gave me the tablets]. For the Tuesday evening session, there was to be no coffee, and my aunt cautioned me that if Mom gave me the tablets I might fall asleep before achieving a climax.

The session occurred in my bedroom with the door wide open, me on my bed in my briefs and undershirt, my hands either clasped behind my head or gripping the headboard, me laying on my backs. My Mom would come into my room with a glass of water and a couple tablets.

My mother would frequently check on me, either glancing through the open doorway or sometimes she would sit in a chair in my room to watch me. This was so I wouldn't be tempted to "touch myself".

If my Mom noticed an erection, she would get a couple more tablets and some water - if when she came back the erection was gone, she would just leave them there, but if I still had an erection, I received the double dose.

As the months wore on, I noticed something - if during my session I thought about girls and pictured them in my mind, I was likely to get an erection, but if I thought about boys and fantasized about male on male pleasure, I seldom got an erection yet I was as likely, or more likely even, to obtain a climax within a reasonable period of time. I didn't mind being sleepy Tuesday evening, but I did want to do other things on a Saturday, so I usually thought of girls Tuesday evening [thus trigger a double dose] and boys on Saturday morning, thus avoiding the need for a double dose.

It could have been worse, a lot worse. I can see why it seems bizarre - quite frankly it was bizarre.

My aunt was kndness itself - coming up with a methadology which would allow me to masturbate yet be ok with my Mom.

As for impact on me - it fermented a life-long underwear / undershirt fetish and the ability and desire to achieve orgasm without touching myself. It perhaps also fanned the flames of some built in gay tendancies.

If this is true, sorry, but your Mom was a perverted b*tch. That is cruel and wrong. And even your aunt's advice made no sense. How does an antihistamine and decongestant prevent an erection? How were you able to have an orgasm/ejac while just lying on your back? Sounds made up. But regardless of the past, now you are plagued with sexual self-hatred. You really need counseling. And I don't mean that in a put-down way. You seriously have major sexual repression issues and self-hatred of your masculinity. It's no surprise why, if this is indeed a true story. You have fetishized even your sexual abuse as a child, it comes through clear as day in how your write your story. That is not healthy. I'm not saying that to condemn, but to emphasize that you need to process this with a licensed professional and dig deep for inner healing. That is not who God created you to be. Your mother was deceived by a religious spirit, a perverse one, that has nothing to do with Christ or with true holiness.

Where was your Dad in all of this?
