When I get the flu, the real flu, I am totally zapped for 3 days. No libido and at best weak and short term erections. Usually I take an over the counter decongestant / antihistamine and that then eliminates any erections. The first sign I am getting better is my libido coming back. But even if I stop taking the meds, it takes several days for the erections to return.

When I get a cold, even a bad one, my libido is still strong and erections still strong. But, if I take a cold medicine as mentioned above, the erections go. If I just take one dose without follow up, erections return in about 8 to 12 hours. If I take the meds every so many hours for 3 days, it can be one to two weeks before my erections return. While the cold meds for me make me impotent, they do not diminish my libido in the least!
