So This will be my first entry of hopefully a long one. I am truly tired of being addicted to mb and porn. So I am going to try and stop. So far I did try with no luck to stop and abstain. I fell off the wagon so to speak yesterday, and today I felt unhappy because it feels like my hands are tied and I cannot stop.

Long story short, I am a christian and I became addicted to Mb because of this feeling I get when it is done. Now I realize that I would rather quit this habit of mine and depend on God to give me satisfaction. I would value all of your support and suggestion how to stay on the wagon and develop an habit. It is a very hard habit to break, I know because I did try without any success lately for the last year or so.

I will be starting school, hopefully that will make it much harder for me to have "idle time" which lead me to mb/porn.

So wish me luck as I start day 1.

It's very good to hear that you have the determination to stop MB habit.
Me personally are getting rid of this problem too. Porn and MB is tearing my life apart sometimes.
I don't want bring this destructive power to my family and so I decided to quit it about 1.5 months ago.

Certainly it's hard. I had my first streak up to 35 days and 2 streak only last for one day.
I am now on 3rd streak and it's been 10 days so far.
To be honest, it's difficult to get rid of these two things but it's possible.
I found it much easier to overcome my own desire/sexual urge by refraining from pornography and from thinking doing it.

At times, it's really hard to endure especially when you have strong urges.(Sometimes you will have the rock-hard boners too and that's the toughest time.)

However, that is the time, you may either get a really cold shower, a cold drink or even say a prayer and ask for strength to overcome the urge.

Whenever you find out that you are browsing porn stuff, JUST LEAVE THE SPOT AND LEAVE THE SITUATION! just as Joseph left Potiphar's house when Potiphar's wife is seducing him.

I tried to do all the things all at the same time. However, sometimes, sometimes I might still fell a little off the wagon and hanging on it.(When tempted very hard, I watched some porn but I felt so much regret even though I didn't MB. I would repent for my transgression about the breaking the law of chastity that I watched porn and I would pray for forgiveness. ) Then I would move on and move forward and tell myself that I MAY NOT DO THIS AGAIN and refrain myself from porns.

So far, I am still fighting with it yet I think I will hold on.
I keep telling myself that there will be a greater prize, whether in real stuff or the WD.
Things DO go better and better.

Just keep in mind that you are strong and you may overcome this habit and I know you can do it.
I will be rooting for you and praying for you, too.

Well, its day 3. So far, no temptations. but I know eventually I will struggle hard. Thank you for the kind comments, and support. It would be very interesting week for me because I am starting school tomorrow,(secondary education). I had a nice day yesterday, went to church, and afterwards went to a friends home to continue discussing the bible, So very productive day.

Its day 5. Still fine so far. School is interesting so far, a bit frustrating because its boring. haha. Im sure a lot of you can relate to that. School has left me so fatigued that by the time I get home, I just fall asleep. Oh well, but the biggest concern I have is next week, I will go back to work on top of my attending School.. So it will be a big challenge to juggle both work and school. hope it won't be too bad for me.

Anyway, I will keep you guys posted.

So its been 7 days so far. I had an interesting week, Focused more on my studies. Still facing the dilemma of staying at my job and continue doing my studies. School went well, made some new acquaintances however, sometimes I can't help but feel like a mascot because Im different than everyone else. If you're curious what, You can ask me.

Now its the weekend, at long last, Now i can go and have a great time, but I will be very busy.

Well.... Its day 13,

It seems that my schedule for school and work is making me too fatigued to actually fall off the wagon, so to speak.

But lately, Im encountering morning wood which is sometimes irritating. But then I am too tired to do anything about it as I have to wake up at an shockingly early 5 am in the morning. I haven't had any dreams lately, I guess its because I go to bed at 11 pm, and it is having a cumulative amount of tiredness to me. School, then work until 10 pm, then go to bed. crazy hours.

So its day 17.
Its getting ridiculous. every time I go to sleep, or take a shower, or whatever, I get excited ( if you know what I mean). I had a dream last night, It was not a wet dream. I dreamt that I wanted to look at porn, but was unable to do that. oh well. I gotta keep fighting this eh?

Its day 20. whew. I made it this far. its been a very hard trek. Still struggling with my thoughts and my wanting to mb and look at porn. Like they about your mind being altered by porn. I gotta let nature take its course with me. It also helps to be extremely busy, it left me too tired to do anything and even with no time to go online.

Because I attend college, I might consider leaving my job because my job is stealing way too much time from college, I barely have enough time to study. Oh well. Wish me luck.

School has been a heck of a time. Sometimes I feel old being in school, where everyone is pretty much fresh out of high school, while Im 17 years out of high school. Things that would come easy to them, is very hard for me. ha. for example, trying to understand the concept of how electricity work, and how to calculate electrical ohms and amperes and voltages, I simply cannot wrap my head around them.
Not only that, math, boy, what a class. hard for me to understand, considering I hated math and flunked math in high school.
On top of that, I also have work which is stealing time from me. Like a famous saying, "so much to do, so little time."

On the plus side, because of my schedule, its proving nearly impossible for me to fall off the wagon. But I am planning to quit my job so I can get some help with my math.

On a personal note, Its funny, the longer I stay off porn and mb, i noticed that i lose my desire to look at porn and do mb. I still struggle with getting hard on and stuff. Just the other day, I was exercising, riding the stationary bike up to the point where i felt euphoria in my exercise. I suddenly started to get a hard on. Which is pretty embarrassing to have in a gym full of athletes.

Luckily i got it under control.

anyway, still need your support and help so that I can let my body do things naturally,

well. overall i went 31 days without mb and porn.

Pretty good, so slap me silly on my back congrats.

As usual classes are the same, challenging, hard, but somehow I enjoyed it because Im learning new things everyday. I still haven't quit my job yet. Its hard for me to actually muster up the "anger" to quit when I am not even angry at my job.

So far I am doing good, sometimes I would get excited, but I had to remind myself that its a normal body function to get excited down there... and I would just try to ignore it and it would go away.

Now Im plumb tuckered out. So good night folks.

Hi Dreamtraveller, I totally understand where you are coming from. I am a Christian too and it isn't easy especially with the guilt.

I thought I broke the habit a while back only to find myself neck-deep back in it.

I fell this past weekend.

One thing I struggle with is the longer I abstain, little thing makes me excited, then Its annoying. that is what happened last weekend, I got hard on, then it wouldn't go away. Irritating.

I will strive to do my best and stay strong. My goal is to break my habit of mb and sometimes looking at porn.

Since you are in fact a Christian, that's a great start. I too am one and like you, I have tried to stop in the past without much success. The longest I have gone without an orgasm was 26 days. The longest I have gone without porn and masturbation was significantly shorter than that though. I would say maybe a week.

However, over the past couple of weeks, something truly amazing happened in my life. I prayed to God about my porn/masturbation addictions and told Him to let Him be in charge of helping me break my habit. I have dedicated regular time to God to replace some of the time I would have spent doing porn/masturbation. I'm also part of a small group at my church and feel that helps. I've been clean for fourteen days now except for a couple of minor slip-ups with masturbation about a week in. I truly am feeling God's power helping me and I know He can help you too. I really believe that I now have what it takes to finally break these horrible habits that have controlled my life for years.

A couple of non-faith based things I also think helps me out are wearing pants when I'm on the computer and finding something else to do to replace your time with porn/masturbation. For me, I dedicate time to God every day and play video games. I feel that keeping yourself busy really helps too, but praying to God and turning to Him really is what's making this time different for me.

Keep in mind, of the two addictions, porn is the more sinister one. In fact, the really sinful part of masturbation is the thoughts that go with it.

If you slip up, masturbate without porn. Keep you thoughts as pure as possible. For example, a married man on a business trip who closes his eyes in his hotel room, door locked, and thinks about making love to his wife upon his return while stroking is a very different story than the same guy stroking while watching porn or fantasizing about doing his secretary.

Just as Viagra and Cialis encourage erections, there are some things that will discourage erections. For some that may be helpful.

Back to square one. I had a bender recently. Not good.

Have you noticed that when you do have free time or idle time, the temptation to do mb/view porn increases. Because in my experience, when I was at school, and working at my job, my days were like all study/work, and sleep, absolutely no idle time, too exhausted to even have free time. I simply had no time to view porn and do mb. Since I quit my job so i can improve my grades (my grades were slipping because of work taking away time to study), my temptation increased slightly. However, I am still obsessed in improving one of my classes as it is failing due to my lack of understanding.

So I guess its important to really keep myself busy, avoid boredom, and idle moments. Like one of my posts mentioned, Get out of the house, ride a bike, run, or whatever to get my mind off it.

Just a thought.

Thank God its the weekend. Electrical current calculations are giving me a biggest headache these past few weeks. Oh well...

as for my wet dream goals, Still haven't reached it. I am wondering do age have something to do with that? Because when we are young, like teenagers, boy, hormones are raging, so very easy to get wet dreams, but when we get older, the hormones slow down. Just a thought, Any feedbacks about this age thing?

Well, Nov 1, I wiped my slate clean, so that means so far its day 7.
Im still struggling to overcome my addiction to porn.

I found that the longer I abstain from mb and porn, the harder it is to ignore my physical desires, and mental desires.

Irritating, ain't it?

You are making progress so keep up the good work! To break one habit you often need to start another, something positive and enjoyable. Find whatever works for you.

You tried and thats the main thing..From what i read you have done so well.

Even so, it is much too hard to even try to stop. The record I had was 78 days, then I made the mistake of just do mb one time even though I did not have the urge. Mentally I wanted to do it. Physically the desire was not there. But once i did it, i could not get back on the wagon so to speak.

Thats the most irritating thing to know.

I am just wondering how many people struggle with mb when they realize that they tend to mb as a form of self medicating. for example, when you feel sad or stressed. If so how do you develop a better self control? I appreciate any answers.

Hello.
Self-control, and self-discipline are two very subtle things. But at the heart of both of them is Motivation. Motivation also is of two kinds, external and internal. External for example you can get here, but it is several times weaker than the internal.
The structure of the discipline is simple.
1. Goal (properly set and the main thing that she was yours)
2. Motivation (the basis of internal, then external)

If the goal is not far-fetched, but honestly you were right, Then you need to find the internal motivation through the questions: what will this give me what benefits will I receive and more.
If you connect the correct purpose and motivation, and every action their estimate on the principle: " what does it me to my goal?" ... Then it will be easier to achieve goals.

Wishing everyone a happy new year for 2015.

Basically, a news year resolution will not work for me. But here is my attempt. I will try to start off 2015 by abstain more and reduce my addiction to mb and porn. I'd like your support in my plans.

Its been an interesting christmas break for me. Found 2 mouse in my apt, freaked out and finally caught them, was totally lazy and watched too much tv. I guess I needed that because I spent a very difficult semester in college. Of course, being lazy is a bad idea when I m addicted to mb and porn. I succumbed to it too often. Also my car broke down only 3 days after picking it up from the mechanics. So that totally ruined my day.
Next week I will start college and I am sure it will keep me crazy busy and hopefully help me reduce my time spent on porn and fixation on mb.

well an update for everyone. Its been 7 days. What a beginning of 2015. I was hit with a nasty bout of stomach flu which left me incapacitated and unable to do anything except lie there on couch and vegetate myself. it lasted 3 days. Even today, I still feel the effect of that flu. I am glad I am doing much better today, School is good so far. a sudden surprise for me as I had 3 weeks of holiday and now Im super busy with lots of homework and studying.

OH well Thats life eh.

Well.

It feels like I m talking to a wall here.

Its been 2 days. and all is quiet.



I kept on doing the same thing over again. So It makes no difference. Luckily School has been interesting for me to keep myself busy. So far I am enjoying myself learning about new things and improving my skills.

The most difficult part of being on line is what to look at. Most of my interest are things that I'd rather be actively participating in for example, Climbing, rather than just looking at. I know there are oodles of youtube clips on climbing, but it is a bit depressing when Im watching, but I would rather go out and have fun actually climbing.

Reading, I love reading but School is taking lots of my time so I can't really read my favourite genre.
Biking, My most absolute favourite activity to do, but seeing how its January, and there are a foot of snow outside and cold enough to freeze my joints. so Its out of the picture.
Going to the gym, for sure, I enjoy going to the gym, but would appreciate some variety in my daily activity.

Cannot wait until Spring when I can dust off my bike and roam the forest once again.
