I might as well record this here.

As of today, I've counted 53 days without porn or erotic images, which is my main goal. Doing that led to less interest in normal masturbating, but I was still horny, and I decided I missed the wet dreams enough to abstain in order to get one. I had many as a teen and they stopped once I started masturbating.

Today is day 14 of abstaining. The first 7 days were ok but its gotten more difficult every day, so I'm going to try posting here. Especially since the only two times I've counted abstaining before were 14 days and 19 days, so I'm already past my record (the 14 days were forced on me so I could let some stitches heal, and the 19 days I'm not too sure about).

Today, 14 days in, I had a spontaneous ejaculation for the first time ever. I don't know if that's good or bad...

With your SE, did it happen and feel like orgasm, and what were you doing at the time? I'm just curious since I've never had one.

It's getting very difficult, particularly in the morning. I wake up (no WDs), can't get back to sleep, and twice now have tried to MB using only my mind (that seems to be the only way I can resist touching myself). Mostly, that has meant lying in bed for hours wasting time, sort of enjoying it, and not even close to orgasm or ejaculation. I'm sure years of MB has made me need touch to get off, I hope I'll get used to the change. I won't have hours in the morning to lie around for another 5 days, so I think I'll be put to the test.

People say that abstaining will lead, eventually, to being more clearheaded during the day, being more interested in the opposite sex, etc etc, and while I've noticed a certain clarity of mind that I've been missing for months now, I feel tired/anxious/unfocused if I try to do anything or talk to anyone. Which means overall, I don't feel any different, as those cancel out...

I hit day 19, which topped my previous record, but then I was half asleep and forgetting what I wasn't supposed to be touching, and EJ'd without O. That both cleared my head, but made my balls feel uncomfortable. Today, I MB'd (not very pleasurable) in order to reset how it felt.

So, from today, I'll be aiming for 30 days of AB. I still feel the benefit of only having MB'ed a couple times in the last 4 weeks, so I have high hopes, and a post in this forum gave me an idea which should make me able to block myself from giving into temptation.

My first day in a long time that I didn't have to get out of bed, but I somehow managed to resisted the urge to give in that lying in bed gets me.

I had one of the most lucid dreams I've had in a long time, I was completely aware I was asleep, I opened my eyes in the dream knowing my real ones were staying closed. It didn't last long, I realized (in the dream) that I had to pee, but this is the sort of dream I see becoming a WD if it goes well.

Day 14 of AB, Day 81 of no porn.

I've been thinking about my motivations quite a lot, since I've been really horny the last few days, and being really tired stopped me from giving in. I really do want an orgasm with a woman, in a dream, or without touching, in about that order...

I've also been thinking of using MB as a reward for exercising twice a day, since I really need the excercise but don't usually want to.

Lets see if I can use those two ideas to push me past 3 weeks

I don't seem to have any urge to MB in the "normal" way anymore, just lots of inspecific horniness.

I find I'm either more clearheaded than usual, or much, much more tired than usual. I also find that my thoughts turn towards attractive girls, very quickly and very distractingly.

I've been wondering what my goals for AB are. This time around I wanted to pass my record, which I've done, but I also want to learn to break the habit of using MB to pleasure myself. I was hoping dreams, first, would replace it. I'm actually getting tired of the feeling of ABing, its sometimes good but very exhausting...

I decided to break my AB, since I was feeling quite a bit worse than usual. I did break it without using my hands, instead I used one of those showerheads that you can move around and adjust the setting on, so I haven't touched myself in 24 days.

So, at day 2 now, and I've noticed a lot of improvements over the last few days of AB. Its weird comparing before and after. MBing felt awesome, and like it was relieving a LOT of pressure on me, pressure that was making me distracted and unfocused while awake, and unable to sleep. I do notice that I feel like I'm missing some sort of driving force that AB had given me, and I feel a lot more laid back, I guess that's the lack of a 'buzz' that some people here describe. I'm still really sensitive and horny, and I'm starting to remember dreams again, so I think a WD is about as likely as it was before.

I think the trick now is to find out how often it is best to MB. Experience, and accounts on this forum, suggest that at an absolute minimum, 7 days, maybe even 10, to reset the body after every time, but I think 21+ days is more than I want.

Keep going on your quest. Those feelings that you have of the pressure you can learn to enjoy it takes time but I at least am starting to see that's its worth it. You are so far into this and have done so good. We are all here to help you and each other bro.

Hmm. Enjoying the feeling of pressure seems a bit far-fetched, but that might just be because I have a lot of different pressures right now, starting with a job that needs changing.

Either way, it took more than one MB to lower the pressure enough for me to be ready for March. It felt pretty good though.

I think I'm going to have to do this in cycles, until I find the right number of days to go for. I figure the longest I would ever want to consider is 30 days. I mostly need my body to remember how to WD.

Tomorrow, March 1, will be day 1, and I figure I can go more than 22 days this time. It's a long road to WDs, I'll try to be patient with it.

Day 7. Nothing to report, except I haven't been very horny lately. Even my dreams are boring...

I might try going medium-length periods of ABing, rather than one long try. It's much less stressful.

So, on that note, March 9-24 is 15 days. Maybe another 15 now?

indeed, that sounds like a complicated counter, heheh. i'm a shift worker and i find that if i eat something with dairy on it (like yoghurt or cheese on toast) helps me get back to sleep.

Day 13.

I've been trying a few new things. I have a support strap that's basically underwear that only covers my penis and balls, and I've been wearing it to sleep instead of the tight boxers or briefs that others here like but I find uncomfortable. For the last few days, every time I wake up, I'm wet with a bit of precum, which is very unusual for me (I don't really get any even when I MB).

My new goal is to go for 15 day AB periods, but only MBing once in between, not giving in multiple times.

So far so good, because last night I was having vague but very long dreams (i was on a beach), and I woke up during one to find myself humping the mattress and very close to ejaculating. I held it in and tried to go back to sleep, but I slept too fitfully after that to dream for very long. So close!

Day 1. My plan for 15-day AB's turned into 5 days, then 5 days, then 7 days. It's very hard to convince my brain and body that I *want* a wet dream more than I *want* to ejaculate...

Day 2.

I was reading about breaking habits and addiction recovery, and realized that the reason I was able to quit porn so easily (156 days, minus maybe 3 relapses where i looked a bit but didn't MB), but keep losing AB after 7 days, is because I never looked at porn before I was about 18, 9 years ago, but I've been MBing in some way or other since I was 11, 16 years ago.

I'm coming to the unpleasant realization that at the point I'm at, I am going to have to AB for a longer period to break the rest of the cycle, and I am NOT looking forward to the stress that causes...

I've been very busy lately, and then I was struck down by a stomach bug. But, thanks to both of those, I'm being pretty strict with my AB, and my AB from porn (I just stomped an urge to give into that, and I'm glad). I'm pretty optimistic this time.

Day 14

On days off, like today, I wake up very horny and that's made me lose AB several times now, but today I resisted touching anything. I did lie in bed a while and focus on the feelings but that didn't accomplish anything, and I didn't get hard at all

I've had some really nice sexy dreams, and I had a moment where I was at work yesterday on the computer and falling asleep and then almost leaked a bit into my pants, but no wet dreams from that.

I've gone past 15 days a few times, and as far as 19 and 22 days, so I have to keep going, long enough to reset whatever switch in my brain stops WDs

Day 19

I had an awesome dream last night. I was watching some sort of show in a set of bleachers, and a really hot girl was sitting beside me and chatting with me. And then, she was sitting on my lap, and putting my hand in her pants. And then, I started cumming, a little bit and slowly, woke up in my bed in my room, and was excited to be able to post about my first WD here on the boards. And I barely had any mess to clean up, and my penis was still slowly pulsing.
And then, I woke up, for real this time, totally surprised that the last bit had been a dream. There was no mess whatsoever, the pulsing was real but I was completely dry, and had to pee.

So, I just dreamed, very vividly, that I had a WD.

That was awesome, I want to do that again, and so I'll keep going, and in 4 days, on Day 23, I'll break my previous record.

Day 21

As part of abstaining, I've (mentally) accepted SE's as being possible, even if they delay a WD, since my goal is as much to teach my body to release without MB as it is to get a WD. So, in the mornings, when I used to wake up and really want to MB, if I have time I lay back and focus on the feelings that used to make me MB. This has never given me a hands-free orgasm so far. Today, though, I was tempted to try a little harder than I usually do, and then go and have a bath, and I almost hit the point of no return. Since I did try, it would have been MB, and I would have had to reset my counter. I resisted.

It's good that 21 days makes me feel good enough to actually hit the point of no return, but now I have to spend the rest of the day walking, and at the gym, and anything else that will distract me from the feeling of being so close. I really do want to go long enough to be sensitive enough to hit the point of no return without even trying. Stay strong!

I am curious about the whole SE thing. I also like the idea of being able to 'think myself off' as an eventual alternative to MB. I am also hypothesising that this ability may help in training the brain to not need physical stimulation, thereby increasing the chances of a WD.

When you say you focus on your feelings, what sense do you mean that in? Feelings as in feeling aroused, horny, excited etc? Or feelings as in physical feelings (eg sensations)?

I have a hard time knowing where to begin with a SE and the only way I can get myself aroused at the moment is by fantasising.
