Not sure if anyone beat me to this but I just had a wet dream last night, which is at least MY first in 2013. The dream was not much different than others I shared but for some reason it looks like I had TWO wet dream but was completely unaware of the first. When I woke up there was a wet are but around it a much larger dried area. I have no idea when the first one happened, or if it was just precum from earlier in the night. The stain is in the same area which tells me I had an erection pointing in that direction the whole time.
It could also be the material. These are my newest underwear and the last time I had a wet dream in them it seemed like the fabric wouldnt really absorb the semen and it sort of lumped there and made a smaller stain area, but maybe since they were washed a few times and broken in they are more absorbent now? Maybe my other wet dreams are like this also but the material seems to dry the stain faster too so maybe that is why there was a drier area. I dont know what is so special about this since it is 95% cotton. The rest is Spandex but I thought that was in the waist band. Well at least while they are new they are a good barrier to semen soaking out of them at least.

Oh and in case you were wondering I boosted the contrast to make the stain easier to see, especially the lighter dried part. I may have overdid it but they are light colored underwear so I thought it would help.

Your first WD for 2013 - Congrats!!
I have noticed a similar "absorbtion" issue with new sheets. I sleep naked, so no undies to catch the semen. When the sheets are new, they seem to allow the semen to remain on the top and "unabsorbed" a lot longer than sheets that have been washed a few times.

It seems to be well known that new sheets need at least one wash after buying to get the slight 'oiliness' out. I have noticed that they do sometimes have a slightly oily smell and can feel a bit more like canvas than cotton when they are brand new. Not sure if it is some kind of treatment to stop them going mouldy in their packaging or what.

Spandex is synthetic and definitely not as much absorbent. When I buy 100% cotton briefs or boxer briefs the waistband is similar to yours, so 5% spandex clearly does not refer to the waistband. You can also tell from the way they fit. Perhaps when you first buy them they are covered with some kind of starch hence less absorbent. Well done on you WD! Impressive!

Well whether sheets or clothes I always wash new clothes before I wear them for the first time. Especially color clothes and more especially clothes other people might have tried on in the store. I might have let that rule slide when it came to a package of new white undershirts or tube socks but generally I always wash first. Just a habit from when I was younger I guess. Cleanliness and all that. Which I guess is part of my mental history too and why experiencing my first wet dream was such a shock and embarrassment, a new mystery and mess to deal with (which I couldnt: I hid them...) 
As for the spandex, I guess they fit more snugly but I thought that was the size and that they were newer and not as stretched out. I dont thing 5% spandex can prevent the 95% of the cotton from being absorbent. But now they are, so it must be from several washings, but they still dry out faster. Even the part that was still wet when I woke up was almost dry by the time I took the photo. I guess the fabric is much thinner and maybe that is why. I think the snugness has also been keeping my penis from pointing up during my wet dreams. It seems to go out on the side, like it is too restricted that when it gets erect it can only go so far.
