My 2013 goal is to limit mb to one a month.

January was horrible. I will try to do better this month.

Almost at the end of march and the first 3 months of 2013 was a major failure. I am back to my usual routine of having a mb session every other day, so around 15 mb per month.

I believe the relapse can be explained by the lack of wd. Inconsiously i was tired of waiting for a full month or more with nothing.

The hard fact is that it could take 3 months or more of waiting to get to a regular wd cycle as mentionned before by a long time member (Texanguy). He also mentionned, that one should think along the lines of quitting mb for good and not simply holding off.

I will need to get super motivated if i want the next quarter to be mb free. Don't know if i can anymore?

Hey Maverick, sorry to hear your 2013 hasn't gone as planned so far. But when we screw up, we just pick ourselves back up again. Give it a try for the next quarter of the year. Just busy yourself with other things so you're too tired at the end of the day to MB. I don't think it's motivation to quit MB as much as motivation to get involved with other things in your life and let MB not become as important.

For the first 3 months of 2013 i lost control with MB occuring in the double digits. In April i am at 5 MB and anything below 8 a month is not bad (around 2 a week). I will try to get better in the coming months and change the way to report my journal by listing every ejaculations line by line. It looks worst than just adding it up for the month and this might help me visualise more my failures. First order will be to reduce to no more than once a week and then back to once a month. Of course, if i can switch right away to a once a month basis that would be best but i need to scale it back and stay there. I will keep you posted on my progress now and then.

Had a sexual dream last night. Just as i was about to come while making love with a woman i woke up around 5 am. A wd must be around the corner... i must keep going.

Just an update. I will sum up my mb for a month if there are more than 4 for that month. Since I had 6 mb in april I summed them up. For may I have already 4 and must abstain for the rest of the month. Since april I decided to quit looking at porn and this change should help me reduce my mb habit.

thanks for the answer but we used to be able of doing multiple edits which was essential to update our monthly and yearly activities at the top of our journal in one neat place. That feature not being available anymore will be a major handicap for this board in my opinion.

I can't make any valuable comment on your current situation with the edit button. But as someone who has experienced a lot of changes in my life, the only thing I could assure you is that in the long run you will eventually get used to it!!

OK, the edit button is back!! I limited the edit time because there some members who were abusing the facility. They would post something on day one. this would then generate some replies. then on day two or later the member would edit and totally change his original post. In some cases I believe that this was done to solicit specific replies, possibly resulting in unwanted attention to the replier via PM's, the chat room, etc.
I will admit to taking the easier solution. I will in future go the long way round and limit the individual members concerned.

Thanks again AGT. The multiple edits is very useful when used by legitimate, serious and responsible members. No need to be sorry, you listened to members like me who wanted to use the edit button in a useful manner and you adjusted your way accordingly. To me, it proves that your are a flexible and intelligent administrator.

No, Maverick, it was NOT members like Nick that made me stop the ability to edit posts after four hours. Rather, it was members like you, who keep making edits to old posts (I have already given my reasons for my actions elsewhere). I most certainly do not agree that it was a bad decision. Trying to keep the perverts who constantly edit old posts, in check, can only be considered a very good idea. What, I concede, may have been bad, was the way I tried to take the easy path in trying to contain the perverts. I will now have to look into achieving the same result by a more laborious method - i.e. take up more of my time!! Maybe its time to think of asking for donations to compensate me for maintaining the domain name and server (yes, it does cost money and is not free) and the admin time spent. I also disagree with you that Nick is bitching. On the other hand YOU, Maverick, shouted at me and threatened to stop posting if you did not get your way. Just like the spoiled little boy threatening to take his bat and ball and go home if he doesn't get his way. I think that your attack on nick was totally uncalled for. As you yourself said, it's easy to attack behind a screen.

Incidentally, I notice that you did not have the courage (even behind a screen) to reply to my post in the other thread - the one where you shouted at everyone.

1) Like I said, most members click on the little "view first unread post" icon, so it is unlikely that they even see your first post once it has been read by them.

2) So far, you have NOT responded to my reply in your "shouting" post.

3) If you look at the post times, you will see that your "shouting" post was posted on Tue May 28, 2013 10:48 am while my post apologizing and giving an explanation for my actions was posted on Mon May 27, 2013 6:15 pm - the day before!!!! Clearly your "shouting" post was just a petulant little boy trying to be a smart ass.

If you were indeed changing your posts for the wrong reasons then you should leave, as I will be keeping a sharper eye on you in future, and will have no hesitation ion deactivating your account if necessary. If on the other hand you are not doing the wrong thing, then your membership is not at risk from me.

I will not worry if you leave - it is of total academic interest to me whether you remain a member or not. What does concern me is the predatory actions of some of the members that are still here.

I beg to differ, it is you who simply don't get it. If you read my posts and replies carefully, and with an open mind, you would have to admit that at no stage did I say or even imply that you said that you wanted to edit all your posts. I simply said the following: I removed the edit capability to try to prevent certain members from changing their posts after receiving replies. I got the impression of the original (unedited) post was there only to get certain responses. Once the replies had been received, the member changed his original post, thus making the replies somewhat confusing.

Yes, you did make a mistake by making threats to leave if your demands were not met. That, I am afraid, was a big mistake. Other mistakes were making assumptions that were totally unfounded.

The non reply that I am referring to is to the last post on your "shouting" post. Here is a link to the post: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5776#p66129 I am specifically referring to the inefficient posting bit, and the fact that most members would click on the "view first unread post" icon.

Regarding your deactivation: Once again, I believe that you are making decisions that are made in haste and an ill-considered manner, rather than in a calm and collected way.

I will act on your request to deactivate your account on the 1st June 2013, unless I hear from you to the contrary.
