Well I just ended an 8-day abstinence streak by my own hand, but I will say that I am happy with myself for setting a new record (my previous was 6 days). Now, my boyfriend is coming over shortly, and I don't get to see him all the time, so there should be some fun there, but after that, my plan is to abstain at least another 10-11 days in a row. After the 17th I should really be able to get in some longer times, though due to reasons I won't get into here, I don't see myself going for 1-2 month streaks at this time. Still, I'm feeling less of an attraction to porn, though my mood is good. My personal goal is to stop making that kind of personal time a compulsive habit, hopefully reset my hormonal levels, and save up the sexual energy for a time when I can be with my mate.

I'll try to remember to update this as I reach new records and/or have wet dreams.

Made it a week again, and I'l still flatline except for the morning wood, which just seemed to be me having to pee. I switched completely off to the GNC Mega Men, and I'm back to the liquid multi, plus I've added 5-HTP and L-Tyrosine to aid in serotonin and dopamine balance.

Going to try for EJing once per week. I guess that's a good compromise considering my work schedule and relationship. I think it will at least help my penis' sensitivity and keep my testosterone up. I'm still trying to figure out the right trick to sleeping more/deeply. The end of today will be the first time so far that I'll have been up for 16-17 hours and have worked out and have taken both 5-HTP and L-Tyrosine before bed.

Just recently, I was getting my AB back up to two weeks with a lot fewer problems than ever before. I was willing to let my sex drive slump help me through, but my boyfriend is starting to take it personally that I don't want to do anything with him physically.

So I think that, if I didn't have an active sex life, I would totally be up for being as strict on myself as necessary in order to work my body back to WD's, but since I do have a boyfriend, and we are pretty regularly sexually active, and he's not interested in putting me into chastity or anything, I will have to put my interest in WD's on the shelf for the time being.

Amazing. I had a very long journal entry written out, and the connection dropped, so I lost everything.

In short: been EJing only 1x/week for a few weeks now, not of my own hand, and it's helped to keep inflammation away. Tired of MB, and how I have to force my mind to help me finish the job when I look at porn. Considering the interplay between WD's as a physical vs. mental feedback mechanism, how much each matters, whether frequency of WD's could also be related to lifelong sexual experience, and how all of this affects my chances of having a WD.

Today marks a week since I last EJed, and maybe 3 weeks since I last MBed. Amazingly enough, I had a dream last night that I was having sex. While I came in the dream, I was dry irl. I'm still happy for it, though, because I thought I wouldn't be capable of having those types of dreams, anymore, after how much sexual experience I've had throughout my life.

I want to reiterate for readers that I have never had a sleeping wet dream in my adult life. Anything that has happened thus far has been due to painful muscle contractions due to prostate inflammation. And I think I'm getting past that, now that I'm more slowly getting my body used to managing semen reserves by EJing only once a week for a few weeks. I think it is at least possible for my body to have a sleeping ejaculation, now that this part is no longer painful, and I'm actually having sexual dreams for once.

I'm just writing this in case I do have a wet dream, and I want to be able to be excited about it without other forum members wondering if I'm being or have ever been dishonest; I just know how my body works a lot better, now, and I have a better idea of what I should be expecting to feel and experience. It's been a tough transition, coming from formerly MBing 1-2 times per day. And I will say, at this point, I have so much energy, and I love the sensitivity of my penis and scrotum when something gives me an erection -- I wouldn't want to EJ and lose that awesome feeling, or have it muted or dulled in any way. Everything feels so much more grand, right now.

I MBed Monday. I did not grab and tug, though. I just stroked the frenulum up and down with a fingertip, which worked great, because it oriented my hand such that I spurted on my palm, and I only had to clean my hand afterwards.

No WD yet, but I've at least successfully reduced MB to once per week for a full month, now. And my body's making progress, because, here I am, 2 days since last MBing, and, while I'd usually be releasing a lot of semen with my urine while using the toilet, there's trace amount to none at all, today. So something is definitely changing in my body, and, in my opinion, it's for the better.

Also, I read up on, and eventually ordered, a bottle of Man1 Man Oil. It's a special lotion compound designed to heal and restore damaged penis skin so it can be more sensitive, again (I'm circumcised). My hopes are that will get here this week so I can get started.

I can't say that abstaining from masturbation for periods at a time has done nothing good for me. I'm really glad that I don't feel sexual urges for days at a time, now. I've really stopped masturbating out of addiction and/or compulsion.

This time, I will see if I can't carry through the week and into the weekend, when there will be less pressure for sexual activity because I'll be visiting a friend.

My body is asking me to work up my tolerance a day or two at a time, though that horrible prostate inflammation I experienced months ago has yet to come back. I must have shocked my body the first couple times around.

I got the Man1 Man Oil yesterday, and applied it a few times throughout the day. I can't tell much of a difference there yet.

Still feel no urges down there, though my boyfriend and I still do it about once a week. I won't be able to have my blood drawn for a testosterone screen until probably the end of June, though... Until then, I kinda feel like there's something wrong with me. 29 and practically never aroused. What the heck...

If such problems are causing you distress, I would suggest that you seek a professional/medical advice regarding this matter. Not hoping for the worst, but it gives me a sense that you might be experiencing what we call BPH or benign prostatic hyperplasia. If symptoms persist consult your urologist. Health is wealth and prevention is better than cure.

Well, the testosterone screen is what my doctor is suggesting right now. I don't know if she believed that I could have a prostate issue. She thinks it's due to work stress.

I should also mention that I don't have any of the typical symptoms associated with BPH. It was inflamed once, months back, when I tried to AB, but it got better once I reintroduced occasional MB. I don't have any issues with painful urination, blockage, tightness, etc.

Good to hear that! I wish you Good Health. Based on my experiences in life so far, I am a firm believer that health is one of the most important priority in life. I hope that God will grant you more fruitful and healthy years. Aside from that, I also wish you a very healthy and bountiful love life. I don't know why I said that but reading your posts gives me the sense that you are someone who is currently in a relationship but wishes to get more out of it. It feels like you are desiring more love and affection from your partner. You want to feel loved and taken seriously. Anyway, this is just my analysis based on how I think about you at the moment. And finally, good luck with your AB! hope everything will turn out fine.

Just updating with the latest news. My testosterone screen results came in. As suspected, but now confirmed, I officially have low testosterone levels. The doc prescribed a second blood draw, this time with fasting. I'll be doing that tomorrow morning. Then I see my doc a week from Monday. I'll update with whatever further tests or treatment they plan on giving me.

In the mean time, though, I'm glad I can finally look my boyfriend in the eye and tell him it's not him, and I don't have to feel guilty about not being interested in sex. Because it's not my fault. It's quite a relief.

Thanks, 95. I do use the treadmill 2-3 times a week, but weightlifting vs not weightlifting has never made this much of a difference in my sex drive before. the only other thing I can think of that might have an effect is that I had minor surgery when I was 9 years old to remove a testicular tortion (benign growth on the testicle).

I'll keep you posted once I find out how the doc wants to treat me.

I got the retest results back. My testosterone level is something like 270 ng/dl. My doc says that, at my age, I should be at least around 500 ng/dl. She doesn't really know what to make of it right now, so she wants to take an MRI scan of my pituitary gland. From what I looked up on the net, the only reason they'd do something like that is to rule out a tumor. I'm reeeeeeallly hoping I don't have to have brain surgery, but I also hope they figure out what's wrong, and how to treat it. I'm a bit nervous at this point.

MRi came out clear.

After a bit of insurance company and prescription plan drama, I was able to fill a prescription for Axiron, a testosterone replacement medication. I'm on the 3rd day of it now, and the doc wants me to stay on it for at least 90 days, but I'm supposed to be able to feel a difference after 2 weeks. So we'll see...

Thanks, masanopat. I hope so, too. Things have been up and down with my boyfriend. He's just a bit frustrated at times that his sex drive has always been good while mine has been on the mend... but we love each other very much, and we find other ways to make each other happy. :-)

I know that a lot of these entries have not been about WD's, but I feel it's relevant because everything I've gone through started with me attempting to AB, the prostate inflammation that followed, taking saw palmetto (which I feel is to blame for the testosterone drop), and everything I've had to do to try to bounce back. It could be used as a cautionary tale that AB needs to be done carefully... it's about more than willpower.

I'm interested in your prostate inflammation issues that you think happened as a result of AB. How many days did you AB for before that happened?

I had painful ejaculations a few times after breaking a run of AB of 44 days a little while ago, and don't know why. I suspect it was either pelvic floor muscle issues or prostate congestion. I enjoy ABing, but I can't knowingly push myself to a place where I have to have a painful O in order to get out of it, so I'm a bit confused as to what I should be doing. I'd like to understand this stuff a little better.

Can you tell me a bit more about your pain, triggers, what you learned about it etc?

I think the longest I was able to go was just short of 2 weeks of ABing. I actually got BPH symptoms -- trouble peeing, a feeling of fullness and discomfort. And, yeah, once I ended up MBing to try to relieve myself, there was some discomfort there, too. I can't remember if there was pain, but it definitely did not feel good.

So, after taking some antibiotics for close to a week, I was on a supplement that was supposed to help with prostate inflammation, and it contained saw palmetto. Saw palmetto is what I think created the testosterone drop, in the end.

I'm not sure whether I answered your question, though.

Ok. Sounds different to mine in that case. I had no symptoms of anything while I was ABing. Life was normal. Urination was as always, no pain, no discomfort, no blue balls, nothing. It wasn't until I decided to have an orgasm that the pain came in. Sharp pain that started not long after the spurting, and a general feeling of tenderness around that area lasting a day or so afterwards.

6 days into the testosterone replacement therapy. I'm starting to produce pre again, and it's pretty easy for me to get aroused and get erections, again. My mind easily wanders into those areas. I also have a ton of energy and focus, right now.

Two weeks since I started the testosterone replacement.

I'm feeling great. My boyfriend's also improving due to his antidepressant meds kicking in, so we've been going at it like rabbits.

So I don't even know what lies in store for me on the wet dream front, but I'm certainly quite happy, these days. I can say that I'm less likely to masturbate since I know the chances of sex happening are greater. :-)

Glad to hear the meds are working and you and your bf are doing better. I've had a low sex drive over the past few years and after reading your story it make me want to get my T-levels checked. I'm way to young to not be in the mood. Hopefully it's just stress related but would be good to find out either way.
