I've looked at posts at that site, and it looks like they have a higher success rate quitting MB and having frequent WDs as their new outlet than we do here. Some of them do indeed find WDs to be much better than MB and simply don't MB anymore. Bodybuilding exercises are also known to increase testosterone, and we find that a lot of guys getting WDs at our site here also started going to the gym. So working out may help keep WD rates up.

But the other side of this is that a lot of them believe from first hand experience that working out is better when abstaining, and they also see other positive effects including WDs. So as a group many are convinced that it is a superior lifestyle not to MB, and they believe in dropping the habit completely.

At our site, people often post about how much they miss MB or crave it, whereas at the bodybuilding site many guys seriously want to move beyond that point -- and do.

I think some things we can learn from them is that working out is better when ABing, working out may increase WDs, and seriously seeing MB as undesirable and wanting to leave it behind and be done with it rather than missing it and craving it, can all help.

The argument can be made that MB is not a part of mature sexuality, and that sexuality is better experienced, expressed, and enjoyed when you move beyond MB and no longer have an interest in it as an outlet. Clinging to MB can indeed be considered to be boring and immature, and many guys at the bodybuilding site seem to conclude that it is true, at least for themselves.
