Day Whatever (Local Time: Jan 11,2014 - 2:09am)

Something most magical happened tonight. My dreams came true, my prayers have been accepted! I broke the curse upon me.

My roommate wanted to get out and drink, so we headed to the bar that we usually go. We drank and chatted a while, then the used-to-be-my-soon-to-be-my-gf came into my mind. Wrote her a message, started a little chat but the conversation went to somewhere that I felt like I had to tell my feelings in that moment. And with some help with a little alcohol and good friends, I TEXTED HER THAT I LOVE HER. Then World stopped a while, my heart started to shake and then, she texted me back, "OMG, I love you too!". Since then, I'm smiling like crazy, I feel AWESOME and strange! I never lived something like this! And all of these happened so suddenly! I was planning to tell her when we go to the cafe, but I couldn't resist and texted her. It's true now, I'm seriously in a relationship. I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND NOW!

YYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And, I have a final tomorrow, and I can't sleep because of this feeling. Great. But I don't care, 'cuz I have her! It's worth everything!

So, that's it. I have a girlfriend now. I still can't believe this. Gotta get used to this. I'll treasure every moment of that. I'm sure of this. What a great chain of coincidences!

Day 3 (Local Time: Jan 12,2014 - 2:24am)

Even though I'm in a challenge against time and myself, I'm supernaturally happy. I mean, I should be in a struggle, in a deep depression 'cause I'm still not ready to the final jury. But instead, I'm happy, thinking like "everything can be done, if we believe, la la la la". And my phone keeps ringing, I know that there's someone who's thinking about me, and I feel very.....uhm.....strange. We'll date tomorrow, and I can't stop counting the clock. Tomorrow, my heart will break its pumping record, I think

Well, sometimes thinking about her gives me strange boners, because of the excitement. I can't think sexual things at all with her, but I can't stop those boners neither! I'm worrying about tomorrow, what if I get a boner while she's hugging me, while I'm holding her hands? I don't wanna be embarassed on my first date, I don't wanna leave a bad impression on her. I can only trust my jeans, I think. Anyway, I'm drifting out from topic. Because of I can't think sexual things, I don't feel any urge to MB, which is AWESOME for me! And now I feel like if I MB, I'll be cheating on her. Stupid, but can't stop that feeling. But I'm fine with that.

You're first date will gonna be great! Trust yourself and don't concentrate on the possibility of getting excited. Concentrate on the date and on her. Give her your full attention, and if something happens just sit a bit or talk about a view or something that shall help with the boner problem. But don't worry too much! The worst can happen is she noticing it and know that you really like her!

Day 4 (Local Tİme: Jan 12,2014 - 5:48pm)

I'M SOOOOOO HAPPY! I'M DEFINETELY LIVING MY HAPPIEST MOMENTS!

I know it's early to write but I gotta write today asap. My very first date was AWESOME! We couldn't talk first, for a while. Just looked at each other and laughed and then, we chatted a bit. Then I felt like I had to tell my feelings again, to her face. My body was like in a struggle, but I managed to say "I love you". And she made me say that three times. She held my hands, walked together on the street... It was just like a dream. In the subway station, we stood there, hugging each other... I wish I could see us from outside. I still can't believe that she loves me.

I'm definetely infected, but I feel invincible.

And there was a boner under my pants, all the time. I tried to get rid of that, but couldn't. I was afraid of that, but she didn't notice anything, phew.

So, that's it for now. Gotta start studying again. Tomorrow is the deadline for our project and I have lots of things to do. See y'all!

Today's exam was a kind of real trouble. Had lots of difficulties. First my USB got wiped by a frickin' virus, which was including a paper that I had to print. I overcame that with the help of my roommate, he sent an e-mail with the file. Then, got stuck in traffic, almost missed the exam. Damn, I forgot that world is that difficult to live Gotta keep my feet on the ground. In the end, I won today's challenge. Tomorrow I'll rest, and then, there's a hell awaits me. THE FINAL JURY OF DOOM!!

I edged a bit today, the urge was powerful but I survived this one.

This is gonna be a short post, I'm dying from lack of sleep.

MBed yesterday, dunno why. Maybe just wanted to empty the bags.

I failed a lesson, Architectural Design. It's our main lesson, and I've failed that. Not feeling any guilt, shit happened because of our irresponsible (so-called) teacher. He's a total jerk. I've slept only one hour today, because of him! And he didn't show up at the final jury. He didn't even answer our phones. I'm so madly in anger

Soo, where were we?

Day 11 (Local Time: Jan 19, 2014 - 1:21am)

And the semester is over, it's officially holiday! I'm at Kusadasi now, at our own home. I realized that I missed my parents and my room so much. But now, I started to miss my girl. Damn, life's getting more interesting now. There's a band that I've joined and I'm very happy to be in it, and there's a girl that I love more than anything, there's a school that I've started to hate and there's my usual life that I've been missing so much. So hard to make a decision, but I like that anyway! I've definetely changed.

So, there's a milestone happened two days ago, gotta tell that (WARNING! Includes romantic content). This happened before I left Istanbul. My gf wanted to see me before I go. So we went out after she leaved work early (she told me that she got permission from her boss, just for dating me!). First we went to a cafe, drank some warm tea and had a nice conversation with holding each other's hands. Then she said "Let's go, I have a surprise to you. Don't ask where, ok?". I just knew that we're going to the seaside. And we arrived there, a great place that has a great view of Bosphorus and the brigde, with the full moon above us. The view was EPIC! We sat there, and kept talking a while. Then I said "We've done most of the things that I've been jealous of other couples do, but some of them are not done yet". She said "Like what?" Then I said "Like...kissing". She looked into my eyes, and said "Then let's do it" And it happened! I had my VERY FIRST KISS, IN A MAGICAL PLACE, FROM A GIRL THAT I LOVE!!! JUST LIKE IN MY DREAMS!!! After we done kissing, my body started to shake from the excitement. And of course, there was a huge precum leak under my pants. That was UNBELIEVEABLE! I can't wait to go back to Istanbul and kiss her again, I'm addicted to something so strong! THIS IS AWESOME!!

And, to get back to the topic, my AB goes very well. I have some random erections like I'm a newborn teenager, but it's OK. I'm pretty fine now.

Are you in architecture school? For your design classes, plan on finishing your project at least a few days *before* your final review. At some point you have to accept that you can't develop the design any further. You'll have been developing your design for months, and a few days is not going to make a difference (you know it's true). So it's important to chose a date that you'll stop designing, and focus entirely on production after that. And you'll want to finish your production early so that you have a few days leftover to think more about your presentation, and be well rested for it. All nighters at the end of the semester is common in in school, but it's not necessary. The schools don't teach their students how to manage their projects and their time, even though deadlines and time management are some of the most important things.

Hey qubeley! Are you an architect too? Thanks for tips! Management is completely a trouble for me. The problem is, I can't start designing or drawing so easily. I keep delaying it to the next day, and it goes on until the last week before the jury. And then, I become a nighter! Next week, I'll give my final again, and still I can't do something about that. I need a very strong motivation. Please keep posting tips about architectural design classes, I need them so badly! Thanks!

I have a serious internet issue here. The one that I use is my mom's phone's internet, and her phone is ringing mostly. So I can't log in everyday, sorry for this absence.

Well, next week will be an interesting week for me. I have two exams, that's the bad part but there's a girl and a band waiting for me. That's the good part. And, there will be a photo shoot on saturday, that's the better part. My gf said she has a surprise for me, and she'll give me a secret. And that's the best part. I'm so excited!

Since the sickness caught me, I couldn't think about sexual things. It was a MBless week, I'm happy with that.But I think I'll start to get urges again.

Something that might help is to think of what a perfect architect would be. What this architect's design process would be, what this architect's theoretical positions are, everything. Take your favorite architects and combine your favorite things from each of them into one super architect.

And then say to yourself, "how would this perfect architect design the building?". Don't ask "how would *I* design the building?". Because you're not trying to design the building yourself, you're trying to emulate or copy the perfect architect. The hard part about this is that in order to form the perfect architect you'll have had to read a lot about many different architects. You might not have enough time to use this method, but next time you should. Go to the library and check out books. If you're not being productive with your studio time (which happens to everyone at least sometimes), then read instead.


Another thing that might help is to focus on "why" instead of "what". At first don't think about what the building will look like, or what the structure will be, or what the materials are. Don't worry about the physical aspect of the building at first. Instead, think of what your own theoretical positions are, and make a list of statements that the building should be. For example, Robert Venturi (I only use him because he's the easiest example for me to think of) would say "The inside of the building will be designed as pragmatically and "unarchitecturally" as possible, because X" and "Iconography related to the program of the building will be applied to the outside of the building so that it communicates meaning, because Y". Neither of those statements describe anything physical about the building. They don't say what the building is. They say why the building is the way it is, and why it's important for the building to be that way. Once you've figured out a list of statements like that, you can just combine them and follow them to their natural conclusions in a physical building. The design of the building will be the direct result of your ideas. Remember that architecture is primarily about ideas, not about physical form. A well written architectural history book doesn't actually need any photographs, because the important thing about architecture is the ideas, and how they developed through history. The most important buildings in history aren't important because they're sexy. For example, Mies van der Rohe in the 1920s is important not because of the way his buildings look, but because he innovated "a new way of thinking about and creating space in architecture". That is the starting point. The Barcelona Pavilion and the Brick Country House are executions or the result of that idea. If you look at only photos of those buildings you will not understand them. If you read only that statement about those buildings, you will understand the buildings even though you don't know what they look like.
