My thoughts are with anyone dealing with the aftermath of tropical storm Son-Tinh, and anyone in the path of hurricane Sandy, in any severity. I hope we all make it through alive and safe.

Yeah, good luck to anyone in Sandy's path, take care. Following the situation on CNN over here in the UK and hoping it doesn't get too bad for you guys...

LOL bring that Sandy here in the Philippines, she's just pass like nothing happened. LOL We're used to monthly Hurricanes/Typhoons. Right now, we also have a typhoon.

They never happen in Turkey, but I see them on tv and internet. Good luck for all who's living on the hurricane's way. I hope everybody will be alright and get rid of that disaster with least damage.

I'm working off my phone here so excuse whatever mistakes there are, but we're dealing with the aftermath here in Nj. Cell service is minimal, it's only beginning to be any sort of reliable again. Power is out, supposedly it might be out till next Wednesday at the latest but they haven't even posted an estimate yet. Lots of down trees and lines in my area. And lots of closed roads, no significant flooding here tho. The beach got hit hard tho, if any of u have ever been to the shore here, it's now but a memory, most of the boardwalks down there were obliterated to say the least, the beach itself was heavily eroded. The governor has been on the radio about it, the pictures are horrendous but u can look that up elsewhere. Luckily I guess, the loss of life here was small, never a good thing of course but on the whole few deaths.
School is cancelled through tomorrow at the earliest, though I'm guessing they will cancel through the week. Colleges statewide and some in penn have been either closed and evacuated or classes cancelled. Mine are out through Wednesday I'll know more in a few hours I guess. Most people haven't gone to work since the week began. Myself included. I'm guessing that will begin to return to normal soon. That's really everything I can think to say. It's 4 am here I've been up for an hour, can't even sleep anymore but there's nothing to do. It's gonna be a long week. Hope everyone else made it through okay. I'll try and check in again soon ttyl.

Alaric, I am so sorry to read about the destruction and devastation there. I hope you get through this okay.

I'm pretty far north, just outside NYC, we just don't have power. But yeah I feel for everyone down the shore, it looks awful. I am hoping that the governor follows through and gives them a ton to rebuild, I'm betting he will. Who knows, maybe that'll kickstart some of the instate economy give some ppl jobs rebuilding. Also may save some of those towns, some were in miserable states before like Asbury park. Maybe rebuilding will give them all a fresh start.

Anyway, that's just wishful thinking for now. Today the gov is going to go survey more of the damage. The president is supposed to come here, not sure where he'll be going tho, prolly the shore. I'd be amazed if he came here, possible but unlikely. Alright back when I can be.
