I was just wondering, for those of you who want wet dreams, and you do all you can to abstain and avoid porn and all, have you ever thught of praying for extra help from God in getting one? Anyone have any experience with this?

No I haven't ever prayed for one, actually I may have once or twice, but not recently, now I just wait for them :)

Good question! I have before, but usually just pray for strength in being able to abstain. There are times when I've really struggled and then sincerely prayed and in an instant the urge leaves and I have a clear mind so I can go and do something useful.

Prayer is a tool I massively underuse, and not just relating to abstaining etc. I should pray to give thanks a lot more than I currently do.

Ronald, mainly I have prayed that His power would provide me the strength to avoid temptations, to abstain, and to be satisfied with His grace and mercy.

I'm not sure there would be anything wrong in praying for one anymore than asking God to help find a marital partner for this life. Either way, God loves us and understands the frustrations and trials we face in this life.

I tend to when I am desperate for release, but I cave before I get a wet dream. I realized that I became wet dream purposed rather than abstinence purposed. I was just transferring lust from conscious desires to unconscious. Now I'll pray for release without a dream because most of my sex dreams end up being gay. I don't like that.

Totally agree to your opinion of the purpose to pray.
If you are praying for the goodness and for the benefits of either your own or of others, then I think it is just fine.
If you make your prayer into lust purposed, I don't think God will give you a wet dream though despite that He does know our needs and our wants. He will choose to give us a best answer, an answer that will fulfill His will.
