By recommendation of a co-WDer, I started some work on this question:

Do WDs accumulate during specific moon phases?

I examined this topic thoroughly, by the help of jessieboy's extensive reports.

This is what I learnt:

WDs accumulate around days close to Full or New Moon.

Of 14 examined WDs, only 2 (14%) occured when the moon was between 25 and 75 percent full.
8 WDs, i. e. 57%, occured when the moon was 5% or less close to full, or new, respectively.
5 WDs (36%) occured extremely close to new or full moon, with less than 2% full- or "emptyness".

Here is a graphic that should show the facts quite impressively:



As you can see, almost nothing in the middle, but much at the edges (when the moon reaches the turning point of its phases).

Wow, that's really interesting. Would have to look at the dates of some other frequent or well-documented WDers to see if there is a similar pattern.

Moon phases are an interesting angle and I need to factor it into my tracking.

Our bodies are mostly water and anything with water is going to be influenced by the phase of the moon.

Makes a fascinating new angle at analysis.
