Dear friends,

My name is Frederick and I would like to tell you what I have been observing in WDs for a very long time now.

The older I became, the lesser I MBed and the more frequently WDs occured. At age 16, I celebrated my 10th WD; few years later, it was 50; and now, at age 27, I stopped counting at around 100.

My observation is: The chance for a WD is higher at Full Moon, and, almost as high, at New Moon.

Since it's Saturday now and we almost have New Moon, it would be interesting to watch users reporting WDs in the upcoming 1-2 days.

I actually do not know the exact dates of any of my WDs, with one exception; WD #3 oder #4 (don't remember), which happened on December 3, 2002. I checked Wolfram Alpha about this date, and surprise surprise: Waning Crescent, almost New Moon; about 3% of the moon illuminated.

Two other factors that increase chances for a WD:
1. Room temperature (on that day in December, I was packed in very warm PJ pants; cosy feeling to my equipment);
2. New, previously unused beds.

When I was a guest in another house in 2005, I experienced a WD although I was only abstaining for just about 2 or 3 days. I eat my hat if there's no correlation to the moon phase, or point 2 from above.

Another information: I have never had a WD shortly after falling asleep (excluding one or two afternoon nap WDs); I always dream wet shortly before waking up.
