so JUST today for the first time (though I have thought about the idea for over a month) I shaved my pubic hairs for the first time....I am 25 eyars old and not once have I ever shaved them

all I can say is it feels AMAZING and SOOOO SMOOTH down there and I keep getting a semi and leaking precum

Dont know about getting a wet dream, but I also shaved down there for the first time last week. Also have more semis and full boners since I shaved.

I used to shave my pubes a lot for over a decade. At some point about 5-6 years ago I just stopped. It is a bit irritating if you don't do it often. It doesn't seem to have had any other effect on horniness or sex.

trim it with scissors. feels good.

I shave from time to time. I am a lot more sensetive till it grows back a little. Then itchy.

I agree. I trim every now and then just to keep it clean and neat down there but never a full shave.

I went through a period when I kind of resented my body hair and wanted to turn back the clock to before I had any. I shaved a couple of times and the first few days would be amazing and I could barely keep my hands off myself.

But after that would be two weeks of annoyance. Others have mentioned the itching, but also the stubble would be scratchy and I'd wind up with at least a couple of ingrown hairs to boot. Since then I've only trimmed. I've done very short when playing in the tub with the wife, but otherwise I do a little "maintenance" about once a month.

I personally don't find trimming down to putting green levels is attractive but I've found if I let things grow it becomes matted and tends to get caught in various folds which can be painful. Keeping things to about an inch makes for a tidy yet natural look IMO.

I keep mine trimmed and neat, my problem is not the front, but the ones around the other end, for which I have to use Veet as I can't see and shave.

You are normal, but just developing more slowly than average. The fact that you are also not very tall goes along with that. You have an advantage over guys your age and your height who are more developed, because you still have more of a chance to grow. You might also naturally not be very hairy, so what hair you will get will come in later.

How often do you masturbate? If you have regular wet dreams and really enjoy them, you should realize that frequent masturbation will most likely eventually cause them to stop.

In this day and age, there is a growing 'nofap' movement where people see the negatives of masturbation and positive effects of not masturbating, and try to abstain for a long time and quit masturbation completely. At 15 when I got tired of shaving the few ( I really mean sparse growth around my mouth, armpits and pubic area ) hairs I have had, I went for laser hair removal, it cost nearly 500 UK pounds and I have to do it a second time 3 months afterwards for another 200 pounds; at nearly 18 now, I am totally hairless under my head.
Some boys in my ballet school did the same but it costed more because they have much more hair to remove. I think in average, it cost them about 1500 pounds to 2000 pounds to have complete hair removal forever, and it takes as much as 3 or 4 treatments - the second time about 45 days, then 90 then 120 days if needed.
It really works and is permanent, but it hurts a bit and some people have small rashes ( please dont scratch it as it will worsen if you scratch ) at first but one can get use to it...the point is if you can AB for weeks, months...than not scratching the tiny itchiness is worth all the money you paid to remove your hair. I know it is very expensive but it is worth every penny if you really want permanent hair removal.
Some boys in my ballet class used Nair or similar products but the concesus is that the follicles? I mean the base of the hair and the hair itself actually get bigger in diameter and get very itchy when the hair grows up and out from your pores, especially when we have to wer a dancebelt under our tights in class.
Another method is Brazillian wax, painful but if you can stand it, try and do not cry!
Luckily for 3 years studying dance in UK, we have a steam bath in the boys residence and steaming naked for 15 minutes before shaving helps...try steam and very cold shower and steam again, our outer skin expands and contracts and expand again, then use lots of shaving cream and USE DISPOSABLE GILLETTE RAZORS! Use 2 razors each time if you have REALLY thick bushes. Blunt razors only hurt you and you can easily get cuts!
I think the most important point is to take a very hot/ cold/hot shower! cleaning the areas you want to shave before hand and use a new, sharp disposable razor each time, then depending on your skin condition, use a lotion that suits you to moisten the areas very every time you take a shower afterwards.
The last bit I think is the most important point, have your partner shave you, have you tried shaving your balls/scrotum and your crack, I guarantee you will cut yourself and it hurts!
Luckily for us ballet boys, we like, no, love shaving each other, getting hard in the process and what is more moist and natural with using precum as a shaving agent? And perhaps shaving is a precursor to better things to come afterwards!

I think it is better to stick with a full bush. Pubic hair is present to deal with sweat. It is just generally cleaner to keep the hair, as long as it is washed daily.

I have shaved a few times, but I am struck by the fact that it takes six months to grow back a full bush.

There was a time in my gymnasiums when if a guy were to shave he would be stared at, even laughed at. Now, it seems well over half of guys shave, at least to a point.

I find myself wondering if guys in high schools shave at all. I think guys that age would still laugh.

I don't know about the States, but in Europe (at least in my country), pretty much all of the younger guys and teens shave or at least trim pubes and armpits and you would rather be laughed at if you don't .

I just recalled that in junior high, most guys did not shave -- it was one of the signs that you were "now a man" -- that puberty had kicked in.

Guys who were late were often laughed at -- one of the most basic signs was having no "hair down there."

Any thoughts? I would think pubes an advantage for that reason.

Well, be honest. I am (1) circumcised, and (2) have a full bush. If I were to walk into the showers at a public gymnasium in Europe, would the other guys (A) laugh, or (B) stare? Would anyone else look like me?

I don't think you would be laughed - it is mostly between peers. Probably some people would peek or stare - even most of the older people trim, full bush is not quite common to be honest and may be considered weird.

Something I forgot to mention -- I do in fact shave my balls. A smooth bag does in fact feel good. And the pubes on my sack, when they grow, are usually white, which seems odd to me.

Back to Europe -- would being cut cause people to stare? I know well over half of Europeans are uncut, or far more, but would someone circumcised in the showers cause other men to look?

I would say over 95-98% of (native) europeans are uncut, but still there are few cut, usually for medical reasons. Most of the circumcised people in Europe are immigrants who are cut usually for religious reasons.
Being cut in the showers is odd here and probbably you would be looked at, but i doubt "stared", i guess not a lot more than usual peeking .

Well, in a good-natured way, I am proud of my pubic hair! But they do alas hide part of my organ. Shaving can be precarious, I found the few times I have shaved. (But, again, I shave my balls, and that is really a bit risky! And shaving cream stings, so it is just a wet soapy shower run.) Someone -- no doubt outside of Europe -- say that he too is proud of his pubes!

What's the safest way to shave your balls?

I keep my pubes trimmed. It looks neater, and I look a little bigger, so there's that plus! I notice like has been mentioned, this seems to be quite common. I have shaved my balls from time to time, as a smooth sack feels amazing. I found a disposable razor with generous amounts of shave cream worked just fine. And as for the itching, I once shaved my pubes above my penis and that itched like crazy, but for whatever reason I've never had that itchiness on my balls.

Yes, I shave my balls the exact same way. You can also use soap or shampoo, and I always build up first a thick foam using my pubic hair. Just remember to do it at least once every three days, or the scrotum starts to become a bit prickly (and therefore uncomfortable).

A full bush, incidentally, has that clear additional advantage. You can use it to foam up your shampoo or shaving cream. Another good reason to keep a full bush.

Then there are people in ballet - me - and gymnastics, modeling, swimmers, diving competitions etc that need to shave - just pause the TV and look at the very skimpy Speedos boys wear and leotard like ones girls wear in swimming and diving. Shaving my sack always works best dry with no shaving foam, just a good sharp razor. Very rarely get a rash.

If you want to be smooth all the time, you need to push past the red sores and get your skin used to it. Same principle as shaving your face. Your skin will adapt.
