Hi Guys,

I'd like to preface this by starting with one clear point -- I do not want this to be about is it ethical and whether people individually agree or not. I'm a grown adult and a decision I (have/will/want) to make for myself however, I need a bit of courage and can't really talk to friends about this, haha.

So, i've always dreamed (literally had a WD about this the over night) of being circ'd and recently a girl I was seeing was like 'oh, thats different -- you're not cut' and kind of made me very conscious and I was like well actually, i've always wanted to. FOr years i've been contemplating it but i'm quite a private person and certainly don't want to talk to my family about it or my GP who i've known since a kid.

My reason in pretty much deciding to go ahead is 99% for aesthetic reasons and because I want to -- i sometimes notice in the hot weather/after exercising you don't smell as fresh as you'd like to. I'm a superbly hygenic person but again, after this girl literally pulled out a wet one from her bag to 'clean up' before proceeding I can actually see her point.

So, i've found a way to have this done discreetly and a manner that I feel comfortable with -- interstate doctor (well he's more of a plastic surgeon that specialises in this) who does it under a local. GOt the perfect 'story' for my friend who is coming for the road trip, so they won't suspect anything -- just said have to have some camera work done due to some food insensitivites/GERD (I actually get bad reflux and always have). Family won't know any better and BAM, the discretion i need to feel comfortable is all sorted and what has been a long-term goal is now achievable. SPend the next few days relaxing at the beach/general holiday stuff and it's all done. The website of this Dr is pretty much falls short of stating that its more for aesthetic rather than medical reasons and that they do same day consults-procedures for people who travel there.

I know it would be cheaper to go via health insurance for 'medical reasons', i mean i probably could push for it as my foreskin has always been tighter than i'd like it to be. But due to wanting to essentially get this done where theres no possibility of knowing anyone, having to see the Dr again, etc etc, i prefer my way.

I find myself now left with the following questions and thoughts, and this is where i'd like to hopefully talk to some others who have done this as an adult:

- How did you find the procedure? Besides feeling a bit embarassed/exposed and uncomfortable, is it anything I should be worried about? I know it isn't reversible.
- Funnily enough, and I ask this with complete humour, their website talks about styles and on the day you advise which you want to go for. Any particular benefits either way I go? I'm thinking low/loose as it is kinda the best of both worlds -- head is uncovered but enough remains for 'pleasurable reasons'.
- Given you are awake for the procedure -- cream used first, then local anaesthetic, i'm worried with the fact that someone would be touching/handling me throughout the procedure that umm..whilst I don't find it arousing sometimes you just can't control what happens. I guess though they are professionals and would just ignore it if it happened?

Appreciate your time/responses -- basically, i was hoping to handle the booking component by email but doesn't look like I can. So i need to muster up the confidence and backbone to call (i know its ironic, more worried about calling to book in -- rather than lying there with no pants on while its happeneing, lol). But i will get my leave approved, ensure my 'story' has no holes then go ahead with it. I've got a good tolerance for pain -- had my wisdom teeth carved out of my gums/cheek 14 years too late and didn't need any pain killers so i can deal with the discomfort and lack of action for the 5-6 weeks.

As someone circumcised at birth, my observations are that it is certainly your right, but I think you may regret it. Some reasons:

-Many more guys seem to be unhappy with having been circumcised as babies than unhappy they weren't.
-More guys apparently take the trouble to restore and are happy with the results than get voluntarily circumcised as adults.
-Circumcision is going away. In a few more years it will be extremely uncommon in the US, and is already uncommon in most advanced countries.
-Circumcision (except for medical reasons) of boys is now illegal in Sweden, Denmark, and Germany, to name a few.
-Circumcision removes skin that has millions of nerve endings specifically designed for pleasure during sex. The foreskin is also said to make sex more pleasurable for the female.

People may disagree about whether sexual pleasure decreases, but it is a fact that a significant number of people who were circumcised as adults will tell you that their pleasure has decreased. Once the excitement of having sex as someone who is circumcised wears off, sex may very well not feel the same for you, too.

But of course the decision is yours.

On a topic closer to the name of this forum, I find it interesting that you are a shy and private guy who has sex with different partners and also has WDs. Have you quit MB? If so, how long ago? How often do you get WDs, and how do they compare to sex and MB?

I'll admit mostly it's aesthetic reasons, I saw my Dr about a year ago about some general discomfort I was having down there (was a pulled groin muscle, giving me a strange twinge feeling). I asked at the time about my foreskin being quite tight and not as retractable/loose as I would expect it would need to be. She said whilst it was a bit, there was certainly no condition that would require circ. but if it gets in the way with sex, then look in to it.

I have found that from time-to-time it can be uncomfortable as without a lot of effort it will only retract half-way. Also, living in a hot climate and being extremely active I find that you have to be really vigilant on hygiene to ensure that everything is as pleasant as it could be.

WHilst sexually active at the moment, I dont just randomly hook up with people or anything by that matter and it was an observation that a few had made and given i've always wanted to have it done, might as well. I find i'm oversensitive and sex isn't as enduring as it could otherwise be unless i've had something else go on prior.

WIth regards to MB, abstaining, etc. I successfully had my first WD a few months ago and between then i've flirted between abstaining, MB, sex however I feel that its always around like every 5 weeks I just go crazy and if i time it right, i'll be lucky enough to get a WD. Last one I had was i'd had the procedure and was admiring the end result until i felt like i needed to piss and then a minute later, BOOM.

I think I am mostly decided towards having it done, it will be for the better in the long-run and yeah there will be some healing time but it's an issue I wont have to deal with afterwards, I guess i'll mull it over for a few more days.

Just don't do it because of a girl who made a comment - if you do it for that reason, you'll regret it later. I'm guessing you're in the U.S. where being intact isn't as common as being circumcised - if you were in most of the rest of the world and were circumcised, you would get "oh that's different" comments too - something to think about.

I hear you on the odor thing, but getting circumcised may only help slightly on that front. I've been circumcised since birth, and can tell you if it's hot and I'm sweaty and haven't showered in the past few hours, there is an odor between my penis and balls and around my balls - it's just part of being a guy - well, part of being a human - girls can get smelly down there too under those conditions.

Actually from AU and surprisingly a lot of my friends are so i feel the odd one out.

The comment was kind of what got me thinking about the whole issue again.. I was all anti hospital and all but found a discreet and proper way to have it done. There's the whole sweaty thing but sometimes I find if I don't retract foreskin when urinating or dry up I sometimes get this pungent smell. Again nothing bad but yeah.. I've always wanted to be circd and remember when I was young being taken to a Dr but they said it was a margin call but unless something caused me problems not to bother. I think it was to do with urinary tract infections or something and being susceptible but as an adult I don't have that anymore. In winter I get try skin and im lucky to be able to retract like 1cm without it feeling too tight and all. Saw a doc and they just said it's one of those things that you gotta deal with and that a urologist wouldn't do the procedure as there isn't really a medical reason but you'd be better off with a plastic surgeon specialising in this stuff anyway.

I'm quite set on getting it done, I actually think it'd be quite hot after its all healed and all but yeah... Hoping to hear from someone who had this as an adult...

For me it's simple - I have a jacket with a hood, sometimes I wear it up, sometimes down, but I have the choice.
When I am erect my forskin goes back or I pull it back as it increases pleasure, it's great to have options!

Hi, I am in a very similar situation and also want to be circumcised...purely for aesthetic reasons (cosmetic surgery)...I have been wanting to for years (I was one of very few uncircumcised boys in my peer groups in the US) and now feel like I am finally ready to take the leap, maybe next summer, when I was planning on taking a little time off from work anyway. I get extremely turned on by the very idea of having a bare glans that will never, ever be covered again--fully exposed and permanently, irreversibly bared. I want a super tight result with the scar line well back from the glans, perhaps halfway back during an erection. The most sensitive part of the foreskin remains that way, and the appearance is better with a very tight result, I think. It has become almost a fetish, which I know sounds really weird, especially for a straight guy.

I have mentioned this off and on on this site, but still have not gotten around to getting the surgery, either because the timing was wrong or I hadn't the money to pay for cosmetic surgery. There are several people on this board that have had an adult circumcision, for various reasons, I have corresponded with some of them. I will write you privately also. Good luck!

I'll preface this next part by saying I'm using a mobile device and been bar hopping this evening so I'm a tad drunk and can't remember if I've already mentioned the following here.


I decided to talk to my gp about it, known her my whole life to ensure I'm thinking this through properly and all. She actually mentioned that I was sent to a urologist when I was 13 as ive always had kidney problems as a kid and UTIs and they believed the two were connected. At the time, she suggested that if it's recurring to look at a circ to help reduce the chance of it reoccurring but it is the urologists domain, not hers. This actually triggered my memory a bit.

The end result was he said it was a margin call whether it would help the condition. I remember him asking about the foreskin but being young and not wanting to discuss it I was like yeah yeah all's good no discomfort or anything... Ever since I can remember the skin hasn't been too retractable when erect. There is no visible scarring or anything nor did I ever have any tears... It does feel a little thicker but overall I just feel that to actually comfortably and completely pleasurably enjoy intercourse... Or manage to deal with rubbers pulling the foreskin down this is the best way I would like to go. Not interested in trying to stretch it. Also from a hygiene perspective from what I have read it isnt something that makes poor hygiene permissible but I expect it will be easier to keep clean... I. E if on the moderately rare case I mb (about once fortnight when I lose control of abstaining) I find no matter how much tidy up, it's always required a shower for complete cleanness.

Doc said it's my decision and that given we only live once we need to make these decisions for ourselves. She said medically, there is a reason (added comfort given my foreskin not being how you would expect it when erect.) but not necessarily a need. Either way she pretty much said if I do it, make sure it's through a proper surgeon and gave me the details of a Dr who specialises in it for adults whether cosmetic or medical but is a more cosmetic /surgeon.

So. I'm in two minds, I personally want it done perhaps mainly for comfort and aesthetics but also understand it will be uncomfortable and non reversible. I've got an appointment booked for consult and can book procedure the same day but booking are empty so I've got time to consider it.

So I've got plenty of time to think it out and make sure that I'm comfortable with the decision I make and make sure I am doing it for the right reasons. In a way I've always wished I had it done at birth but I'm also glad that I have this decision and can evaluate and make it for myself.

The procedure was making me feel anxious but after speaking with the nurse/assistant over the phone I was advised that they administer injection of valium and a pain killer prior to local after the numbing cream is in effect. Also, my Dr has vouched for the efficacy and quality of the specialist.

Ronald... Yeah please drop me a message. Will be interesting to talk to someone in the same boat... Support group lol. I haven't decided how I will request to be done, he said without me asking if for aesthetics to think about what I want so at consult he can explain pros/cons to ensure I make an informed decision. Personally I'm thinking moderately tight and midway... Anyway that is the least of my focus, ill attend my appointment informed in a month or so and see what should be done.

Appreciate the advice so far... Certainly has prompted me to consider things a week ago I wouldn't have thought of. Unsure if i will go through with it and I think it's best to consider this between now and my consult.

The situation should be resolved relatively simply.

1-The procedure is a minor one, with very little or no risk of things going wrong. So no problem here (unless the doc removes everything above the balls - just kidding ha ha)
2-You seem to have accepted the "new" look. So, again no problem here.
3-You seem to have "almost" made up your mind. Just remember, it's you who have to live with the consequences - either way. Others can, and will (like me) give you advice - but we/they don't have to live with consequences, so it's somewhat academic when all is considered.

Congratulations on talking to your GP about it and congratulations on making an appointment for a consultation with the specialist. That is a HUGE step. I had heard that in Australia, circumcision is no longer common, so I was surprised to hear that you felt like you were were in a small minority of boys growing up uncircumcised, and surprised that your girlfriend was surprised?

It sounds like its more like 50% medically indicated and 50% cosmetic...not absolutely medically necessary, but certainly not completely cosmetic.

Who are you going to see in Australia for a consultation on circumcision? I'm just curious? I had heard of Dr. Reid at Gold Coast Circumcisions, one of the most popular surgeons for adult circumcision in Australia, I think. You can write me privately to tell me if you don't want to post it publicly here.

Also you may want to become a member of the Yahoo! group called Inter-Circ. It may interest you or it may turn you off, but it has thousands of members who discuss adult circumcision.

Circumcised high and tight at 21 and happy with it except for the scarring which could've been less. No medical reasons, just hygienic and cosmetic. Definitely gained sensitivity compared to before I was cut, but I have this notion that it won't be indefinite and will eventually drop to less than being intact. Might be an exception rather than the rule as I kept >2 inches of inner foreskin. Think a high and tight circumcision almost always looks nice if not at least neat compared to intact.

Thank you -- from the arguments that I hear for/against, there seems to have been a big shift away from it around the early 90's, a few years after I was born. I mean it's not a topic starter amongst friends but the convo has come up before and out of 10-12 of us all between 21-29, if i did the maths, 60% cut, 30% uncut, 10% approx i'd keep aside as for medical reasons, 1 had been. Not being in a long-term relationship atm (not for lack of trying to find the right girl, but probably due to work commitments requiring travel and all) and finding decent girls that either aren't psycho or aren't not interested in just the action). I've had 2 of the last 3 girls (13month period, for context) all expect me to be as it is the 'norm'. On the radio today they were talking about it (we can get away with anything on tv/radio down here lol) and I was surprised to hear that an overwhelming majority of the men who called in said they kinda felt it was an expected norm from their recent female partners. WIth regards to loss of sensitivity, given it was radio, it was kinda vague but most were saying it isn't so much of a loss of sensation but rather, it's like learning to discover everything again about it. Basically, anything you thought you knew, time to start again.

Guess it's just where you sit on the fence with this, had my foreskin been fully retractable, i'd leave it. But it isn't and i'm quite conscious of it, I know a girl will hardly tell unless she's trying to roll it back or anything but it's weighed on my mind for a number of years. My doc kind of just shrugged it off really, not in a bad way, but was like you've spoken to me about it before -- your half way between need and want, if you're committed to the decision than go with it.

All the best with that, Ronald. Hope it goes well. Certainly at terms with what I want and why...and the permanency of the situation. It's something that will make me feel good and other things, less painful.

I've been working hard at abstaining and getting back in to exercise and proper eating et. The abstaining part mainly because of after the procedure but I also miss the feeling and more energy that comes with it. I am not sure if there's scientific evidence but it's like a hormone is released that makes you tired and crave certain things. I always find myself eating junk food or something like that. Normally I don't even like fatty/sugary stuff. Anyway it's something I'll keep working at!

If anyone has had this done as an adult, curious to hear about how it went, what it was like after, etc.

I've been able to keep the skin pulled back all night while I am asleep to get accustomed to the feel of being circumcised. But during the day while I am upright, I cannot for the life of me get the skin to stay back for more than a minute or two.

Tomorrow will be my last uncircumcised New Year's Eve. :-) I am committed to making contact with a potential surgeon for circumcision sometime in the next 4 weeks. :-)

Nah not yet -- 3 weeks today until my consult and procedure. I regret booking it so far out as i've had a lot of time to think about it, etc and be nervous. Spoke with the surgeon/specialist as I get quite anxious about medical procedures and he uses a pain killer + sedative through an IV so apparently most people fall asleep he said. Either way assured me not to be nervous as they administer it before the local so once they confirm the local is working your extremely relaxed.

It is funny though, how my attitude has changed towards it and it is something I am very much looking forward to be completed and healed. I'm very self conscious about many things and I know that it will give me more confidence but most importantly the pain I get when the skin is stretched (like any more than 1.5cm open when erect) is excruciating. Not something that is visibly noticeable but sometimes if there is too much exertion on it it'll go red and sore for a while.

I've been making progress on the AB front however I may break my streak just before the procedure to ensure that nothing is going to test out the stitches too much when its done.

From my reading online about circumcision, it sounds as if you have what is called phimosis , i.e, difficult to impossible to retract foreskin. Circumcision would be advisable for that. My advice would be to demand to see examples of the surgeons work to make sure he does an aesthetically-pleasing job and where you have enough skin left to get erect without pain . That is your right. It is your body. I was circumcised at birth but studied the topic online since I was too embarassed to ask anyone about it in real time.

Don't worry about the smell,do you think that women doesn't get some smell down there too?Why do you think that they use that shampoo for their vaginas?Imagine if women decided to the do a procedure to help with the hygiene,instead of just wash it properly?
With men,it's the same thing..if you don't clean,it will smell..Now,why would you care about a girl (or girls) getting suprised about you not being cut as the guys she (they)had been with?And being out of the norm,it's what it makes you,just you!At least you will be the original guy and not the weird,defect guy who had to be cut.
And i didn't see you mention or being aware that you might be tight to the lube for the rest of your life because of it,but it's something that will be part of the consequences.I know that you are AB and won't MB,but who knows?
And for the last,the foreskin it's something natural of the male body,otherwise it wouldn't be there right?You know it's there for protection and for sexual reasons,but if you still want to take that away,it's your call.
Speaking of it,i know that you don't want to stretch it,but have your Dr said anything about just cutting some part of the foreskin to make it comfortable to fully retract it?

Thanks for your thoughts and comments on the matter. For me though, its something that i am at a point where im frustrated about the difficulties it causes and from a medical/functional perspective it seems to be a bit of a vicious cycle. Ive made a consult and procedure appointment for the same day as im certain i want to go through with this however i have certainly spoken with my gp (same one since birth) about options etc, then the actual specialist over the phone. They wanted to kind of vet that i knew what i was doing, why, the benefits each side and all.

Ive been very split on my actual reasons moving between dricen aesthetically for it... And then when it causes issues, driven medically.

With regards to your suggestion about an alternative surgical option... I think id rather just go the whole way. I specifically booked these appointment so far our so i would have 10-12 weeks the seriously think it through. And where i am at now, i can confidently say that my experience with partners and some of their... Dislike... For foreskin is only a catalyst to speed up my decision not the determining factor.

Seems odd that an adult would want to do it, and i cant really explain it, but i know what im getting in to wnd hope the grass ia greener on the other side

All I know is a circumcised penis since it was done when I was a newborn.

I am happy and have zero desire to change it.

Im certain that this is what i want and im most looking forward to it. I respect that it is a medical procedure and there is a healing period but im going to use it to clean up my eating, meditate/stretch more and really cut back on mb. I want my first orgasm post op to be by wd. I may try out mb a few times to see what its like but will also be extending my health changes through to no mb.

Alright, so its the night before. Im ready, calm at peace and quite excited for the big day.

A little apprehensive of the recovery and time it will take to heal... Hopefully not too painful.

Other than that, i will be using this period of time to focus on abstinence and overall wellbeing... Specifically stress management and all.

So this is the last day/night being intact and looking forward to having it done!!

I am intact and am reasonably happy with it. There is not too much excess covering, and the glans is mostly fully uncovered when hard. I can move the shaft skin so that it covers the glans. This happens when I MB. on upward stroke it is 90% covered on the downward stroke 100% uncovered.

You should think about taking some "before", "during" and "after" photo's and possibly share them in the adult section.

I think this is a pretty easy call. I didn't read through everyone's opinions but what I do know is that in Europe there aren't guys who have their foreskin thinking about how they'd like to be cut for aesthetic reasons. Or a minute amount at the very most. This is BC the "what is aesthetic" is built upon the people around you. What your girlfriend says or doesn't say,your own self esteem, and your fears of what some guys you see might think.

Then there is the guy in your same position who tells his date "this is my dick. It is natural and you are going to have the time of your life with it and he teaches her the value of it in her vagina and she ends up loving it and telling all her ffiends how awesome it is. Or you can react to it like you did and keep American girls on the same trend of being ignorant. As for the guys, you can tell them what they are missing and what you can offer women and they can't. Confidence is everything. And what you have is natural.

As for it beig tight or not going down all the way. That is what stretching is for. Circ guys restore their foreskin by stretching. And guys with tight skins stretch everyday to losen it up. Surgery is last resort and should not be done for aestetics. You aren't deformed. We are. And that's a fact.

Had the surgery on Monday afternoon and sitting comfortably relaxing with some ice enjoying the heal time. A deformity is neither being cut or uncut. Anyway, excited to be circ'd and so glad that I did! Surprisingly I've been in no pain either...bandage changes are a little rough but it will get better as time goes on
