So let's say a guy is abstaining for long enough to get wet dreams, watches porn and becomes incredibly aroused, but doesn't edge or stimulate the penis in any way. From your own personal experience, and from other people you know/speak to on here, does watching porn help or hinder the chances of a wet dream?

My experience is that porn shortcircuits the process, while fantasizing about erotic things assists. Wet dreams can benefit from an active subconscious, and my theory is an active conscious mind helps. So rather than numbly watch porn, turn off the screen and picture things in your own mind.

I agree. Porn will inevitably lead to MB esp for most of us. So stick to your mind. Some times you don't even need any form of stimulation physically and mentally. My last WD happened out of the blues.

I had a wet dream last night after 51 days of ABs,which is my first wet dream in three years. I was watching porn for about an hour the night before. I also tried a hands free orgasm hypnosis. It just goes to show that porn could have possibly been a factor that led to the wet dream, but it may also have had nothing to do with it.

I had only just unblocked K9 so I was more interested in watching porn than ever, so it's not as if I've been watching porn every day of my streak. It seems more than just a coincidence, but it may be one. It'd be cool to experiment in the future to see if becoming aroused before bedtime, porn or no porn, leads to wet dreams.

Based on my experience so far, there are two major factors affecting my wet dreams. What I "have had" lately and what I truly have in your subconscious (If you are not satisfied to your life and you have a lot of stress, then you are not going to have any wet dreams).

It’s a wide know fact that human brain gets bored of things. It doesn't matter if it is a food that you eat or music that you listen to. When you get enough of something in a small amount of time, you get tired of it and it does not feel close to what the first times were. It is no longer intriguing for you. Same goes with porn genres, "super arousing" transforms to “arousing” and sooner or later it transforms again to "barely arousing", while the other genres are starting to become more arousing than before. Hence why I change my porn genres from time to time, eventually leading back to that one that was no longer arousing, except that now it is once again really arousing.

Basically if you watch porn (more than a few minutes), you will most likely not have a wet dream. I assume this is based on what your body is feeling, the urges that you have, how bored or intrigued your brain is from different things and what kind of thoughts you have to process.

The second thing is your environment, your life situation and how all of that affects your daily life and your subconscious. I haven’t been counting how many wet dreams I have had, but most of them have been somewhere else than in my own bed or in my own home. Most likely has to do with the time they happened. Travelling to somewhere in a weekend or spending summer holiday tends to be more relaxed time than your daily life. “I can sleep for as long as I want” rather than “Will I wake up for *something* in time, or do I oversleep!?” Of course the above also effects on the amount of porn and other self-pleasuring moments that you have, which are probably close to zero. Assuming you are spending time at someone's home, where you do not have time or the chance to have anything sexual, since the place is small and you are both constantly in the same small region... etc.

Conclusion, based on what I have experience and what I belief based on my life experience, is the following:
If you want to have a wet dream, do NOT watch porn. (Do not even think about porn in general, more you think of it, less intriguing it will be.)
Do not go to sleep while wishing to have a wet dream. (Or else your brain will most likely skip it)
Of course if you get to have an arousing dream, do not cancel it before ejaculation or when stuff gets really interesting. (Well duh!.. I tend to do that for most of the time since having massive wet dreams, while sleeping in the same room with someone else, in their bed/sheets is a bit troubling...)

In other words: Do not give wet dreams any thought and they should be happening soon enough, when your surroundings allow it and your thought process gets to it. If you are living stressful, unsatisfied or busy life, the chance for your wet dream will be much less, if not close to zero.
