Hey guys,

I have the following issue:

I am 25 years old guy.

I don't masturbate at all and wet dreams (normal) have been my relief so far. I never had sex in my life.

I could sustain my life without masturbation for 10 years so far. But now weird things start happening.

I can wake up randomly in the middle of the night rubbing my penis against the mattress and being very horny. I then stop doing cause I am afraid of violating my promise not to masturbate. Last night I woke four times like this. In the fourth moment I was so aroused that I ejaculated very fast - may be 10-15 seconds from erection to orgasm.

I can't control myself from these things happening and when they happen I can't stop myself either. Sometimes I can stop if I start feeling I got an erection or feel pleasure but last night I couldn't and it went to having an erection/ejaculation.

I don't masturbate at all and wet dreams have been a way to relief myself but during the last year wet dreams became less frequent and I start having these night wake ups with an urge to masturbate?

Should I just accept them and allow myself to finish to orgasm when they happen? Why does such thing happen?

I guess its a new way how my wet dream is gonna be happening since I can't really sleep through the traditional wet dream.

Coolsup,

Rubbing your penis against your mattress is very dangerous. That is the prone position. Most males who masturbate prone end up with severe sexual dysfunctions. You can learn more at http://www.healthystrokes.com.

When you get that feeling, your body is telling you it wants to have an ejaculation. I think it would be better if you listened to your body instead of shutting it down.

Doug

Yup, your body (and mind) is giving you a clear message.

There is nothing wrong with a good, enjoyable and relieving masturbation session. I actually quite enjoy them. :D :D :D

As far as I can tell there's not really any scientific basis for the idea that humping things causes sexual dysfunction. The small number of articles on healthystrokes are mostly non-academic self-help books. One appears to be scholarly but it only briefly touches the subject, saying it isn't common but that guys who do it are probably gay (huh??). The closest one to being credible seems to be Sank's article, which isn't particularly indepth or conclusive, and isn't scientific either, it's just him presenting some case studies and an idea. The guy who runs the site has no qualifications on the subject. I haven't been able to find any academic research on the topic. The graphs and things on the site appear to be from a survey that the site itself administered (an extremely self-selected group who are active on the site in the first place because they think what he's saying is true and applies to them). All of the actual doctors who put their two cents elsewhere online basically say that it's not credible or recognized in the medical community.

All of it boils down to one random guy who's obsessed with the subject and made a website about it, a single article, and a handful of obscure self help books.

Agreed.

I think that is BS. I am gonna go out on a limb here and say that I reckon nearly all of us have done this at least once, and many of us regularly when younger (I know I did), and with absolutely no ill-effects other than a stain on the sheet if we let ourselves go all the way.

I think there is a significant difference between 'humping the mattress/pillow' and 'violently crushing your penis between your body and another surface', which I'm sure does present a risk of injury.

Oh, and to the OP: Don't worry about it. Enjoy the feeling.

Who are these doctors? Surely not Andrew Rynne MD.
http://doctorrynne.blogspot.com/2011/04 ... rmful.html

Or Bernie Zilbergeld, one of the groundbreaking authors when it comes to male sexuality.
http://www.nytimes.com/2002/06/21/us/be ... ality.html

Or Dr. William Hartman & Marilyn Fithian.
http://www.nytimes.com/1997/10/13/us/wi ... earch.html

Or Dr. Pega Ren, leading sex advice columnist
http://www.smartsextalk.com/traumatic-m ... -syndrome/

Why should we substitute the judgment of user Qubeley for that of all these learned, authoritative men and women?

Andrew Rynne is just rehashing information from the Kinsey book combined with some terminology from Sank. And even this person's blog post doesn't actually give any hard reasons or cite any research. Humpers are sexually dysfunctional because they don't watch porn while humping? Because without porn they fantasize instead? Also, add to this that Kinsey basically thought that humpers must be thinking gay thoughts while humping, thus are gay, and thus sexually dysfunctional. :p

I'll give you that this appears to be an actual doctor (after searching about him on google), but he's also an internet doctor (I didn't know there was such a thing!), and in many of his posts there's nuggets of gold like "Doctors waffling on about the “dangers” of TRT are forever preaching to the rest of us about Peer Review and Evidence Based Medicine." "It is a tad annoying to see that the very people shuffling on the high moral ground of peer review science ..."

Bernie Zilbergeld, William Hartman & Marilyn Fithian... They are still self-help books. I wouldn't necessarily put a lot of stock into celebrity doctor/authors (not that what they write is necessarily right or wrong). But either way they're not conducting or basing their (very limited amount) of writing about humping on peer reviewed research. And "Leading advice columnist" is not exactly a very authoritative title either. :p

TMS is not recognized in the medical community, and there is no research that says that humping things is bad. Please find peer reviewed research that shows that it is, or a good sized group of people supporting the idea in an academic context.

Anyway, I don't mean to derail the thread, but I don't think the TMS stuff should go unchallenged. Based on what coolsup22 has talked about in his other thread, the last thing he needs is to be told that something he's doing related to mbing is harmful when it's actually completely safe and healthy.

imo you should accept them and allow yourself to finish, then have a good night sleep, and focus on having a good next day. :) I hope you've been able to get professional help, or are considering it, because what you've experienced (and not just the mb part) is affecting your quality of life, and you deserve much better. :)

How often did you used to have wet dreams? (if you don't mind me asking)

This happens to me too, I'm almost always horny when I wake up (especially if I've just had a sexy dream but woke up before "finishing"). And it can be hard to go back to sleep if this happens in the middle of the night. I've never actually MB by hand in my sleep (that I know of), but I have woken up humping the bed too.

Yeah, unless a guy becomes dependent on humping a mattress or whatever, as in he can't get off unless he mbs that way, then I don't see how it's a big issue. If you are in a position where you are putting too much stress on your body or hurting yourself, them obviously that's bad, regardless of the position. Duh. You could even grip it too hard the "normal" five knuckle shuffle way and cause problems or require too much stimulation in comparison to actual sex, i.e. The "death grip syndrome." But humping your mattress once in a while isn't going to cause any dysfunction. You'd have to do it an awful lot to cause any changes in your body or mindset or sexual response.

And the idea that it's gay? So dumb. The most common heterosexual sex position is missionary, with the guy on top. How is imitating that gay?! You're not even touching your own penis for crying out loud! (I don't think touching your own penis is in any way gay, but if a guy was super insecure about it, you could make that argument, that humping something else is even "less gay" than regular Mb -- assuming you are not humping amother man, haha.)

Now whether you feel you SHOULD be doing it or not--that's up to you. But don't worry that if ot happens once in a while you won't be able to have normal sex successfully if you get off once in a while from friction from something other than your hand. Your body is a lot tougher and adaptable than that.
