Cut vs uncut

Hi, I'm an uncut guy that has a serious doubt to be, hopefully, explained by the cut guys.
Some of you guys, we're cut, not because of some tradition like Jewish people and wasn't also because of phimosis. I know, at least in US, it's almost a standard to cincunsized your newborn child, even if everything is healthy? Anyone could explain that to me Why to sacrifice a nice and healthy foreskin if there's nothing wrong with it?

Also, would you like to change your condition? Would uncut guys like to be cut and cut guys to be uncut, for any thinkable reason? Are you doing something to achieve that?

Really curious about that and hope I can have your feedback.

As in my case, I'm uncut and very happy with it. Never had problems and was also tought how to clean it up by rolling the foreskin down and wash it with plenty water and soap.
I believe the foreskin has an important protective function to the glands, and have heard some of the cut guys loose sensitivity on their glands? Did it happen to you?
Also, to the guys that were cincunsized after some age, like in puberty or so, when did you find out that your member was not quite similar to the others guys?
My cousin, was cincunsized an year ago and he's 23, and only then found out he had a phimosis. Any similar story?

I'm uncut like most Americans my age. I've wondered what it would be like to have foreskin, for sure. My circ is pretty loose on the bottom and there's some extra skin there -- around the frenulum, I think it's called. Maybe all circs are like that, I don't really know. Anyway, that skin is really sensitive and I've wondered if the rest of a foreskin would be equally sensitive.

When making the decision for their boys, most parents I know seem to have gone with what daddy has. I guess I'm glad to be circ'd, but I'll never know what the alternative what have been like.

I am uncut and completely happy with that. My foreskin is quite loose, so never had any problems at all. In the end, you are how you are and make the best of it. Less easy is to need circumcision in young adult life as this can't be much fun and you need to adapt.

All guys should be proud of what they have and just learned to use it properly. You can give the best equipment to an unskilled operator and get poor results. Any equipment in the hands of a skilled operator can still deliver a potent performance. This is true of anything in life.

I am circumcised and I am happy I am. I think cut looks a lot better but to me it looks like it probably does feel better when you have a foreskin.Ive heard cut guys talking about restoring there foreskin, anyone know how I could do this?

I'm uncut and fairly comfortable with it. For a time when I was a teen I considered getting circumcised, but decided against it (too much hassle and I was worried about loss of sensation). I also experimented with keeping my foreskin retracted for extended periods of time, but I've stopped doing that as it tended to be too annoying/arousing because of my sensitive glans.

I'm cut since birth and don't really see any big plus for a foreskin. I don't really know what people who worry about loss of sensation are talking about. I'd hate to think of that thing having any more sensation than it does now.

I'm cut, and I prefer that I think. Not that I could really compare. There was only one guy (as far as I know) who was uncircumcised in athletics. He got some heat about having "a hooded weasel" as the team named it, but that portion of the teasing was in good humor.

I've met a few in college who were uncircumcised. one is actually a fairly good friend. I was talking to him about this within the last month actually and he didn't realize he was different from most people until moving to college.

I'm still quit sensitive, but I can't compare to being uncut since It has been my whole life. I have no desire to have it restored, nor do I feel cheated for having it cut. I will probably cut my child as well.

My experience is pretty similar to smilingibis and Steath. Cut since birth, never really missed it. No way to know, but even if I do have less sensitivity the amount I'm left with is more than adequate!

I was cut since birth, because my parents decided "that's what all the other parents were doing too" at the time in the U.S., which is really a stupid reason if you think about it. The reason that so "he can look like dad's penis" is even more bizarre, as is the reason "so he can look like most other boys in the locker room". Those two reasons say ignorance and insecurity.

I'm against routine infant circumcision, as I really believe circumcision should be the choice and decision made by the owner of the foreskin. A helpless infant can't make an informed decision when he's born, and since there is no medical reason to circumcise, that makes it an optional procedure that he should choose for himself when he's old enough.

Needless to say, even though I'm circumcised, my son is not. I'm proud of my decision to not circumcise him, and I'm sure he'll appreciate he was left intact when he's older. And when he's old enough, he can get himself circumcised if he wants to. He'll have that option. It's easy to remove a foreskin, but as anyone who has tried foreskin restoration can tell you, its very difficult to get a foreskin back, and impossible to get a fully functioning foreskin back. Chances are my son will want to keep his foreskin, but if he doesn't, I'll be fine with his decision either way. The important part it will be HIS decision for HIS body part, not mine or anyone else's.

I was cut at birth but now I am restoring and have made very great progress for tugging for 3 years. Yes it is a long process for sure.

It is mostly all about money now here in the US. It started to become popular when Dr. Kellog pushed it as it "stopped" masturbation which we all know nothing stops a man from playing with himself, it is natural for us to do so. Currently the Circumcision rate here in the US is now below 50% which is awesome!! It is slowly and surely dropping as more and more home-births and educated people arise.

For sensitivity - All guys are different, cut and intact. Some intact guys don't have much feeling while cut guys have a crap load of feeling. All depends on the person.

For me - I am restoring because I had no feeling when I had intercourse with my girl friend, actually 3 years ago (lol). I then started looking around for penis feeling issues and came across foreskin restoration. I started and now have a pretty good foreskin. I still have a ways to go but I currently have feeling and produce pre-cum (never used too). I will be glad when I am fully restored and be a normal man like I was meant to be!

I'm uncut and happy with that, but I could have been cut coz I had a tight foreskin, but I didnt know how it should normally be, and the school doctor didnt detect it (or mentioned it to my parents). I realised I wasnt normal when I had experiences with a classmate when 14 yo, coz he was able to pull skin back and expose his glans. I decided to force and stretch my skin daily in bath when 15yo, this was favoured by erections regularly happening (followed by ejaculations). It took 6 months, and I got very proud the first time I could expose my glans as my classmate.

Circumcised, but I would prefer to be uncircumcised. More penis to enjoy. :p I also think it can look more tidy that way.

But either way it's not a big deal. If I could press a button to have foreskin I would, but I'm fine with what I have.

Some circumcised guys have to use lube though? I'd go insane if I had to use lube just to mb!

Circumcised high and tight at 21 and happy with it except for the scarring which could've been less. No medical reasons, just hygienic and cosmetic. Definitely gained sensitivity compared to before I was cut, but I have this notion that it won't be indefinite and will eventually drop to less than being intact. Might be an exception rather than the rule as I kept >2 inches of inner foreskin. Think a high and tight circumcision almost always looks nice if not at least neat compared to intact.

I'm cut and almost everyone I've ever seen in a locker room has been cut.

For FutureWDreamer and the other intact guys--about how old were you when you started to retract your foreskin (pull it down to expose the glans/head)? I know that as a baby it is adhered to the glans, and some American doctors actually try to retract it on intact babies, but you're not supposed to do that, that only increases the risk of the boy getting a UTI or another type of infection. Otherwise, intact baby's penises are really clean and healthy.

I've read that the foreskin will start to separate from the glans, and through the boy playing with it, etc. he will start to be able to pull it down ok some time from late childhood to puberty. Of course, some guys have really tight foreskins, and it will take longer to be able to retract it fully. But that's only what I've read, I have never talked with any intact guys about their personal experience, and I'm curious what your story is with that, so I can understand it better. thanks!

As a cut male, I have never really felt I was lacking anything. Never realized there were uncut guys until one of the boys at school looked different in like, 3rd grade. I know in America the rate is very much along racial lines. In the Black and Hispanic communities it is very uncommon, but the white circ rate is like 70%.

I got cut when I was 16; i had phimosys, but my doctor said that it was not necessary to proceed with circumcision and it was my choice. I did to the operation, and now I am very happy I took that decision, because I like my penis now more than before and it feels great. Here in Italy it is very uncommon being cut (i know just of my father and one friend of mine, speaking about non-religious reasons).

Well this standard in the US of circumcision is actually dropping a bit every year. The practice of circumcision in the US dates back to the 1800s because of the Victorian era. This was then pushed further by good ol' Kellogg and his quack theories on health. He saw the foreskin (male and female) as dirty, unhealthy sloths of skin that should be removed to limit masturbation and maintain cleanliness. His ideals stemmed back to the Victorian era ideals of cleanliness. These ideas continued in the country to the point where it became mandatory to be circumcised in military services, to doctors performing it without parental consent. Thus becoming a regular practice.

The biggest cause of it in this country now is $$$ as each infant foreskin yields profit for the doctor, hospital, and the companies that want the stem cells for various purposes (There are age reversing cremes that use infant foreskin in their ingredients). Most of the studies that are used today to support circumcision utilize small groups of people, and also heavily outdated studies decades before I was born. In fact, the whole STDs/AIDs idea is skewed when you consider the the US has really high rates of circumcision and high rates of STDS and AIDS, while the rest of the world has lower incidents of these and less circumcision.

Along with this, there is also the lack of knowledge as many people are just misinformed for grew up thinking one way is the right way. It should be a choice for the individual and not from others. For instance, I was cut because my mother want my penis to look cut... which then lead to a series of lies and made up fantasies why my brother and I were circumcised.

Personally, I didn't like it... in fact, the curiosity and desire to have the choice led me to restore mine. There are plenty of men who work on restoring their foreskin.

ShadowFlare--I know that you have restored quite a bit of your foreskin for a while now. Having lived most of your life cut, and having had a restored foreskin for some time now, how does it compare? What is better, roughly the same, or not as good w/a foreskin. What benefits have you gained: sexual, protection wise (since your head is normally covered now), self-image wise, etc.? Is anything annoying about it?

Not that my opinion was asked for but I like my boys cut although I've only ever been with one uncut guy and we didn't go all the way. As a more visual person, I like the way a circumcised penis looks but it's not like I'm going to turn a guy down if he isn't.
All my guy friends who talk about this kind of stuff with me are all cut so I don't have any "uncut opinions" lol they're all pretty happy with what they have though

Through uncut male born in Australia in '86. Most boys around my age and younger in Australia were left intact. I have nothing against an uncut penis, but naturally I'm strongly against circumcision.

Firstly I'd like to address a few pro-circ. arguments; cleanliness, odour and restrictive, tight foreskins. Both of which can be overcome/avoided with education and openness. There is nothing wrong with a clean, uncut penis. Those that have ever experienced an unclean, intact penis would agree that they are unpleasant and unattractive. I'm all too aware that tight foreskins can harbour smegma buildup which leads to bacteria which leads to... An embarrassing smelly penis. However, from an early age, I was encouraged in a very matter-of-fact way to "pull your foreskin back and clean your penis". This undoubtedly sped up my discovery of masturbation, but meant that I was aware of my responsibility to clean, and very rarely have I had problems with odour since.

By performing regular cleaning, I was all the while conditioning my foreskin to loosen up as I grew, which meant I was lucky enough to have avoided the unfortunate 'tight foreskin' condition that gives a lot of us uncut guys a bad name...

I think it is a violation to cut a piece of a person's body off without their consent, whether it is in the name of preventative medicine or not...

I am an uncut. I do not think it is really needed to cut, if it is not necessary.

I am uncut, and happy to be. When I was a kid at school (Spain, Madrid, around 1985) I only met one circumcised guy, and when his condition was discovered he was the object of frequent jokes, to the point we, the rest of the class, had to receive a lecture on how it was done to him for medical reasons and that the jokes on him should stop right away. He had to go visit a psychologist, also, poor boy. So it became a tabu subject afterwards at school.

Circumcision is despised here as a barbarian custom of Jews and Muslims, both of which are not close the heart of Spaniards (they were expelled out of Spain centuries ago, and that History was heavily glorified by General Franco's 40 year regime which ended in 1975).

Only people with severe phimosis get circumcised here. Mild phimosis gets dealt with by the doctor telling the boy (and the mother, if he is pre-puber) how to exercise stretching the prepuce while bathing in order to overcome it. Also, doctors here don't make a dime on making circumcisions because we have a Public Universal National Health system (established by Franco, by the way) which is paid by taxes, not by the visiting patient.

I am cut. Never really missed it and don't know what I am missing. I actually thought I was uncut for the longest time, until my mom mentioned something about circumcision. I enjoy what I have, though I would probably have stayed uncut if I had had the choice.

The argument I have consistently heard is that "we wanted you not to feel different in the locker room" ,"we wanted you to look the same" or something to the same effect. I believe most parents that makes this choice really do it for two reasons.

1) The father wants his son to look like him. Psychologically, it would make sense that a father feels kinship to seeing his son go through the same experiences, and eventually wants to see himself reflected in his son.

2) There is racial stigmatization in being uncut. The concept of being uncut has often been compared to being uncivilized. While many white men wouldn't admit it, I think they draw connections between their own son being cut and being white.

3) It is the status quo for cut people. Because cut folks often equate being cut with normalcy because they have lived with it for so many years, it becomes normal and natural to pass it onto children.

As with many sociocultural practicies, I believe we can break this down to a few psychological and cultural points that many people adhere to. Let me know what you think of my analysis. Of course, it's only speculation until tested, but I think I have a good idea on it.

Another important reason for circumcision is religion. I am not so sure about the racial aspect. Circumcision is a major "passing into manhood" ritual for many African groups.
Also there is the "health" and perceived cleanliness of being circumcised. By "health" I mean prevention of problems like constricting foreskin. Just like, when I was a kid, it was the norm to have your tonsils removed, simply to prevent future tonsillitis problems.

This has been the topic of conversation with several friends and cousins that are starting their families. I am cut as are most guys I know and most I see at the gym. When the Guys have been talking,we have discussed just letting things be until there is a reason to cut, if that ever comes. The kid can make that choice when he becomes sexually active. Some of the decision is with the wife. If she doesn't like uncut guys, there is more of a vote to cut.

No kids, so haven't had that decision, but leaning toward uncut.

I'm cut and I don't feel violated or anything, but in the unlikely event that I ever have a son, I probably wouldn't have him circumcised.

Decks, I have been looking at restoration over the last few days and have started manual tugging. On the coverage index, I am between a CI-2 and CI-3, so there is a little room for stretching. I am really interested to learn about your experiences with restoration. Do you use a device? I'm looking at the DTR but I'm not sure whether I have enough coverage to make it work. Manual tugging made me extremely horny making it difficult to AB. So I MB twice yesterday... oops!
