I've always had a high sex drive. Like any guy in his teens and twenties, it doesn't take much to get me aroused. The slightest stimulating sight, sound or touch and I'm raring to go. Well, I'm 28 years old right now and I noticed that while before it used to take only a bit of trash talk or the sight of a hot, tight body or just a brush of my hand over my cock, or even just an erotic thought in order to get hard, now it takes a bit more than that. I'm 19, but I think I must be wired differently. For me, I've always had a high sex drive. But it takes more than a picture or topic to get me hard. I actually have to start thinking about sex in order to get hard. If I just see someone who is hot, it's not enough to get me hard, not unless I think about having sex with them. Don't know if it was a coincidence, but right around 20 when I lost my virginity. Before that, I had a LOT of very awkward erections in the college lecture halls checking out all of the co-eds. Our bodies are built, from an evolutionary perspective, to be ready to have a lot of sex as we reach sexual maturity. This happens in our mid-teens - late-teens for some. This comes from a time long past where life expectancy was shorter and it was not uncommon to be married/procreating by 13-15. We live in a time now that features having children much later in life, after we reach our professional maturity as it were, but we still have the biological carryover from the evolutionary pressure to have as many children as possible in as little time as possible.

I know they're annoying now, but when you get to be my age, you'll miss them. They're a reminder that you're alive, and that your purpose in the world is to find a mate(s), show off your feathers, and put your dipstick in as many of them as possible.

Ok guys, I'm the OP and this may sound weird but I find myself having to basically go 180 degrees from my initial observation.

Turns out that those couple of weeks of a more sedate libido when I went cold turkey was a fluke.

And God was it ever a fluke!

I'm way way way more horny after this month-and-a-half of AB than I can recall ever being, except in my teens. Maybe that's because this is the longest I've ever gone without MB since the time I was fifteen. I think that this may actually be my normal state.

These effects can be seen as nature's way to encourage moving away from MB. MB can become a waste of time and energy. Perhaps it is indeed the 'normal state' not to have the MB habit.

Interesting that this is happening. Not completely unexpected - I assumed that the sex drive would return eventually if you AB for too long at your age. You're still in prime hormonal years being in your late 20s, so I would take the fact that these events and feelings are occurring as a sign that a WD is not far away. You may have misinterpreted this - the time frame of ~28-34 characterizes a testosterone level in males that will never be exceeded again. In other words, immediately after this is when we start to see the sharp decline in testosterone, but it doesn't necessarily mean that this is the "peak" period. It just means that your testosterone levels will never reach those levels again without supplements or some radical physical lifestyle change. It's well established that our testosterone levels peak during mid-puberty, which varies person to person.

I had read many scientific studies on testosterone levels over age, and would like to clear up some misconceptions that have been recently posted here:

* testosterone increases at its most fastest RATE during puberty and mid-teens, but the LEVELS of testosterone do not peak during puberty. In fact, the average healthy 60 year male has higher testosterone levels than the average 16 year old male. But if you look a how fast testosterone levels increase year over year during puberty, it is rather incredible; a very steep curve.

* testosterone LEVELS peak at around age 23-25 for most males. The RATE of increase to the peak slows considerably between 18-23.

* After the peak LEVELS around 23-25, the levels do decline steadily over the rest of your life, but the RATE of decline is very slow, something on the order of 2 to 5% every 10 years. There is NEVER a dramatic, sudden decrease in testosterone in a healthy male's life. Just a gradual, slow decline as we age.

Again, this is for the average HEALTHY male. There are numerous complications and diseases that can have a negative impact on testosterone levels, but they are conditions, and not considered normal and healthy.

There is a ton of misinformation out there about testosterone, mostly from these rip off companies trying to sell you snake oils to raise your testosterone levels. They want the world to believe that your testosterone levels fall off a cliff as we get older, so they can sell you this stuff to bring it back up. It's all B.S.

Testosterone levels vary from person to person and generally decline with age, but need not.

Keep your T high with:

High impact exercise, like weights (muscle mass and T production are positively correlated, body fat reduces T)
Diet - Plenty of red meat, vegetables, eggs (egg yoke feeds T production), nuts, and foods high in zinc and magnesium
Plenty of water
Moderate alcohol consumption, it kills T.

I stopped getting frequent random boners mostly after age 17 or so (I'm 25 now). But there are a couple things that trigger them now that I'm an adult.
