This is an interesting question. When I was single I hated the idea of 'saving yourself for marriage'. However, as I get older and begin to see sex for what it is, I am realising it is an extension of am embrace, rather than just a shallow and meaningless act that two people do together. I think it's really easy for young couples to fixate over sex, and perhaps for sex to hide their true feelings for each other. I think if I knew then what I know now, I would have waited a lot longer than I did before having sex with any partner. Doing that keeps the relationship 'real' and avoids you getting swept up by feelings.

I had pre-marital sex. There's a certain romanticism about your spouse being your first sexual partner, but there's a practicality and reality to the role of sex in a relationship. If you are not compatible sexually, your relationship suffers greatly. Better to find this out before getting married.

Wow. It took over a year for you to pick up Barkin's original post. It must have been a slow period indeed. I don't know whether the registration questions were required (or even there) when you first registered, but I notice that you have not updated your profile since registering. Please do not get me wrong here, there is no real obligation to fill in all the details. You are able to put any answer you like to them. There is no real check made regarding accuracy. Believe me, as I personally approve the majority of new applicants, you would be surprised at how many are plainly bullshitting in their answers. Why they would be embarrassed about their true answers, is beyond me. The only thing that I insist on is a "real" email address. Anyone who tries to use a 10 minute or temporary email address is simply not activated. My reasoning for this, is that if you can't be bothered to spend a few minutes setting up a Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo specially for the WDF, then I suspect that there may be some form of skullduggery afoot. I did notice since I introduced the "real" email requirement, there has been a lot less blatant spamming or trolling posts.
I should also point out that the questions were in place before I took over the forum. I haven't bothered to look into changing them as the whole thing is of academic interest to me anyway.
