Hi everyone,
Just wondering if there is a correlation between WDs and viewing porn? If I view porn - I don't MB but I leak precum like crazy - does this affect my ability to have a WD? Does this push back the WD by a couple of days? Thanks!

I too am also curious about this. I don't touch myself but I end up with quite a bit of precum. I don't think it should effect you that much because the bulbourethral gland produces the precum. The seminal vesicles seem to not be involved nor the epididymis (athough some think some sperm are in precum).
So it doesn't really seem like it should effect that much, unless the mental stimuli isn't good. Anyhow I have no idea so all I can do is speculate.
Still shooting for my first wet dream myself. I'm on day 10 complete abstinence now.

There are only sperm in precum if you have already ejaculated once recently, like an hour or two at most, and have not peed since.
As for porn, I dunno. Sometimes it seems like watching porn would stir you up and get things primed for a wet dream, but my current way of thinking is that a wet dream is the brains response to sensory deprivation. Your brain has become used to physical pleasure and sexual arousal, enjoys and is habituated to these feelings. So if you shut off physical pleasure by not masturbating or edging that is one side, but if you also cut out porn you vastly limit the amount of sexual arousal your brain gets. If your brain is deprived of the things it wants and is used to, it stands to reason that eventually it will be forced to do for itself and supply exactly what it wants from memory in the form of a wet dream.

I don't watch porn, but I notice that when I get precum from being really turned on (ie: reading erotica, heavy cuddling, making out, etc), it doesn't make me less likely to have a WD. If anything I've noticed that I'm more likely to have a WD when I sleep later that night. I don't know if it's because of semen build up from when I was feeling all horny, or if it's because my mind is still thinking sexual thoughts, but I've noticed a direct correlation between heavy arousal when I'm awake making me more likely to have a WD when I sleep.

Also been wondering about this. To be honest, it's difficult enough just keeping my hands off, so even if I knew that porn was in effect 'slowing down' the WD, I'm not sure I'd actually be able to stop!

I think that was my downfall in having a wet dream, I watched too much porn, and I think that slowed down the process. I think it's better if you don't watch porn and therefore use your imagination in getting turned on. Besides dont you need imagination to an extent to dream? Hmm.

Hi,
I haven't posted in a real long time. I gave up MB for Lent a few years ago and found the site when I was trying to have a WD. I did ended up having a few WDs. I did this for a few years, but I continually MB.
But, on the subject of porn, when I was trying to have a WD, I watched porn to get hard, thinking it would help fuel my brain, and give me ideas to dream of when I went to sleep that night. But instead, I ended up having a SE and cumming everywhere, preventing me from having a WD that night. Then, when I gave up MB the following year for Lent, I also gave up porn, and I had more WDs than if I didn't give it up. So, I think that porn prevents you from having a WD.

my wet dream frequency has sky rocketed since I have totally stopped watching porn... I had 3 ( or 4 depending on how counted) last week and several the week before, and at least 1 per week before that.
