Do you remember your first WD/Puberty discussion

HI Guys,

Wanted to see how many guys remember that first awkward discussion with a parent or somebody else regarding entering puberty and WD' s etc.

I clearly remember mine. My moment of embaressment was with my dad.
It was when I was 13, my dad was always away on business so didn't see him much. That's why ithink it was left until i was 13. As I was an early starter and started around 11, had my dad had 'the talk' with me then I guess it would have made things a whole lot easier, but never mind...
Anyway, this one particular morning I recall getting up in the morning to a wet dream. So as usual I decided to get straight up and take a shower and get myself cleaned up. I was unaware that whilst I was showering my dad had gone into my room to look for me. When I got out of the shower and went back to my room my dad was removing my bedding, I immediately felt the heat like I had something to hide!
Dad told me to sit down for a minute as he wanted to talk to me, and he thought that was the best time. So he started 'the talk'...
He did say he should have had it earlier but didn't find the right time, and he said he was changing my bedding as it had been stained as he is aware I probably had a WD. ( Yep one of those...I wish the ground would swallow me up moments)! He told me it was perfectly normal and that he could see I was developing already (he was referring to my bulge as I had just come out of the shower in my boxers). He explained a little about the things that were happening to my body and why they were happening, also the things that were going to happen and how to deal with situations such as hygiene etc. Pretty much covered everything that was necessary, which to be honest i appreciated even though it may have been late but better late than never. And I recall him saying something then which I didn't quiet understand until recently...he said 'don't worry son, you will be happy with the way everything is going to turn out as sons normally take after their fathers'... something I didn't understand until a couple of weeks ago when my dad walked in whilst i was coming out from the shower, he smiled and said, 'what did I say...sons take after their fathers' he was referring to my endowment....well guess i should be greatful to him

Anyway that was my experience, please feel free to share yours.

I was about 13 and a half, "helping" Dad to do some work on the car - at a neighbour's house because he had some tools e.g. welding kit which we didn't have at home. As he knew the family he left Dad to get on with the work, trusting him to use whatever tools he needed - and replace them afterwards. That left Dad and myself together, away from Mum and out of earshot of anybody else.

Well, during that session he called me close and speaking quietly, told me all about what would "soon start" happening to me. Don't worry about wet dreams, don't worry at hair popping up anywhere on your body, etc. etc., it's all normal.

I put the words "soon start" in quotes because I had already started having WD's by then. They did not frighten me because I knew what was happening from reading a few books. (Of course I pretended that I knew nothing about it.)

But his words about body hair did reassure me. I had got worried about the "whiskers" that had recently started growing on my legs because they were unexpected (Dad's legs were smooth) but he set my mind at rest there. By contrast, even as a kid I had admired the hair on Dad's arms and couldn't wait for mine to grow. So when hair started growing on my back I just left it to grow without being concerned. (Again, Dad was smooth there.) The same with my earlobes and even the one solitary hair growing from the tip of my nose.
