Hi-
Long time reader, first time poster. First, a bit about myself and then some information (er, experiments) I have to share.
I'm nearly 40, overweight, happily married, and don't ever recall having a wet dream in my lifetime. Thanks to this forum, I've managed to AB for up to a month, but no success with a WD. I don't recall exactly when I started MBing, but probably around 12-13. Right now, I MB or have sex about 1-2 times per week, but it varies. Like a lot of other folks who have never had a WD, I've always wanted to experience one, but now age, weight, and the fact that I MB are working against me. For me, it's more of a, um, fetish of 'being out of control' and 'waking up surprised' that inspires me to keep trying. Reading how long some of you have gone without release is inspiring, but also sounds frustrating. (I know I was at wits-end after about 30 days)
Anyway, my first experiment wanted to test whether or not I can induce a wet dream via tactile stimulation (touch) while I slept. Because I sleep on my stomach though, asking the wife to 'give me a hand' is, well, a bit tough. She knows about my quest, and is willing to help (sometimes), and there have been a few occasions where I was on back, but she just ended up waking me up. (Of late, she hasn't been as supportive because she is concerned about my sleep. Keep reading, and you'll understand)
So, my plan... I bought a A/C powered digital timer and programmed it to 'turn on' at the top of the hour, every hour, for 15 minutes beginning at midnight. Next, I went to Radio Shack and bought an AC-DC power converter (the one they sell for replacing chargers and other gagets. The one I bought came with several adaptors including a mini-plug adapter. I set it to output 1.5 volts DC, the same amount of voltage used by most battery powered vibrators. No one wants to get woken up with AC voltage!!) Next, I went to a, um, 'store' and bought a woman's butterfly vibrator- the kind with straps that go around your waist. I made sure it ran on about 1.5 volts of AA battery power, and it had the same kind of mini-plug connector. When I'm ready to go to bed for the night, I strap the vibrator around the base of my penis, and plug the mini-plug jack into a barrell connector (radio shack) and then plug that into the converter. ...And I *try* to fall asleep.
It's been interesting, but it hasn't worked to date. First, it's hard to fall asleep. (pun-intended) You know what's coming, and it's a good feeling. So, it's hard to 'forget' you are wearing it and relax. Second, having something resting at the base (or near) your penis when you've gone without MB for a few days is also a turn-on. Also, it's hard for it to stay 'in the right place' as you toss and turn. Most of the time, regardless of how tired I am, I wake up right before the timer turns the vibrator on. It's a subtle, but very nice feeling when it does turn on - but I'm almost always awake and anticipating it somehow - and wake up just before it turns on.
Only a very few times have I slept completly through it. In those rare cases, it's had no visible effect, and I recall absolutely no dreams during the time it has scheduled to turn on. Because of how this contraption is put togther (call it a prototype), sometimes it also comes unplugged, which means it's possible the vibrator never turned on to begin with.
Because I really believe this should work in theory, I've kept at it, and lost *lots* of sleep. This has made for a lot of grumpy, sleepy days/weeks. So anyone willing to try this, should be warned. Also, (for the younger ones especially) make sure you know what you are doing so you don't get shocked!
Last night, I did manage to wake up from a few dreams (REM state?) a few times and noticed it was vibrating, and I was erect. The dream wasn't sex related, but I did have a bit of pre-cum. (But, I can't necessarily say that was a result of the vibration - again, when you wear something like this contraption and you know it's coming, sometimes you're just already in the mood.
So, I'll keep trying, when I can, and when it doesn't impact my work. (which it already has...) I'll let you know if I stumble upon a miracle, but no luck so far.
I wanted to finally contribute this information and a few other tests in case some of you are insipred. I've appreciated all the posts and comments and thought it was time to add something of my own.
