Are wet dreams caused by being abused?

I am considering the possibility that wet dreams are directly related to stress, oppression and suppressed/denied memories of humiliation and child abuse. I am satisfied that at least some contribution is made by these factors.

Any honest and insightful people able to contribute their relation between WD's and these factors?

I'll gladly reply. Hmm not sure what your saying. But I'll tell you my first wet dream if that helps you. It was more of what I call a WN or wet nightmare. I was raped by a ventriloquist dummy. I was 15(currently 20) at the time and had a fear of the Child's play series(currently embraced). I thought when my little brother got it the day he had it, was i better not have a nightmare of this, and that's what happened. But to my knowledge nothing ever happened in real life, I think making the comparision is quite contraversial and I think BigDreamer maybe looking into things way too much!

True i did say i was afraid of the Child's Play series/Chucky, but it was literally a ventriloquist dummy named Charlie that raped me in my WN not Chucky.

I don't think they are caused by that, no. I think that wet dreams are more common than abuse, therefore abuse is unlikely the main cause of wet dreams.

Now, if you're asking the similar, but different question: Does abuse bring about wet dreams, then I really don't know. However, given that it can be more difficult for someone with sexual abuse in their past to get aroused or interested in sex, I presume it's also less harder for them to have a wet dream*.

*With wet dream meaning coinciding with nocturnal emission, not just a dream with sexual content.
