It's That Time Of Year Again

Hi everyone,

It's HBKid718 again. Lent is coming up next week, which is the time you fast and give things up to remember what Jesus did prior to Easter. Anyway, I am a frequent MB, so I usually give that up for Lent. Last year I didn't give it up because I was on vacation and thought that if I gave it up, I could potentially have a WD or SE in the middle of Disney World. I didn't give it up which worked out for the better, since I MB'd before I left and I didn't have to do it again until I came back. The years prior to that, I only gave up MB to try to have WD, but as the years went on, I've had less and less WDs. Here's what happened in the years past:

3/19 - 3/22: nothing happens or did it? (possible WD while sleeping, but not knowing it)
3/22- 3/29: nothing happens

3/30 - 4/7: nothing happens
4/8: Lent ends and 1st MB happens

2/6 - Lent and abstaining from MB begins
2/7 - 2/13 - Nothing happens
2/14 (4:15 AM) - 1st WD occurs

So, I think if I give it up again, I'll probably not have a WD due to my body having its own way to release my semen, through SE's when I watch porn. Also, this year I really don't MB as much as I used to. My father lost his job so he's always home so I don't have the opportunities to MB every Tues. & Thurs. that I used to and can only MB when I'm in the bathroom, shower, or in bed, which is very rare, because I go to bed so late, that I'm too tired to MB. So, since my frequency is down, do you think I should still give up MB or should I do what I did last year and just give up porn. Also, if you read my last post, I did have a WD when I didn't MB for a week. So, does that mean that I could have it again since my MB frequency is down? I would love to hear your opinions and thoughts. Thanks.

I think this is getting pretty stupid. Every year you just abstain for Easter. Well I'm not with you this time. Either learn to abstain for the many good reasons, indefinitely, or don't bother. This abstinence just for Lent every year is pointless.

Also, if you read my last post, I did have a WD when I didn't MB for a week. So, does that mean that I could have it again since my MB frequency is down? Welcome back! If your MB rate has been down, it might help you get a WD if you abstain. Give it a try and see what happens!

To those who say why should be bother, I say it is up to him. He is free to abstain when he wants for as long as he wants. He may even decide that he likes it and may continue past lent this time.

Likewise, do you appreciate me making this criticism about your behavior Thursday? Is it going to help you improve your character or is it just going to make you angry and resentful?

I agree.

I have never seen Thursday go out of line on someone and I think this is no different. Constructive criticism should be welcomed especially when you have a guy like Thursday who has won this battle. Abstaining for Lint makes no sense, it's just a "religious activity" which shows no commitment outside of that "religious activity" He can do what he wants, but I doubt God wants people to abstain because of some man-made holiday. Just my two cents.

Also isn't MB looked poorly upon by the church? I don't think the intention of Lent is to take out sins (you're already supposed to have done that) it's to abstain from things that you enjoy, but are non-sinful. I'm not Catholic so I could be dead wrong and if I am please explain my error.

OK now I'm really confused, you aren't religious, but you give MB up for a religious activity. I'm not going to even try to understand your logic, but OK. I was basically making the valid point that you should do something properly or not at all. It's like to do this: read about how harmful smoking is, all of the many diseases it's linked to, the ones it's been directly proven to cause, the fact it's proven your chances of contracting many cancers increases a LOT if you smoke even a FEW cigarettes per day. I could go on and on about the dangers of smoking, but for the sake of this example, it's proven beyond reasonable doubt, (way beyond that actually,) that smoking tobacco is extremely harmful. Knowing the dangers, "X" decided to carry on smoking, but quit every year for Lent. It could be any other fixed period, so it could be that "X" quits MB for Lent every year, and quits smoking for the whole of February every year, so that's 28 days or 29 on leap-years. Simply, it makes no sense at all.

Anyway, I could construct a long, thorough post here pointing out how I gave a small piece of constructive criticism, which makes sense and ultimately is HELPFUL to both the OP and other people who are considering the "quit MB for Lent"-type approach. But anyone who's intelligent and looking at this objectively can clearly see the absurdity of giving up MB for Lent, every year since 2006. [Or- did the OP miss a year? .... Well; whatever, that's generally what he's been doing.] I'll just post this and everyone can make up their own minds. After taking everyone's comments into consideration, I have decided that I'm not going to give up MB for Lent. There's no point. I gave it up in the beginning because I wanted to try to have a WD after finding this site. But then as the years went on and I've had fewer and fewer WDs due to me having SEs or because I MB too much, I lost interest in having WDs. Thursday, you're right, if I should attempt to give it up, I should try to do it outside of Lent and for a longer period of time. dontgiveup, you're right, if I'm not religious, why should I even give anything up. So my decision is this: I am not giving up MB for Lent or any other time. You know what, I'm not calling it MB anymore. That "dirty" word here shouldn't be censored. I LOVE MASTURBATION. This was my last post before I decided to come back to the site. I still MB as much as I can. I will never be able to give it up, but I thought I would return to the site, to see what was going on. Also, I want to participate again. Maybe reading some of these posts will convince me to give up masturbating again and try to get a WD. I have viewed some of the videos and read several posts and think it's cool that most of you abstain and try to have a WD. I wish you luck and will try to contribute here, with my thoughts and ideas.
