I am 15 years old and i have had three wet dreams in my life. I have noticed that for me they occur only after almost a week of not masturbating. I find wet dreams enjoyable, and i can remember what happened during my dream quite clearly. On to my question.
I haven't masturbated in about 5 days and i want to have a wet dream. I dont know if thats normal but i find it fun. Anyway i had a dream last night as well as the night before that involving sex. The first night i was about to have sex in my dream and then i woke up. The second night was a very long sequence of trying to have sex with a woman lol, and again i woke up and never ejaculated. So my question is why am i waking up right before sex in a dream? I cant remember if my alarm clock woke me up or i just woke up. Is my brain waking me up so i dont have a wet dream or am i just waking up unfortunately before sex?

Welcome to this site. If you normally have to wait a week for a WD (wet dream), you may not be quite 'due' for one yet. The dreams you are having may lead up to one soon.


It may not be extremely common but you are not alone. For one thing, many guys around the world in various cultures don't MB for religious or cultural reasons and their normal outlet is WD's. Many of them enjoy them. But other guys simply prefer WD's to MB and don't MB to maximize their WD's, not for any particular religious reason. Many guy try to get a WD at one time or another by trying to abstain from MB but slip up and can't succeed.

Some people have to abstain from MB for a long time to get a WD. You seem to be lucky that you can get one so quickly, but part of that is your age. If you continue to MB frequently, you would very likely find it harder and harder to get a WD, and might end up having to abstain from MB a month or more just to get one WD.

So if you find it 'fun' not to MB and have enjoyable WD's instead, a lot of us here would recommend that you start pursuing the WD's now while you are still young. That means don't MB and go for the WD's. If you stop MB for a while you may start getting WD's more and more frequently. Some guys your age can get two or three WD's per week, and even two in one night.

So if you enjoy the WD's and enjoy abstaining from MB to get them, go for it!

well i dont think im going to stop mbing because whenever i dont do it for about a week or longer i have really strong urges to mb and it feels really good after not doing it for a long time. I dont mb as much as some other guys though. Usually 2 or 3 times per week. Im not religious at all so i dont have a problem with it. I like wet dreams better than mbing but i dont think its worth waiting 2 weeks or months for them.

I think you may be waking up just before the WD, I read somewhere that WDs are more likely to occur at weekends because that's when most of us get more sleep, and since REM sleep is the time WDs occur it's more likely to happen if you get more of it. Some religious people used to be woken up very early in the morning everyday so that they wouldn't have WDs. Your body will give you a WD when you need it.

oh, that is probably why then because i usually go to bed around 11 or 12 during the week and wake up at 6 so i get hardly any sleep.

Your heart rate might be increasing and your body might be freaking out. It's the same thing that happens with nightmares, at some point you'll start freaking out, and it wakes you up. You're probably getting uptight and maybe a little bit nervous about these sexual situations at 15, so are waking up. Don't worry too much about it.

I can relate if you are talking about nightmares. I don't get them anymore. Somehow whenever something scary is about to happen I suddenly jump to being awake - thankfully! I think that my body has learned what it feels like to enter a nightmare because it isn't just the scary plot but this weird feeling that takes over my body, like a heaviness and fear of something horrible about to happen, and my heart squeezes and it is hard to breath and if I don't wake up soon enough I will be too weak and get sucked into the nightmare and not be able to fight back and then I'll have to sit through the awfulness, thinking I am dying, until it is over.

In a way my wet dreams used to be a little like that because I could never wake up from them. All the same basic feelings were there but they were much less intense. I could breathe fine, though which is a difference too. But I did get a numb heavy tingly weak feeling all over and I could not move to wake up, and my heart did pound harder. But I think because it was not as scary as a nightmare that the shock or fear wasn't intense enough to wake me up. I wish it did at first because in the dream I thought I was wetting the bed, and then of course there was the stain which I didn't yet figure out how to keep from ruining my good clothes and sheets. Now of course my wet dreams are much more enjoyable and they even happen a little less.

Which makes me answer your other question about waking up too soon from a sex dream. I just had a dream I would describe as that without giving any details and it was not a wet dream. According to other people they wake up before or during the ejaculation. I always woke up AFTER and still do. So I think if I wake up dry then it was just a sex dream and not a wet dream that ALMOST happened. I mean, how can you tell the difference?

Well it isnt really like a nightmare, although i do wake up during nightmares. I dont think i was nervous during either of the dreams i had the last two days. I think i may have been woken up at the wrong time. That seems the most likely explanation to me. I didnt know there was such thing as just a sex dream. All of the vivid dreams i have had about sex besides these two have resulted in ejaculating. Maybe there is something in my brain that doesnt want me to have sex in my dream because in the first dream i was just about to have sex and then i woke up almost exactly before. During the second dream i wanted to have sex with some girl and i kept trying to in my dream. It was pretty funny actually and i can remember it quite clearly. I was making progress but then i woke up.

Well I don't mean it was LIKE a nightmare, what I meant was just the same way you wake up before anything really bad happens in a nightmare you might be waking up before anything really GOOD happens in your wet dream. They are both intense and if you sense them about to happen you might wake up.

You can have sex dreams that are not wet dreams. And you can have wet dreams that are not about sex. (I had plenty that were almost like wetting the bed, like I said.)

I don't think anything inside you is trying to not make you have wet dreams. It is probably a reflex. Or like I said, a sex dream that was never going to be wet no matter when you woke up. I have also had peeing dreams where I feel like I pee forever and no matter how long it lasts I really do not wet my bed. That does not mean I was going to but woke up too soon. It was just what I felt in the dream.

Maybe you are psyching yourself out. People who really wet the bed or have nightmares get so worried about it and get extra stressed that it probably makes them worse or happen more. Maybe the opposite is happening with you and wet dreams where you want them to happen too much? You didn't say but maybe you are unconsiously worried about leaving a stain and someone seeing it. The first times you had wet dreams you didn't know you were making a stain so you didn't know any better but now you might be making the connection subconsciously and waking up first. I'm just guessing!

Well, the question is do you still have the wet dream. At first, when having my wet dreams, I would basically sleep throug them and only wake a little while I was having the orgasim. Then go right back to sleep.

Now like today with my an afternoon nap, I had two, the first one woke me some but not fully and the second one I was not fully awake but I was still thinking about and adding to the thought of what I was dreaming and bam the second one was a big as the first. Then I sleep for another hour and half. What an afterglow.

So maybe it maybe ok that you are waking but try to stay with it.
